The waiting room is spacious and always very quiet and peaceful.  Ladies are reception are efficient.  When I check in all my documents are ready for me to sign. There has never been an issue with processing my insurance.  There was a complication getting some medication; they stayed on top of the insurance process to get it thru the hoops to approval.I see Dr. Aubrechtova and absolutely love her! She comes off like a real person, not a staid doctor. She clearly explains your diagnosis or your current situation and what your treatment plan should be.  I appreciated that she didnt go straight to extreme treatment when I came in, and instead began conservatively to see what progress I could see with it.

Horrible. Cant get my medications or treatments in a timely manner. Their phone hours make it extremely difficult to talk to anyone. Ive been trying to get a simple prescription called into my pharmacy for 6 weeks and am no closer than the day I walked out of their office. Impossible to work with.

Dr Werchan has horrible bedside manner and I would absolutely not recommend him! He doesn’t listen well, interrupts, and is impolite. He spoke to us like we were idiots and did not have the intellect to understand the situation. My mom and I both have backgrounds in the medical field, which he was unaware of, and we are quite capable of understanding this type of information. We were both deeply offended by him! His lack of empathy for our situation was also atrocious!

Negligent care. Dr. Aubrechtova simply does not answer my calls or return voicemails: I cant renew a necessary prescription, I cant start a new medication with a Primary Care Physician (PCP) because the PCP needs a my neuro to sign off (and they will not answer my PCP either). Extremely frustrating and a barrier to care.

Doctor Werchan is really helpful and attentive. Gave us all of his time and attention and gave us multiple options to treat my mother’s pain.Coming back to say I don’t know how I feel about Dr. Werchan. When telling my mom bad news, his bedside manner was awful. He kept referring to the surgeon as the plumber and didn’t really answer her questions. He treated surgery as if it wasn’t a big deal and was very careless about my moms feelings.

I went to see Dr. Verona about a possible sinus migraine. The offices were shabby, there was a large dead cockroach in the bathroom and when I told the front desk they just shrugged it off. I then saw Dr. Verona and after a brief conversation about my history and symptoms, he began asking me about my birth control use after I told him that I used a barrier method he then stated that either my husband or myself should consider tubal ligation. I told him I wasnt interested but he made several more comments about how its something we should consider, he then went on to say that the reason he was saying this is because some medications are really bad for fetuses however they arent the most effective anyway. I was already uncomfortable about his assistance that I get sterilized on the off change that a medication might work for me, (why not suggest assistance during a trial period first?) and then when he said they wouldnt be the first hed try anyway I became even more uncomfortable at his repeated insistence that I consider a tubal ligation. The whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth. I saw him once more and again he brought up the tubal ligation and asked me to come back in 4 months to see if the medication he did prescribe would work. During that period it became apparent to me that the medication was not working and I was dreading my follow up appointment because I felt certain he would try and pressure me to get sterilized just so he could TRY other medications that may not even work. So I asked me ENT for a referral to a different neurologist. I happened to be referred to another doctor in the same practice (Dr. Abrechtova) and when I called to make the appointment the receptionist was very rude when she found out that I had perviously seen Dr. Verona and told me I wasnt allowed to switch doctors. Even after I told her my reasons she wouldnt allow me to switch and she wouldnt even let me speak with either doctor and then she hung up on me. I did call back and was able to convince her to at least give Dr. Verona a note asking him if I could speak with him about switching doctors and she called me back saying that both doctors decided that I should find a different practice. So all this to say, I had a very negative experience and do not recommend this practice at all. I trust my ENT and do believe Dr. Hana Abrechtova is probably great, however the way the office is run, the policies and the general uncleanliness are enough for me to recommend you stay away.

I have been a patient of Dr. Aubrechtovas for several years now. While her care was fine (although she often seemed distracted), the office staff has always left much to be desired (with an exception here and there, of course). What finally spurred me to officially leave the practice was going in a couple of weeks ago and having to tell EVERYONE except Dr. Aubrechtova to put a mask on. From the front office staff to the nurses, no one was wearing a mask. I consider this completely inappropriate and unsafe, especially considering how many older patients the office sees. I was actually told that the nurses do not have to wear masks at the nurses station, which is a desk by which every patient walks. I do not write negative reviews of doctors offices for much, but this was flat out appalling and negligent.

Very disappointed in Sarah Granger. A friend said she was very nice and she was nice, but unfortunately she was also distracted the whole time I was there. She didnt seem very interested in what I had to say. Heard only one or two things, and was quick to suggest a terribly wrong diagnosis. She nice but maybe not very intelligent. If she continues to see patients I hope she will develop more caring for them.

Dr. Werchan is a Rock Star!!!! He is hands down one of the BEST doctors Ive ever been too in my life. He is all encompassing, body spirit and mind, and sincerely cares about his patients. Im thrilled to have found Dr. W, he is one of a kind and a true gem in Austin, where good health care can be difficult to find. Proud to call him my neurologist. Ive already referred my co-workers to him!

Excellent appointment with Dr. Walter Werchan that I attended with a family member. Highly focused, compassionate, bright, and very clear with information as to how to begin to remedy a situation. Clear and direct, Dr. Werchan is, and he was recommended by an Internal Medicine Dr, who spoke highly of him. Dr. Werchan is impressive and astute; pro-active for his patients...

