A few weeks ago, I fractured my jaw. However what wasn’t known at that time, was that I also fractured a tooth. About one week ago, I developed a tooth ache that quickly escalated to some of the worst pain of my life. Dr. Pick and this team saw me right away and I had the tooth extracted. As soon as I arrived at the office, Gosia and Sonja were by my side the whole time, helping to make me as comfortable as possible. Dr. Pick came in right away and was so kind and reassuring to me and explained to me exactly what was going to happen. I felt as if I was in the best hands possible. I also have the implant appointment coming up in a few months, and I don’t have a worry in my mind that the surgery won’t go smoothly. Apprehension to dental procedures that involve surgery are always a bit scary. Dr Pick and his team put me at ease at my initial consultation. Dr Pick was very thorough with his evaluation of the defect that I had with one of my molars. He was able to educate me on what was happening and how he would correct the problem. On the day of surgery to have a bone graft I was a little anxious. I would have to say the worst part of the procedure was the fear of what I thought was coming. After several injections of novocaine, which went quickly and with little discomfort I relaxed and let Dr Pick and his assistant use their skills to correct the problem. I have to say the procedure went quickly and I had no discomfort, aside from having to have my mouth open which was tiring. The recovery was pretty easy as well, I was even able to work my full 10 hour schedule doing hair the next day. Thank you Dr Pick and staff for a job well done. The care and attention that I received was outstanding, from consultation all the way to follow up calls and assurances that if I needed anything I could call to ask questions and he would be available to answer any concerns that I might have.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Pick and his magnificent team from about 2000 to 2016! Yes, almost 2 decades! Why am I writing a review FOUR YEARS after leaving Illinois? Well, because I still consider myself a patient of his and recently sought his advice off the clock. Of course, he was spot on and helped me arrive at the obvious, be reluctant conclusion. The reason I went to him boils down to one key word...TRUST! The relationship I developed with Dr. Pick and his team was founded upon a partnership basically.Being a recipient of not the best genes, I split my dental care between Dr. Pick and my referring dentist. The three of us basically made an agreement to do whatever we could to preserve the teeth and bone I presented with upon working with them. Of course, there were unforeseen (by me), further genetic complications that led to extractions and implants. I was never scared or surprised, because he was upfront and took the time to answer all of my questions. A testament to how amazing a practitioner Dr. Pick is, is when I first saw my current (out of state) Periodontist and when they see the work thats been done, its always met with a, Nice work!.In closing, Id recommend Dr. Pick as a Chicagoland treasure! We were referred to Dr Pick from our orthodontist for our 9 year old daughter’s ankylosed baby tooth. There is a new procedure that is less invasive and Dr Pick has experience with such procedure. The staff were extremely friendly and informative as was Dr Pick. We were able to have our daughter be put at ease as there was some anxiety leading up to the day of the procedure. From the moment we stepped in the doors until the procedure was complete, there was never a doubt in my mind that we were in the best place for this procedure. I had a PAIN-FREE, amazing dental experience! I had a tooth extraction and was quite anxious. Dr. Pick calmed me down the day before and he and his staff had me feeling quite relaxed during the whole experience. I still cant believe it!

Dr. Pick just completed my 4th or 5th surgical procedure. (I’ve lost count, but one was an implant.) This time it was an extraction of a molar that we (they) have been watching for quite awhile. I was in no pain, but Vanessa (the hygienist) noticed some infection. During the extraction an infected cyst was removed without incident. Not only did I feel no pain during the procedure, there was (once again!) no discomfort of any kind in the days after. I simply followed their instructions.Dr. Pick’s entire team is highly skilled and very much concerned with the care and comfort of their patients. Dr. Pick himself is a gentle magician.

