About 10 months ago my Balinese cat Moss started to get scan-like crusts on his ears and lost hair on his head and neck. Our regular Vet suspected a fungal infection like ringworm and began treatment, but they were ineffective. After 4-5 months of trying different things, our Vet recommended we take Moss to Dermatology for Animals in Avondale. Dr Lockwood met Moss and immediately ran biopsies and tests to confirm her suspicions that he had an autoimmune disease. She prescribed us medication to help, and Moss immediately improved! Six months on and he is a happy, healthy, fluffy boy again with no reoccurrence of his illness. We have found Dr Lockwood and all the staff to be kind, empathetic, professional and encouraging, and the prices to be very fair considering the lengths they go to in order to treat our kitty. Thank you to all the team at Dermatology for Animals for giving us our sweet kitty back!

Ive been dealing with Dermatology for Animals almost a year now. I have a Great Dane with severe skin issues and thankfully the vet here was able to diagnose his issue. Let me first say, I love the vet. Its the front staff that I am not fond of. My Great Dane has to be on medication on a regular basis. Due to the current COVID restrictions (even though they have been lifted by the CDC) I have to park, call the number and wait for them to bring out the meds to me. And there lies the problem. It is not unusual for me to call 10-15 times only to get the answering machine each time. My standard wait time before someone eventually answers ranges from 30-55 minutes. In order to get their attention, I sometimes have to call the emergency vet the shares the same office with them. Ive been told by Dermatology vet staff on more than one occasion that the reason for them not answering their phones is that they are dealing with other clients on the phone. This is disappointing. If I am a client, waiting there in the parking lot, wouldnt that take precedence over someone calling from the convenience of their home? The last straw came today. I, once again, drove to the office, parked and called and called and called. I called and got their voicemail recording 11 times in a 25 minute period. Being on my lunch hour and foolishly assuming I could pick up the meds and be back home within a reasonable amount of time was not a realistic expectation. On the 11th call, I left a voicemail stating what happened to me. It took over an hour for them to return my call. Sadly, I am going to have to look for another vet, as I cant go through this every time I have to pick up my Walters medications. This has happened to me several times, no matter which day I go, and over several months. Each time Im told theyre training someone new, which I dont think is the real issue here. Their customer service needs some serious help! And if they continue to only offer curbside pickup, a dedicated line to those waiting outside would be appreciated.

Dr Song finally figured out what was making our Great Dane break out and get blisters on his tummy. We are still in the antibiotics stage, so not cleared up yet. But we are hopeful. If it goes away I would definitely give five stars.

My dog is 7 yrs old and has seen uncountable Vets for her skin condition and allergies since she was a pup. We saw Dr. Schick and her staff recently at the EAC in Avondale and Im blown away by her (all of them actually). She is absolutely wonderful - not only with my dog but with me as well. Weve met vets who are great with animals but not so much with humans, and oddly enough we met a few who werent any good with dogs and seem to prefer people. But Dr Schick is knowledgeable, caring, attentive, truly listens, communicates well, and takes her time with you and your dog. I was very grateful when I found her and felt comfortable with her immediately.

This is truly a wonderful place if your pet has ANY kind of skin problems. You dont think much about your family pet having a serious skin problem, but when they do, this is the place. I was troubled with my dogs problem, but Dr. Shick made the correct diagnosis and provided treatment that was spot on and with the right medication, my Ollie is again a happy and healthy dog. And I am without worry, as I know I have a place I can trust with his health. Thanks for taking care of my little buddy.TK

I would give more stars if I could!! We had been dealing with our dogs allergies for two years, taking him to our local vet every couple months with no success. We were hesitant to take him to a dermatology specialist because of the cost, but were pleasantly surprised when we received the bill after our initial visit. We learned more about dog allergies and treatment that would could ever imagine! Drs. Morar and Lockwood were a godsend! These vets sat on the floor with our dog and really interacted with them while explaining our options and not always recommending the most expensive which we pleasantly surprised! They have dogs with allergies so they have first hand experience with the day to day rituals involved with having a dog with allergies. Our dog Max has not felt this good in years and we are extremely grateful to have taken a chance on Dermatology for Animals! Thank you Dr. Morar and Dr. Lockwood!!!
