I always get friendly healthcare for my family and myself here. I recently needed a Covid Test. I signed up Sunday night and got a text Monday morning. I just drove up, checked in online and texted my car spot. A nurse came out shortly after and swabbed my nostrils. So easy! And she didnt go all the way back like they used to.

Just wanted to brag about the COVID testing nurse taking the samples, how amazing she was with my little one. She was so patience, sympathetic, and most importantly caring. My son couldn’t stop saying how he loved the way she treated him and even asked to get her number, of course not doing that. I wasn’t able to obtain her name but, I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Medical professions usually are matter-of-factly and stay under a professional atmosphere however, I felt she treated my son in a motherly fashion. Just amazed and grateful even after a very difficult week. Thank you again!!!

I would normally give this place 5 stars but today is a different day. Im a person who doesnt mind wearing a mask. Im fully vaccinated and so on. The nurse (MA) and NP were awesome. I didnt think the front desk woman who checked me in was very nice. She had a snotty attitude and she was like does your daughter have a mask ( which my daughter isnt even 2 years old yet). I said no she doesnt. She said well yall are going to wait outside then. I said well its hot out there and she has the nerve to say do you have a car? Yeah girl what if i didnt then what? Didnt know yall expect babies/barely toddlers to wear a mask and be rude about it.

Scheduled an after hours appointment with Dr. Avis Meeks Day for my 1 year old and not only was she dismissive about my concerns, she rushed through the entire visit, diagnosed him with allergies and wrote the over-the-counter medication and dosage on the exam table paper before walking out. I took him to urgent care the following day where he was diagnosed with an ear infection, bronchitis and pneumonia. If you know something is wrong with you or with your child, never stop advocating for the diagnosis you need.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Clemons for an annual physical. Much to my dismay Dr. Clemons spent a total of 30 SECONDS in the room with me. Some lady who said she was in training conducted the physical if you can call it that. Concerns such as elevated blood pressure were entirely ignored even though my research shows that ones blood pressure should not jump from 113/64 to 180/111 simply from standing for 10 minutes. Now, I received lab results in My Chart with no communication from anyone at ARC. No personal contact, no concern that I understand the lab results - simply go to MyChart and interpret on your own. Clearly ARC is a stockyard merely pushing the cows through. Extremely disappointed and at a loss to what I should do from here.

This is a multi event review but the details are why I gave it 2 Stars. The Dermatology department is amazing. Dr. Rasmussen was polite and quick to diagnose. He was responsive when the medication wasn’t working and sent in a new prescription same day. 5 stars! The business itself is a mess.I need a PC. Since Dr.R was great I figure it’s a simple choice to stick with ARC. I made an appointment on the app as they requested.Attempt 1: (7/7/21) I show up and they say I don’t have an appt. I figure it was my user error and reschedule for soonest available appt, no dr pref. Soonest is 5 weeks.Attempt 2: (8/11/21) I show up at 7:45 for my 8am. The woman was incredibly rude. She didn’t look up from her computer the entire time. She tells me the appt was cancelled because Dr.Champ is out for the day. She continues to tell me they called and left a message. I open my phone and tell her I didn’t receive anything. She told me I was wrong and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said Yes.Attempt 3: New appt is set for 8/20/21. On 8/17/21 they call to cancel. I ask for next available with ANY doctor. They give me September 30th!! That’s 3 months from when I made my first appt. The front desk woman are rude and the doctors can’t keep appointments. I don’t know how they can function like this.

UPDATE 06/17: This clinic not only responded to my complaint but also commented on this review, that they have escalated the issue and management would be in contact with me. NO one has contacted me and I was seen at another clinic and received exceptional care. Do not go to ARC or see Dr. Gonzalez if you have any legitimate healthcare needs***I was seen by Dr. Ernesto Gonzalez for a sore throat and runny nose over the weekend. I have had a cough with production of thick green phlegm - no fever, no body aches or chills ***I had COVID back in October***. Aside from a very basic listen to my heart and lungs and glance at my throat, Dr. Gonzalez did not do his job. He is more concerned about getting a kickback for another COVID test, then actually evaluating his patients and properly diagnosing them. He did not consider or try to rule out all of the other over 70 diseases that could be making me ill. He is waiting my time, money and resources, he is doing his patients a major disservice and could be potentially dangerous to myself as the patient by not diagnosing me properly and the community around me. I do not recommend seeing him and I do not recommend ARC as it seems this is very typical behavior by doctors at their clinics.