I have had YEARS of struggling with bad teeth, and as a result, I have had some really bad experiences with dentists. I have had difficult extractions, root canals, crowns, and most recently, teeth breaking under the crowns. I waited almost 5 YEARS to find an oral surgeon who I felt comfortable with to address a needed implant.I visited several oral surgeons / periodontists in this journey. I came to Dr. Pick and Progressive Periodontics & Implants on the basis of a friend’s recommendations. I was NOT disappointed. My dentist sent me to Progressive Periodontics for gum surgery. After a thorough and informative consultation during which Dr. Robert Pick put me very much at ease, the staff scheduled the procedure. Facing oral surgery can be scary. However, Dr. Pick and his staff quickly put me at ease. In addition to his absolute professionalism, Dr. Picks ongoing step-by-step explanations of the procedure - not to mention his clever humor - virtually eliminated my anxiety. The procedure went extremely well and my gums healed quickly.Since then, my dentist has sent me to Progressive Periodontics twice for a procedure known as crown lengthening. It would be best for Dr. Pick to explain it as he definitely has a way with words. On both occasions, Dr. Pick and his staff performed with the utmost professionalism.The support and office staff at Progressive Periodontics is nothing less than professional. Dr. Pick and his staff were AMAZING! I was nervous about having a Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft, but he and his team put my worries at ease. When I arrived at the office I was able to go into a “quiet” room and begin relaxing before my procedure. Someone came in and checked on me every few minutes before the procedure itself.The procedure went smoothly, but what really stood out to me was when I had questions about medications and aftercare, I was able to text Dr. Pick and the team themselves, even on the day when they were not in the office and someone would always respond. They even sent me a video chat to see how I was feeling.Fast forward a month out and you can’t tell that I had any work done! My graft received 100% repair and root coverage, which was more than I was expecting. I knew my dentist recommended Dr. Pick and his staff for a reason. Not only is Dr. Pick great at what he does, but he and his staff genuinely care about the well being of their patients and have a great sense of humor, which I appreciate. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I strongly recommend Dr Pick and his staff for any periodontal needs you may have. His attention to detail, subject matter expertise and overall care of his patients is beyond compare. I went to see Dr. Pick when I learned from my regular dentist that I had split a molar down to the root and it would need to come out. My regular dentist is an excellent dentist and without hesitation he strongly recommend Dr Pick. After going for a consult with Dr Pick I could quickly see why. Dr Pick performed a very complicated implant surgery on my cracked molar having to extract it first and then do a sinus lift in order to be able to do the implant. Throughout the entire process Dr Pick and his staff kept me informed and were so highly attentive to my needs and making sure I was in no pain. He did a magnificent job and because of him, I now have a bionic tooth! Its better than the original and I dont have a bridge to contend with that would have failed in a period of 10 or so years. Thank you so much Dr Pick for all that you do. Your professionalism and attention to detail along with compassion and care for your patients is stellar! Having implant surgery is not an easy process. I have never known a surgeon with more expertise as Dr. Pick. I cant thank Dr. Pick and his staff enough for the tremendous care and compassion I received. It was so much more than I ever expected. All costs and full knowledge of procedures were fully explained. No surprises. There is simply no one better.

