I have been a patient at Westlake Eye specialist for about four years now. Overall, my experience has been great. Very nice staff and doctors! Although the office may be far from my home, it is worth the trip because of the great service that they provide. I’d recommend anyone with specific eye conditions or just anyone who needs to see an ophthalmologist to come here.

Dr Plummer was wonderful and took time to explain what was going on with my eyelid and how to treat the problem. I would highly recommend him because he was knowledgeable, thorough, thoughtful, and kind.Very pleased with my visit.

She approached my issues like a detective, looking at all the possibilities and then eliminating the ones that did not pass the tests. The actual tests went fine but the appointment took forever. My daughter went with me to the appointment thinking she could come in and listen to what they suggested. But instead she had to wait three hours in the car. I should have been told when I made the appointment that no one but myself could go inside.

Staff seemed rude medical assistant that took my grandmother back seemed like she was getting frustrated with her. And Dr. Vendal had attitude with her she did not have good bed side manner . Also the surgery coordinator couldn’t even tell me if my grandmother insurance plan will cover or not she just told us worst case you will pay $600- 700 dollars out of pocket ??? She was not helpful at all

Dr. Saulny recognized the issue with my eyelids right away and explained in terms I could easily understand , with examples. Im looking forward to the procedure once the insurance authorization and cost is determined.

It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish.

Very disappointed today, my appointment was for 3pm I waited patiently and another Doctor had called me in which is not the doctor I normally see. I was then sent back to the waiting room where I began to wait for another 45 min . Another patient walked in and within 5 minutes they were in with the Doctor. I walked up to the counter and asked why I’ve been waiting for over an hour? The receptionist said the other Doctor had put my file in checkout. I do not appreciate this type of treatment and I wanted to make it clear that this office needs some help. I’m very upset and now I didn’t get seen when I was waiting for this appointment.

In for my annual review and met Dr. Marshall for the second time. Very pleasant and explained all that is going on with my eyes. Going back in 6 months.Way TOO much paperwork though. I have been under Dr Vindals care for years, dealing with both cataracts and potential glaucoma. During that time, both the doctor and the office have consistently been well organized, highly professional and friendly. I feel confident that the care I am getting is top grade and plan to continue here as long as I am in Austin.

I had this office perform cataract surgery and it went extremely well. Their test equipment and doctors up to the latest knowledge make the the place to get your eyes taken care of.

I would like to thank Dr. Saulny and his staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt as if I was in good hands. I had a chalazion that was giving me grief and was starting to affect my vision. I spoke to several other ophthalmologists and they said they would have to see me first and then decide if they would remove it or LEAVE IT IN. Thats when I took a chance and called Westlake Eye Specialists. They got me in the next day! I went in, and they took care of it quickly and efficiently. Dr. Saulny even made small talk with me while he was giving me local anesthetic since he noticed I was nervous. 2 days later and Im healing great and feeling like my old self! Thank you so much!

Blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery) was quick with little pain or complication.

First, I would like to state that I have been a patient at this office for many years and had satisfactory experiences in the past. However, my recent visit did not go well.Dr. Vendal spent very little time with me and barely explained my eye condition. The technician struggled with some of the testing equipment and some tests had to be redone.Most importantly, if you are diagnosed with MGD (Meibomian gland dysfunction) I implore you to obtain a second opinion. The diagnosis was correct, but the treatment plan was not and would have made my condition worse. I had severe inflammation and dryness. Without addressing those issues first the warm compresses, Lipiflow and IPL would have exasperated my condition and kept me coming back for more treatments. They do not appear to have the proper training and lipiflow is an old treatment. I will not be returning.Sadly it seems like dry eye has become a cash cow for some ophthalmologists.

Very friendly staff. Happy with my experience there. I like the fact that they have easy access to the on call eye doctor if you need it. The only negative experience I had was that one of the on-call docs didnt call me for 2 days. However, the manager was great in working with me to get an emergency appt, fitting me into the docs tight schedule.

Dr. Saulny gave my problem quality and thorough attention that I did not receive from other doctors.

Have been seeing Vendal since being diagnosed with glaucoma, roughly 2 years. She’s highly knowledgeable without talking over your head. She is invested in your understanding of your condition, status and treatment options, including the ever evolving hell of health insurance coverage and limitations for the less fortunate - my circumstances. She listens without rushing you and is not offended by the vernacular.

Office is clean and professional. Check in was timely, and the office seemed to have all of the needed state of the art equipment to facilitate accurate and quick diagnosis. Dr Stanciu was knowledgeable, efficient, and thorough, and she took time to understand my situation and clearly outlined next steps. A very positive experience. From the receptionists to the assistants to the doctors. They really take the time to listen and explain what is going on and what is going to happen.Even the maintenance staff who are around the facility are polite and helpful. I wasnt able to find close handicap parking. As my parents and I began to walk. One of the staff in a golf cart asked if anything was wrong? I said: No we are walking to the eye doctors office. I’ve gone here for the past 20 years. Today, for the 2nd time in a row, they canceled my appointment when I showed up because my referral expired the day before. Wouldn’t it be nice if patients and the doctor’s office worked together to make sure everything is set before the appointment takes place? They don’t seem very empathetic either.

This eye practice is the best Ive been to in my 65 years! The staff is always friendly from the front desk, assistants to the doctors. Natalie Stanchiu is an absolute professional, explains procedures thoroughly and shows compassion at every visit. Just had a brow lift to see better and she did a terrific job! Healing well after two days post-surgery. I highly recommend this office. Dr. Andreason did both cataract surgeries with perfection.

Checked in for appointment and found out our regular optemologist had not sent over our records. Luckily the staff called over for our records and got them IMMEDIATELY and was able to keep our appointment. Dr. Vendal went over my mothers lifestyle as well to help her decide which kind of lens to choose from. She was so precise during surgery that my mother did not experience most of the irritability that is customary to post op. Because of the success to correct my eyesight issues, I would highly recommend Westlake Eye Specialist along with Dr Andreason.

Dr. Stan Saulny was the physician who examined my mother today. He and the staff at Westlake Eye Specialists were efficient, friendly, professional and very, very thorough. The camaraderie between the staff and Dr. Saulny is palpable. Dr. Saulny took the time to be sure every question was answered and every concern, addressed. He has the best bedside manner with none of the occasional condescension or med-speak that one sometimes encounters with medical providers. He is sincere, very approachable, and brilliant. He has this wondrous down to earth quality of being able to distill the most complicated of medical terminology into understandable/digestible bite sized pieces. Most importantly, because he takes the time to be thorough, he is truly patient with his patients. I am grateful to Dr. Saulny and his wonderful staff in their superb care of my mother.

This practice(kyle) and the one in westlake are great... Yes you usually have to wait but how do you rush perfection. From the receptionist, techs and the doctors are excellent and make sure you are aware of whats going on. I would highly recomend this practice to anyone especially who is a diabetic like I am. I would also highly recomend you get your check ups like you are suppost to... I almost went blind from not getting my vision check ups and had my surgery done on 2/27/2019 by Dr. Vendal who was awesome by the way and I am getting some of my vision back. So despite a few negative reviews on google about having to wait at a dr appointment i have absolutely no complaints and im speaking from experience about my encounters with this great practice.

Only one thing I did not approve of out of all the many years they have taken care of my eyes, I had to pay an extra fee to obtain my glasses prescription. This was after insurance had paid for all of the tests. So the info was already in their computers for 2019, yet they had to charge me an extra $50.00.Something to do with insurance changes I guess. All they had to do was print out a copy.

Everything went fine. Didnt like having to update my info on tablet.