Tried to get an appointment with podiatrist and was given a wild run around by the people who answer the phone and nurses to include answers like my needing a referral, to sending me to another clinic, to waiting several minutes on the phone in silence. After being put on hold twice for a period of up to twenty minutes each time I finally got an appointment at the Southwest location. After being customers with ARC over thirty years it has become very difficult to get an appointment.

We go here for our son’s pediatrician, we LOVE her! We’ve been to a few of the pediatricians there and they all seem pretty great. It’s nice that they work so closely with St David’s, they pride themselves on not making people with appointments wait- we’ve never waited more than ten minutes. All staff is very friendly and it’s great that they are open after hours. The draw backs are that it is such a big place- a lot of sick people coming and going and they are so efficient that it can feel almost machine like. I still wouldn’t go anywhere else, because all though it’s set up for in and out service, the staff still makes you feel like you’re the only patient.

I really like the doctors and feel comfortable having my family seen by them. We see pediatrics and enjoy Dr Austin, as well as, many of the pediatricians! For family, Dr. Grimes is definitely my favorite. The only big issue I have is when calling in for any pediatric advice. There are many times that we’re not at the point of needing to come in, pay a hefty copay and expose our children to the many big and small sicknesses. Whenever I call to speak with a nurse, I’m calling for a little advice. Asking what to look out for etc. I’m immediately directed to bring them in. If I felt like I needed to bring them in, I would’ve definitely called the appointment line first. Even when my child doesn’t have a fever and is acting completely normal, just a rash that can be explained by something that was done at their prior ARC appointment, I’m directed to bring them in. It makes me uncomfortable to feel like I’m “going against their suggestions,” but I don’t think it’s in anyone’s best interest to rush a kid in around illnesses when they aren’t symptomatic, further than a rash, and the parent is just trying to get some advice on what to look out for. Before we moved to Austin and started with ARC, the pediatricians we saw always tried to keep us from coming in unless the child was symptomatic or we felt uncomfortable with them not being seen. ARC seems to approach it more like if we’re even calling, we MUST bring them in to have any discussion.

I never received anything in the mail or a phone call etc. Months later I receive a collection statement for the bill! I call the office and ask what is going on and the lady says they mailed a bill. When I verify the address they are missing the apt # (no wonder I didnt receive it) and she tries to blame me instead of admitting the front office is incompetent at inputting correct info. Then I asked why they didnt call instead of directly sending to collections and she said they did... I NEVER received any calls. I told her I would pay the bill if they removed from collections so my credit wouldnt be affected due to their incompetence and she agreed. Well guess what? They took my money and never removed it from collections!! They just flat out lied over and over again. Now, due to their incompetence and shady business practices my credit score dropped 11 points. When you know my symptoms were not alarming to you then why call me after hours saying the doc wants to meet you urgently. Now I have to pay fees for meeting the doc and an after hours fee. Pros: everything you need is in the clinic. Including if you need same day lab work done, you dont have to go to another location. The only provider that I could possibly recommend is the NP Darla Grimes. She will not push antibiotics down your throat, without first checking labs. She also takes time to answer your questions.Cons: unfortunately the pediatricians here are not the greatest. They are very quick to shove antibiotics down your kids throat, without doing any lab work. We experienced this with 3 of their pediatricians.