Dr. Pick, and his entire staff, are just wonderful people!! Nobody likes going to doctors, especially when it involves your teeth, but there is no need for apprehension about going to see Dr. Pick. I was not officially referred to this practice by another dentist, but my Grandmother was a patient here, and had many implants done. She had such positive experiences with Dr. P that, when I needed a periodontist, there was no question as to who I would see. I, for better or for worse, inherited my grandmas genes for dental issues! I have had 3 oral surgeries and check ups every 6 months for maintenence, along with check ups from my general dentist. I rarely ever write a review, but in this case a great Dentist like Dr Pick must to be commented on. I was scared to death of having a broken tooth pulled, let alone an implant done, until I was referred to Dr Pick by my former dentist office. He told me what to expect. He talked to me explaining what he was doing, and by the time he had finished extracting my tooth I was thoroughly relaxed. That had never happened before! Dr Pick has a great sense of humor as well and made me feel comfortable. I must mention his staff. They are great as well. I felt like part of his family! After he did my first implant, I joked with him saying I need to break another tooth. It just so happened I did. Well, since Dr Pick had done my first implant, I have returned to him for 4 more. Absolutely the best care I have ever had!I admit to being terrified the first time I walked into Progressive Periodontal. My first impression was that the office is very well decorated and I felt a little more calm because of the surroundings. Little did I know that my visit would become one of many for years to come now and I would grow to feel very at home with Doctor Pick and his entire staff. There has not been one time that I was not greeted immediately and made to feel like I was more than just another patient. I love the camaraderie among all the staff there including their relationship with Dr. Pick. They seem like a big family. I recently told them I would love to go out for a margarita with them all!Professionally, I feel like I made an excellent choice by returning to this office for my extensive periodontal work. I can not say enough about my experience working with Dr. Pick and his ENTIRE staff! I recently had a gum-graft on my front teeth. Everyone took the time to make me feel comfortable, and Dr. Pick kept me informed throughout the entire procedure. I was in NO pain during the graft (something Dr. Pick insists upon), and I had very little discomfort even a day later. Dr. Pick and his staff are absolutely amazing. I recently had a gum graft done across three of my lower teeth, and I can’t believe how well it went. Dr. Pick and his staff did an excellent job from the time I walked in for my consultation to the last follow up appointment after surgery. They really care about their patients. The procedure was explained to me so that I understood exactly what was going to happen. They answered all my questions. Before surgery started, I was asked my preference for background music to make me feel comfortable. During the surgery, I had the option of hearing the step by step details of the procedure as it was happening, a high level explanation or to hear anything but what was actually taking place. I chose the detailed step by step and I can honestly say it felt like the procedure was being done on someone else. The surgery went so well it far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Pick called me in the evening to check in on me (my surgery was earlier that morning). I was in the process of moving to another state and he suggested we do my last follow up visit via FaceTime which was great since I didn’t have to delay my moving plans. I would fly back to see him if I ever needed anything done in the future. I would highly recommend Dr. Pick and his staff, and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you!

I have been seeing Dr. Pick off and on for several years. First of all, I am man enough to admit I have a lot of fear regarding getting ANY dental work. From the first time I went to see Dr. Pick, he and his staff have always treated me gently, and with kindness, and great compassion. All of his staff members are really nice, and very good at what they do. Sonya is especially wonderful. She is a very special person, and always makes me feel safe and well taken care of when I have to go there for an appt. And Dr. Pick just happens to be one of the kindest medical or dental professionals I have ever seen in my entire life. He has a great bedside manner. His credentials and expertise are also top notch, and I would not consider seeing anyone else for my periodontal needs. I highly recommend these folks.

I wanted to share my experience at Progressive Periodontics recently...but first a bit about me. I am in my late 40s and have gone to the dentist around 10 total times my entire life; mostly due to severe anxiety while getting dental work done. The dentist is a painful experience for me. Needless to say, I now have dental issues. After being referred to PPI and Dr Picks team, he was notified from my primary about my anxiety. Dr Pick and his staff were warm and welcoming. Not just the receptionist but while all staff members were performing their tasks, almost all of them greeted myself and my wife. We waited a brief 5 minutes until we were greeted by Dr Pick himself and a few of his key team members. We spent the next 15 minutes just talking about some of my history and how one of his objectives was to help me overcome my fear of the dentist (and obviously correct my prior negligence). Dr Pick and team went above and beyond explaining the procedure and ensuring I was comfortable with the procedure. The procedure was a complete success. Everything was so smooth and the work his staff did left me feeling like I could one day become a responsible dental patient, which I currently am not. Then something amazing happened. The day after the procedure, I received a text from a number I did not recognize. When I opened the text, it was a video message that Dr Pick and staff videod from their phone to make sure I was feeling OK and recovering as planned from the procedure. A 45 second video with key team members all representing their genuine concern for my well being. I was literally taken back. After showing the video message to my wife, she insisted we send them flowers. I dont normally post reviews, but I wanted to express how incredible Dr Pick and team were. If you need any specialty dental work done, you will not find a better practice than Progressive Periodontics with Dr Pick and team.

My dentist recommended that I visit a periodontist to address a fissure behind my bottom lower front teeth that was leading to bone loss. Im so glad I chose Dr. Pick because my situation turned out to be so much worse. I had over 60% bone loss and an infection on the root of a tooth that would have led to me loosing my four front teeth in a matter of months. He is an expert in his craft and not only saved my teeth, but strengthened the area with a large graph of connective tissue. My teeth are more secure and Im back to eating chicken wings. Thank you Dr. Pick and staff!

