We love riding our Rad bikes in this park. The paved trails and well maintained and very safe to ride. We go on 16 mile rides several times a week weather permitting. Best think we ever did getting E bikes.

This was one of the nicer places we stayed on our 21 day trip. All of the campsites here are spacious and clean and you will have lots of room between your site and your neighbors. Our campsite was a cement pad with a gravel area for our table and fire ring. This place is pretty busy, with lots of bicyclists and boaters using the park. It was not super busy when we were here mid-week. Staff were super friendly and you could tell they took very good care of this place. This is a fairly convenient location, being about a 20 minute drive from Denver when traffic is good. Would definitely stay here again.

The campground itself is super nice. Its quiet, clean, and the bathrooms are good. You get a nice view of the city from the campground. However, there are a couple of problems with this place that kind of ruined the experience: first, you have to pay for the showers. $0.50 for 3 minutes. Thats not too bad, but nobody in my party was warned of this despite lots of research and contacting the place beforehand. One of the showers didnt even work, and it stole $0.50 from my sister. The park staff didnt offer to refund us when we brought up the issue. Also, there is no soap in the bathrooms! The bathrooms here are very modern and clean, but there is not even a spot for soap by the sinks. This is gross in general but even more so during the pandemic. So overall, its a nice campground, but there are too many problems with it to really enjoy it fully.

Driving 🚗 cross country, and doing tent site camping along the way. Very, very well taken care of. Coline at the office was very professional, and accommodating. Firewood is available for sale. Great laundry room, and machines. Bathrooms are cleaned twice a day. Showers have hot water, but find it interesting that you pay 25 cents per 7 minutes of water, up to $1.50. Never knew of a place that charged for shower. Totally recommend!

Zero stars. Yes it can be beautiful. But the workers were not helpful. For coming 1 time… it was ridiculous now we have to drive far to find a new campsite. I’m sure it may work out for some. But the Koa is the way to go.at least in the west they are so wonderful! I thought cherry creek was gonna be nice! But nope. But that is my opinion.

We thought this was a really unique camping experience. Being able to see the building in the Tech Center while enjoying the lake or hanging out in the camp site was pretty cool. Its not getting away from it all but its still getting away and we liked it. We only spent one night here on the way home from our trip but wed do it again and plan to stay a little longer. The campground was clean and well done.

BEWARE, Cherry Creek does NOT care about its patrons. Cherry Creek will not cancel my camping reservations for this Sunday because I was not able to give a 14 day notice. They were advised that my family and I have tested positive for COVID, but advised they have a strict 14 notice required, no exceptions. When I asked if I could still come if they would not cancel, they advised that would be fine.

So there is a fee to camp here. Then there is a fee to come into the state park, so you can camp, then there is a dog park fee, then there is a fee because of the lake, then there is a fee for the showers, and there is a fee to make reservations (and you cant get in without reservations). And with all those fees, they dont even have someone at the main entrance, you have to use automated machines, then you have to take those tickets to a state office or something so you can get your actual permits. The grass is all dead and spotty. On the bright side, the spaces are large. And the dog park is very nice.

Very large campground in the middle of the city. Many things to do, lots of space in between sites, lake, trails. Clean restrooms and laundry area. Would have been great if homeless people camped next to us wouldn’t have started a fight. Rangers came and took care of it, just did not feel very safe. There is also an $11 park fee on top of the campsite fee.

I grew up in this park! Literally walking distance from it. I loved exploring its trails when I was a kid- even now, I explore all the gems it has to offer. it never gets old! I remember when the horse stables used to be in the park- and then they moved them to Parker road near the dog park. Boating is amazing and so is the fishing. It’s a great escape - from the hustle and bustle. Enjoy it!

This is one of the best maintained state camping parks Ive ever seen. The facility is beautiful, sites are large, quiet location. Concrete pads, clean picnic tables, raked gravel adjacent. Good AT&T cell service. I entered the park at the East Entrance on a Friday at 10:30 AM. There were 10 cars in queue in front of me and 10 behind me. It took me 20 minutes in that queue to get through the gate. They warn you that if you leave the park and it subsequently fills to capacity they wont let you back in. I left at 11 the following Sunday and the Rangers were turning away cars. That means once you are in you risk not getting back in if the day-pass people fill it to capacity. Since it was a weekend I didnt feel safe leaving the park. Also, Even though you pay a camping fee you also pay a day-pass fee of $11 each day you are there. Alternatively $83 for an annual day-use pass.