Ive been a loyal patient for 20 years. Against the advice of my husband, I had our children receive care here as well. I am a low maintenance patient, I make my appointments unless theres a critical reason. Two days ago I had a tooth fracture and my dentist said my blood pressure needed to come down. ARC would not fill it, even though I have been on it for 12 or so years and they have all my records, without an appointment. My dentist said to let them know I need an interim amount to get me through and get my pressure down for oral surgery. They said no and said they might be able to get me an appointment tomorrow. Also good to note I had been in to the same location several times for other reasons this year. I told them my doctors name and they advised that was not my doctor, because I had not seen her in a year. Regardless, she is my primary and all my appointments should be sending her my info for the holistic view of my health. This must be too much for them to fathom. By the way I need a non controlled substance and its an emergency. I was willing to sit in the lobby and wait for a consultation.. The answer is no. So, they proved my husband right. They dont care and they are no good. The doctors probably have no idea how their patients are treated. Dr. Tennous was awesome but apparently not my primary 🤔I guess everything happens for a reason. After months of battling a cough that would just not go away, I went in to be evaluated. I was in poor shape and the doctor I saw thought it might be pneumonia and that I needed antibiotics. She told me she was going to order some x-rays to evaluate my lungs to determine if I had acute bronchitis or pneumonia. I asked if I could just have the antibiotic without the x-rays since she had already stated I needed antibiotics. She advised me that she needed the x-rays to determine which antibiotic to give me--the antibiotic she gave me would be determined by whether it was acute bronchitis or pneumonia. After the scan she ended up prescribing an antibiotic that would, take care of either bronchitis or pneumonia, so why did I have to do the x-ray? I called their billing and asked that charge be taken off as I felt I had been tricked into getting x-rays I didnt really need. The person I spoke with said I would have to pay the remaining balance, but the subsequent bill I got still has the charge on it. I have called them a second time, and am still waiting on what the doctor says about the charge. To add to the aggravation, my husband came down with a similar cough shortly after I got better and went in for antibiotics as well. The doctor he saw would flat out not prescribe an antibiotic, but instead prescribed an inhaler (when my husband tried to fill the prescription, it turned out to be $250.00). My husband refused to buy the inhaler and instead called ARC to see if the doctor would prescribe an antibiotic instead. My husband waited 3 days to get any information back. The doctor refused the antibiotic. My husband ended up going to another local clinic (NOT ARC) that was not on our health plan and paid out of pocket to see a doctor there. The doctor at that clinic quickly prescribed an antibiotic and my husband was better within 3 days.Long story short, ARC has horrible doctors. Go somewhere else.

If you make it through the endless phone tree you will be greeted by usually unpleasant receptionists then placed on hold for sometimes 20 minutes just to leave a message with a medical assistant. In person visits are more of an assembly line. Wait in line to check in, wait for up to 30 minutes past your appointment time to be called back. Wait in the room for another 20 minutes for the doctor to blow through and not listen to your concerns. This is the McDonalds of healthcare clinics.Ive been on hold the entire time Ive written this review, plus about 10 minutes just trying to talk to someone, anyone at all. Places like this are the reason I havent had a check up in 3 years prior to my visit. I went here just for a simple annual check up, but they decided they would try to squeeze as much money out of me as possible from the very beginning. Giving me a very obscure diagnosis code that my insurance wouldnt cover, I came back with a bill well over $200.When I called my insurance thats when I learned they had given me a ridiculous diagnosis code. They said I would need to call ARC back to get them to correct it, to which they said they could not because it would be fraud. I had to call several times before they changed the code. Once they did, they sent me a new bill for $156. Less than before, but still ridiculous for a routine annual with insurance that should have been no more than $20.Ive been calling the billing department, sometimes with them putting me on hold for several minutes and then hanging up, only for them to say that they can only offer a payment plan of $38 a month, which I told them I could not afford. They said that they encourage small payments to make a history but it would not be considered a payment plan, to which they also said I would still be sent to collections for. Why would I give ANY money to a company that will be sending me to collections anyway? This is not even mentioning the actual care they gave me. The doctor came in and the first thing he said to me was that he could not address all my concerns so I would have to pick some main ones. So I said I wanted antidepressants and my thyroid tested. By the way, thyroid testing IS part of the lab testing they do in a routine check-up, I looked it up. He also sent me over to the OBGYN to get my first pap smear since I just turned 21 and I need to get them annually. When I went over to the OBGYN I told them my concerns and they said I may have a bacterial infection. The test came back negative but they gave me the antibiotics anyways, just to get the money, probably. The antibiotic was stupid expensive and didnt help me in any way. I still have the same symptoms and am out $110.

I have been going to this clinic for as long as I can remember and cant understand the complaints as I have never had any issues. Dr. Fincken, my original physician changed locations and now I have Dr. Johnson who is great. If I need a quicker appointment or Dr. Johnson is not available when I need a physician quickly, they have always accommodated me with an appointment with another physician.Never a problem with physicians, medical staff or administration.