I cannot say enough positive things about this practice! Every staff member I met or dealt with was personable and friendly. And Dr. Pick himself was no exception. It is obvious he prides himself on an unparalleled bedside manner - from the moment you step into the office until the time you walk out he treats you as I imagine he treats his own family members. Questions never go unanswered and he goes above and beyond to ensure for the duration of your appointment you feel comfortable and at ease. Before my surgery he took the time to explain things in detail so I knew what to expect, repeatedly asked if I was doing okay during the procedure, and personally checked up on me post-surgery. It was obvious he truly cared about my experience during the surgery as well as the recovery.As if my personal experience wasnt enough, I was doubly impressed when one of my dental hygienist family members sang his praises for a procedure well done. She has worked with many patients who have had tissue grafts performed by other periodontists, and has NEVER had anyone give as positive a report as I. In fact she plans on referring patients at her general dentistry office to Dr. Pick when they have needs that require a specialist!It is beyond evident that Dr. Pick not only provides the most up-to-date procedures but more importantly that he actually cares about you as a person, which unfortunately is not easy to find in doctors. If all medical professionals put the same amount of effort into showing the care and concern for their patients as Dr. Pick, this world would be a better place. Sounds cliché but it is oh so true. Dr Pick and his team are the most positive, caring, knowledgeable, kind and gentle health care providers I have ever encountered! When I was told several years ago that I needed gum surgery for my receding gums, I thought Id put it off as long as possible. Please dont do what I did! The recession only gets worse and you can easily lose your teeth.Thank goodness my current dentist referred me to Dr Pick! I knew I was in excellent hands as soon as I met him and his team. On the day of surgery, I came in feeling calm, and confident that I would be well cared for. My surgery went amazingly well! It was pain free, thanks to Dr Pick’s delivery of local anesthesia. The recovery was so much better than I ever expected (and 100 times better than others had described to me)! Dr Pick’s follow-up care is more than outstanding. He called to check on me the evening of my surgery; he also re-iterated that I should call him anytime, day or night with any questions. The next morning, Dr Pick and his incredible assistants sent me a video text message. I cannot express how well cared for I felt from the first time I met Dr Pick and his team through follow-up care.If you need periodontal or dental implant work, don’t hesitate to see Dr Pick and his team. I was referred to Dr. Pick by my dentist. He said, this guy is the best for the work you need done. And he was SO RIGHT! Dr. Pick is the best. I had 2 procedures done. Skin graft and tooth implant. First I was so scared for both procedures but honestly it wasnt bad at all. Both of them went so smooth. I thank Dr Pick for saving my tooth that needed a skin graft. Just years of brushing too hard, my gum recessed, exposing the root of the tooth. Because when I was young, you were told to brush your teeth hard. Little did I know. The tooth was much worse under the gum than he or I expected. In the end, he saved that tooth and I cant even imagine what I would have done. The implant procedure went so well. I wasnt scared. He explained what he was doing, interjecting his good humor which I always appreciated. I recovered just as he said, AND he called me personally in the evening just to check on me. Who does that? :) I am so impressed. And I cant say enough of his professionalism and passion for his patients. His office staff is amazing! Everyone who works there is genuine, knowledgable, and caring each and every time I was there. Dr. Pick is passionate at what he does and above all its such a great atmosphere of team work, and I felt pretty special as his patient. Thank you Dr Pick and your wonderful staff!! Dr. Pick and his staff are awesome. He really puts his patients needs front and center and his work is amazing. He has done four extractions and two implants for me and I am awaiting a third implant. I would not go anywhere else. I have had minimal pain following the procedure and little anxiety before and during the procedures. In fact, if I need more work done and no longer live in the area I would pay to fly back and have him do it because I really dont think I will find anyone better.

Ive learned that because Dr Pick is so talented and precise, both procedure and recovery are very smooth. I can not say enough good things about Dr Pick and his staff. Oral surgery and implants can be painful and put off for years...dont put it off! Get your procedures done with Dr. Pick. He and his staff really makes it easy!

