I was very disappointed in how I spent hours on the phone between my insurance company and the UC billing department only to find out many calls later, I was classified as self-pay and the only person who was kind enough to tell me was the receptionist when I asked what my cost would be and she directed me to the estimates dept. I would have been willing to pay out of pocket had I received a call in advance letting me know what my cost would be. I find this to be so deceptive and disheartening. I really like the staff but the insurance/billing process needs improvement and I am now receiving care elsewhere and cheaper too! The other thing I find troubling is how I was charged for a facility fee when I had gone to their own clinic, not the hospital and am now stuck with almost $500 doctors visit instead of a copay. God bless you.

Dr. Ferril was amazing from my first appointment continuing on even now post op. He did an amazing job helping me to finally breathe out of the right side of my nose. I’m almost three weeks post op and I am very pleased with him and his entire staff his preop nurses and his clinic staff were all very nice. Dr. Ferril and his preop/postop staff made my surgery so relaxing and I was very calm and comfortable even arriving nervous I was assured it would all be fine and made comfortable by the staff and by time I was going to sleep in the OR I wasn’t even nervous anymore. Amazing post op care as well. All around great patient care.

Great overall experience! Kind nursing staff and helpful drs. But I also wanted to take the time to give a shout out to Kathy at the front desk, for very much going above and beyond, and making me feel like someone honestly cared about my well being and overall experience. If front desk staff everywhere were as kind and patient as Kathy, the world would be a better place! Keep up the good work ENT team!!

After much research my husband and I were incredibly excited that, with very few in the US, we actually located a taste and smell clinic in Denver. Perusing the bios, Dr. Kingdom’s work with disgeusia made him the likely candidate. However, It did not take long to have our hopes dashed. After asking questions and doing an exam, Dr K made it clear that there isn’t really anything he can do.He added that, as a matter fact, there isn’t actually a taste and smell disorder clinic in Denver, as there aren’t enough patients to support one. Furthermore, he didn’t really have any pertinent information for me, other than to suggest that I should get used to following my current diet of Ensure & Boost in an effort to keep from needing a feeding tube. Dr. Kingdom had no other recommendations, referrals, or suggestions.I will say that Dr Kingdom did not rush me and listened patiently as I described a life where things taste vile and my lips stick to my teeth when I try to speak to someone. Although he appeared sympathetic, sympathy does not help this condition. I left with a heavy heart. The overall experience was devastating. I expected, after reading up on Denver’s specialty clinic and the unique qualifications of the doctors, to have had a much different experience, No one should have to experience what I did.I respectfully request that UCHealth look into this matter and either remove all references to the existence of such a clinic, or hire doctors who have the education, experience, and skill to help patients struggling to fing answers in this underrepresented area.

One year ago I was selected as a candidate for a Cochlear Implant. My audiologist suggested going here as the quality of care, experience, and teamwork by all the doctors and staff would result in the best possible outcome. I live 375 miles away, taking into account it would require 12 or more trips plus added expenses it was the best outcome as the deciding factor. I had severe to profound hearing loss in both ears, with one CI and a paired hearing aid my right side is restored to a slight loss ability with an 89% word recognition in noisy conditions. Prior results before the implant was 22%. The quality of life I have now I’m truly grateful to those who helped me achieve. I would recommend it to anyone as you don’t realize what your missing!

I came here in July for a simple ENT appointment for an ear wax cleaning. I paid over $200 for out-of-pocket physician fee. Then, without having been told up front, received a $1000 facility fee, only half of which my insurance covered. Why in the world am I paying over $700, after insurance, for a 5 minute cleaning. This wasn’t a surgery. I only came here because the doctor was recommended to me. I will obviously never be back, and will warn everyone I know about this absurd “facility fee”. I’ve never experienced this and have only spent $75 at best for a simple doctor visit. I’m disgusted.

I made an appt to see Dr. Green. Once I arrived (on time) to the hospital campus, I was stuck in the main parking lot because it was ALL valet. I had to go across the street and walk back over. Because of this, I was 26 min late. Once I spoke to the person at the front desk, I was told that I would need to wait to see if they would still see me even though I called while still in my car to let them know I couldnt find parking. I said that I was missing work and that I needed to be seen so I would wait. After waiting 45 min, I was asked to pay my copay and answer the usual questions, and only after paying I was told it would be at least another 30 min. I told her that it would have been nice to have been told that before paying and going through all of that. I then asked to refund me the copay. I asked if she needed anything else from me and she said no. She didnt ask if I would like to reschedule or anything. I started to leave and I said This has been a great waste of my time. As Im walking away she says Your attitude sucks!I was very clearly frustrated because of the parking and the wait, and I didnt try to hide that fact, but I never raised my voice or said anything rude to her. No patient should ever be spoken to that way. Ever. Know one knows what someone has gone though that day or if they are in pain, etc. I cant believe how I was spoken to and treated. I will never return!

Whilst my appointment was good, the fees to see a doctor at this office is insane!! The hospital bills you in ADDITION to the physician. The office visit alone totaled over $700. had a 30 second laryngoscopy that totaled over $1300. This is why health insurance is out of control! Ill use a physician at a regular office in the future and avoid any office that is situated inside a hospital. you are ultimately charged double!

I have been diagnosed with Lyme and toxic mold by a Functional Medicine doctor who is absolutely wonderful. I was going to be in Denver, so I figured Id take the opportunity to make an appointment with a highly regarded ENT at a research facility to see if he had any insight to my sinus issues that seem related to my diagnosis or are my symptoms a separate issue. When I made the appointment, I was told I would have to pay a $500 deposit and the appointment may cost up to $1500. As any smart consumer (especially one who has been giving the run around in the Western Medicine world), I asked if I could interview the doctor or the doctors staff before committing to paying such a large amount of money for one doctors appointment. The receptionist basically told me that interviewing the staff was not going to happen, but that Dr Kingdom works with mold and Lyme patients.Long story short, I left my $500 appointment with Dr Kingdom defending my mental status, his questioning me who diagnosed me (I had all of my professional lab results with me, but there went unveiled), etc.I am currently applying for a refund. After leaving the hospital, I read reviews of the doctor. The word that is most prevalent in all of the reviews is arrogant.

Let me start by saying Im a cancer patient at UCH and the Oncology staff is incredible. Due to my condition I get frequent mouth and nose bleeds that can be difficult to control which usually ends up in an emergency visit.During the time there the ENT doctors used SurgiCell pads to stop the mouth/nose bleed. I was advised that I would need to removed the SurgiCell pads in 2-3 days. I was advised I would here from a ENT staff member to schedule the appointment or to call Friday. The Surgicell was done on 6/20.I made a call to the ENT clinic and spoke with a Scheduling Assistant and asked her to call me back because the call took over 20 minutes and asked her to figure things out. I never received a call back and am worried the SurgiCell has been in my mouth too long.Im going to continue to post reviews here instead of surveys so people are aware of what I consider patient neglect and neglect of serious matter considering my uncurable diagnosis.