Ive always liked the fact that you can get a doctor right away. I think it a pretty good show for what this is. The only drawback is that this is a SUPER busy practice and sometimes I have felt like part of heard. That said... its todays medical care!

Would be great if the people handling the payments would actually know what they are doing. We keep getting calls for and invoices for payments that have been done. We get charged for the baby on the wrong account several times, even though we have explained to them SEVERAL times that the account has changed. Seriously!!!!!!!

Went to the after hours care because my daughter with asthma and a heart condition woke up with flu like symptoms. They swabbed and said it would be 30-40 minutes for lab - over an hour later I call and they are closed for the day- cant give me my results till tomorrow and cant tell me if they called in a prescription. They took a message and said they would have another nurse call. Another hour later and no call - and now my pharmacy is also closed. So I paid extra for the after hours weekend care for absolutely nothing.

Ive been very sick for about 3 months (which my diagnosis was determined by them) and got worse on a Sunday so made appt same day since they were familiar with my situation. They called me and cancelled it saying I need to come in during the week. Who does that? How do you turn away a sick person who needs medical assistance?

They seem to think your cattle or sheep and try to herd you through as quickly as possible. I paid my copay and 2 months later received a bill for items the insurance did not cover plus a $5 add-on for it being over 30 days even though this was the first bill I had received. Paid the bill in full now this month I receive another bill for $55 for some other things they say the insurance didnt cover and another $5 tack on for being over 30 days again. The billing is so confusing I cant tell what they are charging me for and why after 90 days they keep finding things to bill me for. Seems like a little scam to get that extra $5. Does not seem like a lot but times that by the hundreds or thousands of patients per month Nifty little setup to add to the bottom line. Guaranteed will not visit any Austin Regional Clinic again ever.

I have trusted ARC with my care for years. Tonight I got to the After Hours for a miserable headache, ear pain, sore throat, and hot flashes/chills. Dr. Flores was rude and dismissive from the start of our conversation. My ears are killing me, I have a history of ear infections and yet she told me there is nothing they can do. Take a OTC decongestant and wait until I spike a fever. Based of LOOKING at my its viral. Thanks a million, Ill be at another doctor tomorrow getting this resolved. Waist of a copay and an hour of my life. When did ARC start just taking a copay and not issuing treatment?

I am not really sure who or why someone would give a negative review of this location but I love the doctors and staff there. Twice I have gotten injured and was squeezed into an apt to be seen that day. Not once did I feel like the doctors were rushing through the appt. The front desk staff, nursing staff and doctors all had a positive personality. Anyhow, maybe someone did have a bad day but remember, the staff are not only trying to take care of you but those that have had unforeseen circumstances occur. Kudos to the staff there.

They have been seeing ARC doctors since birth and my oldest is now 20, I have moved my whole family to another provider since last year! They deactivated my kids accounts since they havent seen a doctor in over a year! Im sorry but Im not gonna schedule an appt if my kids arent sick just to keep my account active! Best clinic gone bad!

Tried just to get a refill. Called nurse after hours. Went to slaughter location. Alfonso couldnt help. Its sad when someone is ill and takes meds on a regular basis. And you cant get simple answers to basic questions.was a waste of time. And it felt like nobody on the phone or at the facility really wanted to help. It was like I was bothering them and they had more important things to do. Well Ill try again tomorrow? Before this I always spoke highly of arc.