I had being having some trouble with my tooth #14. My regular dentist tried a procedure but the problem keep coming back. I was referred to a periodontist and the only solution that Periodontist offered was to remove the tooth and have an implant. I decided I wanted a second opinion because I believe in trying to save a tooth and have it removed after conservative treatment has filed.I found out about Dr. Robert M. PIck through the internet. The reviews there really impressed me, so I decided to give it a try. I have no words to describe the quality of Dr. Picks practice! Not only from him but also from all of his staff/team. They practice their profession with the highest standard that you can imagine, Dr. Pick is extremely knowledgeable, believes that when appropriate, try to safe the tooth and only if that fails, then remove the tooth and have the implant. He did some surgery and so far things are going well. He will monitor the tooth and hope for the best. Today I also had my teeth cleanned at Dr. PIcks office, and I thought it was outstanding. Very professional.Honesty, caring, competence, and courtesy are found in Dr. PIcks practice. It reminded me of my experience 12 years ago at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota which place my husband says is the Taj Mahal of medicine. I can also say that Dr. PIcks practice is the Taj Mahaj of the periodontist practice.Dr. Pick, Sonja, Claudia, , Gosia, Stephanie, Annie and the rest of the team, keep doing such a good job. People like you make the dental experience so much more at ease and more relaxed!!!

When my dentist told me the gum that had been pulled away from my bottom front teeth would need grafting I was terrified. I have a very low pain tolerance and a huge fear of having any work done in my mouth. To make matters worse, I could vividly remember the terrible gum grafting experience my sister-in-law had done several years prior. She was out of commission for a couple of weeks. And I knew she was a lot tougher than I am. I lost a lot of sleep worrying about what I thought would be a painful experience. Summing up my true experience with Dr. Pick and his team I can say that once it was all said and done I felt very foolish for all of my worry and lost sleep. I had almost no pain. Yes, I was very sore for one day. But my pain never went above a 3/10 scale. They all made me feel so comfortable from the minute I came in for the consultation. Dr. Pick initiated the conversation about my anxiety and made it clear that his main goal was to prove my fears to be false. I dont think Ive ever met a doctor that even gave much thought to patient feelings and fears. I really dont even remember much about the procedure. All it took was a couple little pills and I was completely unaware of anything going on. I didnt feel sick and still had a lot of numbness when I came around after the procedure. Later that day I was sore but actually forgot to take a second pain pill. People I knew who had past experiences of their own with gum surgery could hardly believe I had anything done when they saw me a few days later. Truthfully, I could hardly believe I had just gone through the procedure myself. And now my bottom front teeth and gums look good as new! No evidence of anything having been done three months later! Dr. Pick, if you werent such a rare soul this world would be a much better place. Thank you so much for proving my fears wrong.

I am a dental hygienist working in the Aurora area for 27 years. The dentists I work for have referred their patients to Dr. Pick for years. I have seen his work over & over again and have always been so impressed with the outcome. When it came time for my daughter to need a periodontist, after ortho removal, for a gingival re-contour on her front tooth, I knew exactly where to take her! He is a perfectionist! Dr. Pick is very kind & compassionate. He works slowly, precisely & explains exactly what his treatment will entail. The outcome of her procedure was amazing, boosting her self esteem! She then needed a second procedure, 2 years later on another area where the ligaments around a tooth were too tight, causing it to rotate out of place. Another amazing job done by Dr. Pick, painless & perfect! I highly recommend Dr. Pick & his wonderful staff to help you if you ever need a periodontal specialist. I recently had a Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft by Dr. Pick. I have to say, he is hands-down the most knowledgeable and kind doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. He was kind and within minutes of talking to him, I could see that he was clearly an subject matter expert in his field. He sat with me and explained the procedure, and why I needed it, and spent as long with me as I needed to make me feel comfortable about the procedure. I couldnt imagine going to anyone else. I really felt like he cared about my recovery, and was available at all hours of the day in case I needed to call with a question. His expertise in this field was even clearer to me when I went through my recovery, as I experienced almost non-existent pain and swelling from the procedure. I accredit that to his excellent work in performing the surgery and his knowledge base on the subject. His staff was warm and incredibly welcoming, and his office was clean and very inviting as well. I would recommend Dr. Pick to my closest family and friends, as I have never had a better experience! Thank you Dr. Pick for saving my molars with the Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft. Recently, Dr. Pick and his colleagues extracted my cracked first molar. It took about an hour an it was painless and stress-free. Dr. Pick and his assistants made me feel very comfortable. Afterwards, Dr. Pick and his assistant explained exactly what happened during the procedure and the post-operation care that would be needed. He prescribed two medications nod Dr. Pick thoroughly discussed with me the reason for each medication. The evening of my procedure, Dr. Picks office called me to inquire about my recovery. He also stated that I could call anytime and he would be available. I would highly recommend Dr. Pick and his staff!! I COULD NOT IMAGINE HAVING ANY OTHER ORAL SURGEON THAN DR. PICK PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE. They really have set the bar VERY VERY HIGH!!!