I wish I could leave a review separate of the doctor and staff. 5 for the doctor, 2 for whomever is dealing with questions in patient portal. They really do not like you calling trying to find the status of if you will even get an appointment. That being said the actual appointment went fine.I had heard and seen horrible reviews about bedside manner and the front desk. My experience with Dr. Hussain was great. He listened and even thought I may have the same diagnosis that I had been researching. The staff: 2 starsPart of my symptoms is affected memory and knowing that I do not remember well any more I listed my heart rate and pertinent information in the patient portal. I did this before I drove 2 hours into town to see him.The staff DID NOT SHARE IT WITH HIM. In the appointment he was asking me questions I had already stated so he had some info and in case I forgot. They answered me back when I specifically said my memory is not as good due to what is going on... that You can discuss them with Dr Hussain when you see him.Do not bother with the patient portal because apparently the doctors will never see it or be notified. This is not an issue at other doctor offices I have seen and is very unprofessional handling. This needs to be addressed and fast for patients who really need it.

Don’t walk but RUN to Dr. Verona! He was amazing, patient, kind, thorough, helpful...I could go on and on!I recently saw another neurologist in Austin and had a terrible experience, so after a friend told me about Dr. Verona, I thought I would give his office a try.To my surprise, I left feeling so happy, so relieved and somewhat emotional, because I feel like I finally have a plan to attack my migraines!Dr. Verona did not “throw medicine” at me, but he also didn’t tell me to just “take 4 Advil and good luck next time you have a migraine”. I left with a plan to help prevent AND treat my migraines.I also really liked that Dr. Verona actually referenced the paperwork I filled out. He asked me questions about it, took notes, discussed my history and based my treatment on my past and current situation. In addition to Dr. Verona being a really nice person, his staff was courteous and friendly too! All of my phone calls have been returned the same day too!Dr. Verona’s office uses a cool texting program that sends you a text when a prescription is called in for you. I confirmed my pharmacy through this program and picked the time I needed it ready- so convenient! It also gave me a coupon card to give the pharmacist if needed!Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Verona and his staff. I didn’t feel like just a number, I felt like I was treated like a human being who needed help and was given it patiently!I highly recommend Dr. Verona!

I had a great experience with Dr. Walter Werchan. He tells it like it is and was very informative - 5 stars for him....buuuuut....The practice REALLY needs to catch up with the times and improve upon a few items (IMHO):- Patient portal: They should implement one to aid in patient interaction, especially when the front desk is unable to answer calls.- Customer service: I hate to say it but their front desk people are a little cold, no smiles, or welcoming. Tone goes a long way.- Phone system recording: This touches on my prior point and that is, tone. The person who recorded their messages sounds very drab, in a hurry, and unwelcoming. Im sure shes a WOOONDERFUL lady but lordy...Still, it seems like a great practice and Im looking forward to working with them =)

Dr. Werchen is a SAINT. I am a disabled veteran who suffers from a traumatic brain injury. I have been BATTLING with the veterans affairs for treatment for almost 2 years. Due to the COVID outbreak, all of my appointments with the VA have been canceled, and i ended up having a mild stroke and seizure. The VA, of course, could not care any less, so BLESSING IN DISGUISE, we found Dr. Werchen. He has not only been the BEST doctor I have EVER seen (and that is saying a lot), but he gets things done! It’s like he actually wants to help me get better (something the VA docs don’t know how to do). He has been caring, compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable. Dr. Werchen is a go-getter and wants the best for his patients. I’m also having trouble with the VA and them covering these appointments, and Dr. Werchen has been working with me so patiently on it and still giving me care. One more thing, not only is he an amazing neurologist, he is an incredible doctor who knows so much about the body and can answer probably any question you have.PLEASE, if you or anyone you know has any type of neuro problems or migraines or anything, send them to DR. WERCHEN!! (Also his assistant, nurse, i think she is, is LOVELY and so sweet).

I never leave reviews but I feel the need to warn folks about this place. I was told by the receptionist that my insurance went through and that they would definitely cover my visit with only a specialist cost of $60. I later received a bill of $500 for the full visit cost that only lasted 15 minutes and was not helpful at all. My insurance told me the neurological clinic never sent them the referral I had provided and because of this the insurance would not be able to pay. Months later after numerous conversations with the clinic they are still claiming it is my fault and I just paid them because of threats from collections. I am so very disappointed in the unprofessional manner this clinic handled my one and only visit. I will never go here again.

He cares, is super friendly and is the first doctor Ive actually trusted to do whats best for me. So a thousand thank yous. The staff is also sweet and helpful and whenever I call they go above and beyond to help me. Have nothing negative to say about this place. - J. Ruppert

I saw Dr. Werchan in October 2016 and he was exceptionally knowledgeable and supportive. He listened intently to my medical history and symptoms, and advocated for me to receive an MRI the same afternoon as my appointment. Because of Dr. Werchans skills and expertise, I received the testing and treatment that I needed and am now fully recovered from a spinal surgery which removed a tumor that was compressing my spinal cord. Even after my surgery, Dr. Werchan and the team at Austin Neurological Clinic have followed up to ensure that I am doing well. The care Dr. Werchan has for his patients is evident.