After having a great experience with another ARC while my wife was pregnant, we decided to have our newborn as well as myself start going to the nearest ARC to our house - ARC Southwest. It seemed good at first, including the ability to see a doctor same day and call and speak to a nurse. But its gotten really awful and now well be finding new doctors for all of us.I dropped off some paperwork for my sons daycare for them to sign. They said it would be 1-2 days. I called after 2 days to see if it was ready, and was put on hold for 15 minutes. It was a 2 minute drive to the clinic, so I just drove there with them on hold. No one had picked up by the time I got there, so I just asked one of the irritable ladies at the front desk. She said she would check with someone, and after talking to two people and then calling someone, she said that they werent picking up. She didnt walk the 10 feet to the person she was calling, didnt offer any solutions, just said that I could wait. So I waited. And waited. And after 45 minutes, they finally found the paperwork and gave it to me. It was signed the previous day.Last week, I stopped by to get treated for what I thought was a ringworm infection. The doctor was nice enough and got my results in about an hour. He sent a prescription to the pharmacy. I get to the pharmacy and they tell me that its $35 because its not covered by insurance since its an over the counter medication. I asked her what the price for the exact same medication would be if I just bought it from the aisle right behind me, and it was $7. I spoke to the Pharmacist directly and she confirmed that yes, it was the exact same thing as what the doctor prescribed. Why would the doctor try to trick me into paying 5x as much for the treatment? This morning my 3 month old had a cough. I called ARC and spoke to someone and was told that they would call me back. That was at 7:30am this morning. It is now 2:30pm and I havent heard anything. As a new parent, this is really not the kind of service that I am looking for.I do NOT recommend this place. They are unorganized, they dont seem to care about the patients at all, and they have awful customer service.EDIT - The clinic manager at this ARC called me the same day I posted this review (and sent them a message with the same content). She was incredibly helpful and apologetic, but most importantly took the time to put some of these experiences in context and also explain what they are doing to improve on these issues. While it doesnt change my experiences, it does change my perception of this ARC overall. I really hope that I am able to come back in a few months and revise this review after what I hope will be more positive experiences in the near future.EDIT - 1 year later and I’m changing my review back to 1 star. While I have left and will never return, my wife still goes here. She continues to have billing problem after billing problem and they don’t seem to be able to send necessary medical over to other medical offices. They are completely disorganized and unprofessional and you should avoid them at all costs. If they can’t figure out how to pick up the phone, send you the correct bill, or do other simple tasks, how are they going to take care of your health?

The lady at the front desk at 7:25am on Tuesday, May 21,2019 was the most inconsiderate, rude, smug and unfit person for the health care industry. I was so wrong she is a wonderful person n takes the time to explain tells u what she needs for u to do n what she is going to do. I have been seeing her for maybe 9 months n her caring has helped me get the help i needed. It has been hard to stick to my new diet but i have seen the results n i feel so much better. ARC has a great doctor working for them n i wanted to share this if u r looking for a great dotor try her. She is firm but she tells u the way it is n what u need to get well. Im glad i found her. God bless u doc Darla Grimes.

I am deaf and I read lips very well. I am also highly educated. I did not want an interpreter for this brief visit and I was denied my right as a patient to refuse an interpreter. The doctor refused to see me unless I had an interpreter. This is unacceptable. I went to another urgent care afterwards and they respected my wishes and I was seen almost immediately. Respect the patients wishes - its their health - not yours!

I chose this clinic because of their location and proximity to my home. The receptionists seem to really like their job. Dr. Duong (Pediatrics) neglected to check our infant daughter (who had incredible difficulty breastfeeding, which we brought up to her at every visit) for lip or tongue ties. She insisted without asking any in depth questions that my supply was deficient, and went on about how she breastfed twins with no problem. This was incredibly unhelpful, and we later discovered (on our own) that our daughters upper lip requires a surgical frenectomy (to fix the lip tie) and it has caused issues with her teeth coming in and development of speech. All of this could have easily been discovered at her initial check ups, however Dr. Duong was entirely too focused on her own success as a breastfeeding mom to assess our daughter objectively. We would not return to ARC or Dr. Duong or recommend them to other parents.

Terrible place! Yes, the front office folks are nice. Dr. Tannous was NOT at all listening to what I had to say. I am proactive in my health and went in with a few ideas of what could be wrong and she dismissed all of them. I honestly believe it was because I am self pay. WHAT the heck difference does it make. If I am willing to pay cash for a service then I should get that service. She said my leg pains could not be coming from my lower back? WHAT...of course they can be. She also said that bursitis was not in your knees, the sacs are only in your hips. WHAT, there is such a thing as Knee Bursitis and there are bursa sacs in surrounding your knees...NOT according to Dr. Tannous. Would NEVER go there again...I should have listened to my instincts.

Severely annoyed with Dr. Victoria Flores. I voiced my concern of having dark pleghm and sinus infection along with possible flu. Went to see another none ARC doctor put on antibiotics to cure bacteria infection. Waste of money and time. Will Never see her again!