I was referred to Dr Pick because I had recession of my front 2 lowers. I avoided going for 2 years because of the stories I heard about the procedure. I finally man-ed up and made the consultation.Dr. Pick spent every minute with me that I needed. We first met in his office so he could explain what procedure my dentist referred me for. He asks how much detail you want, which is good for the medically queasy. Then he did his exam, took pictures and again went through his recommendations for the procedure and what to expect after.The procedure itself was painless except for the numbing part, but thats expected. Dr Pick checks in on your comfort level and how far along he is throughout the process. Follow his instructions for post op pain medication and youll be fine. He checked in on me the next day (via videochat!) and made sure I knew I could call or text him at any time with questions. Texting him was great!Dr. Picks staff is incredible....so kind and welcoming. Dont hesitate to make your appointment with Dr. Pick!

Dr. Pick is fantastic and he cares on so many levels. He is professional, kind, easy to connect with, informative, experienced, exceeds expectations in his work and he makes it about one thing...his patient(s).I think everyone has been there at one point in your life that you moved to a new area and you’re not sure who to go to. You have a dental emergency that requires you to find someone quickly and you pick someone who doesn’t care about you as a person, doesn’t listen to you, what is best for you based off of work or personal life and they make you feel like you are a terrible person because you did not floss or have a cavity or in my case I broke off a front tooth. It starts off uncomfortable and then you just wonder if the dentists is just trying to scare you so much to pay enormous amount of money to fix everything, when in fact, you may not need something done.Dr. Pick is the opposite of all of the bad things I just mentioned. Unfortunately I had a bad situation (outlined in what I shared) with a dentist who was rude and a terrible chair side (bedside) manner. Lucky for me, I found Dr. Mike Bond (primary) and he referred me to Dr. Bob Pick. I trust Dr. Pick and Dr. Bond and that I could not say about prior Dentist, even the last few.Dr. Pick’s team is awesome too! There is a lot of tenure and experience on his team. When a team has been with you for up to +20 years and they are nice, knoweldgeble, welcoming and they genuinely love what they do...you can feel the difference. Going to the dentist isn’t a fun thing...I enjoy seeing Dr. Pick and his team when I went to the office.Customer (Patient) Experience is acceptional with Dr. Pick and his team. Dr. Pick told me he was available 24/7 for me and he was. I did have to reach out and he got back to me right away. He actually sent me a video of him and his team wishing me well and a good recovery. He called me the night of the surgery, then checked in later in the week. I went back in a week later for follow up and the healing was going well. I have a follow up with him in a month. He said if I need anything at any time...to reach out and I know I can. It gives me peace of mind in his work and his caring of others.If you are not sure about your dentist, you don’t trust your dentist, you want the work done right (implant for me - front tooth), you want to feel like you have a say in your treatment plan, you want feel comfortable in the dental process and you want to best...I would recommend Dr. Bob Pick.

To say Dr. Pick and his staff are incredible is an understatement . I work in the dental field for Dr. Neeraj Khanna and of course Dr. Pick was our choice, as we refer to him all the time. That did not stop me from being extremely nervous about having work done. The wonderful care that I received was immeasurable, their patience with me was incredible as I was very scared due to a bad experience with a past sinus surgery. His staff sat with me the entire time and were wonderful and explained everything to me to put my mind at ease. Once my procedures were underway, it was so comfortable. I felt nothing but pressure, I think the hardest part was staying open for a long period of time but that is because I wanted everything done in one appointment. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pick to everyone, I now know from a personal experience why he is our only choice when we are referring our patients!