Very bad management. If you camp here be prepared for long long waiting time to get back into the park. Crazy lines They should have separate line for people that camp there. No grooming everything is over grown. Its great location if you want to be in Denver. I dont care for this park.Plus Colorado is the only state that will charge you 11 dollars a day in addition for your camping fees. I dont know of any other state that does that. At least all the ones i have been and i do this full time.. So stupid another greedy state. I will never stay here again for sure.

Went camping here, and have never been so confused as to how a park like this operates effectively. We accidentally purchased two parking passes for the weekend, when we only needed one as it turned out (didn’t realize our friends only had the spot for one day). We quickly went back to the front office where we paid for these “passes” with a credit card earlier, and explained what happened, expecting a quick refund for $11. Older lady at the front training a young lady immediately starts shaking her head when we started explaining and said we’d have to fill out a REFUND APPLICATION and send it to their main office for a refund, as they “don’t do those here”.Did I have to fill out an application to GIVE you my measly $11? Nope. Why on earth can I not get my $11 back where you took it in the first place? Not a great experience because of this and many other things.. we’ll stick with dispersed camping in the mountains, free of refund “applications” to park on some dirt and weeds (which they told us not to do, by the way).

We utilized the full hookup sites which are very convenient. We also took kayaks on lake which wasnt that great because of all the boaters. They do regulate the boats and boaters but they still damage the lake creating lots of seagrass and debris on the beach areas/shore. The newer trails are nice with a few older trails being quite rough when biking. Overall, close proximity to things, well maintained, great pull through sites, and great layout/campground design.

I wouldnt recommend this campground, as they say, location location location. You can see skyscrapers and a major highway from the campground and the helicopters at night arent great. The best part are the super nice bathrooms and the beach! I would come to this park just for the beach, although the comical number of boats/jet skis on this tiny body of water is not relaxing.

This is a great campground and the location is extremely convenient. My husband and I stayed here when we were attending an event at the Dicks Sporting Goods Park and it was only about a 25 minute ride. We wanted to stay somewhere outside of the city and I am so glad we found this campground. It was so quiet here and there was a bunch of wildlife walking and flying through our camp. They also have coin operated washers and dryers as well as coin operated showers so be sure to pack some quarters if you plan on using either of these luxuries.

Very nice state park campground. It would have been 5 stars if they put hand soap in the restrooms. Sinks, cold water, hand dryers but no soap?? 😳. Also why does Colorado charge for a separate day use permit when camping? If you are camping it should be part of the campsite fee, like other states 🤔

Manipulative fee schedule. $28 to camp sounds reasonable. Oh wait... +$9/day just to have a vehicle (how would I even get to the campsite without a vehicle?)... oh wait... +$10 just to book the site... and then I have to put quarters in the shower to make it work? How about this: get your fee schedule in order and stop hiding the costs in the fine print. You ought to be embarrassed. If youd just quoted me the real price Im sure the facilities would speak for themselves and youd get a higher rating but instead you get 1 star for being shady. Update: As if that wasnt enough, the bathrooms are closed from 8pm to 7am. When I showed up at 8am they were closed again for cleaning. Hahahaha. Over $50 with tax to spend one night and I didnt even have the privilege of paying to take a shower. Pitiful.

I would originally rate 5 stars, but the recent price hikes in 2019 are too high to be reasonable. Some sites have doubled in price. As such I can no longer recommend this as a reasonable place to camp. There just isnt added value for the rate hikes either. One example of this: 2018 a basic site was $14, now in 2019 that same site is $28. Again with no added value, youre still going to have to pay for any showers, still going to get harassed by park rangers if they think you dont LOOK like you belong in the campgrounds. Dont get me started on the WiFi, which is next to useless, IF you can manage to get a connection to stay.Which is all really sad, this used to to be my favorite place to visit growing up. Now its just another over priced Denver attraction trying to cash in on the boom while ignoring the effect on citizens.
