Doing my own hair, including my extensions for years; I am extremely picky. So, when I decided to take my extensions out, go back to my natural hair color, and go from long to short hair; I wanted to ensure I had someone with enough experience to help the transition. Not only did Angie do a fantastic job but since my first appointment; she has squeezed me in several times since. When I want touch ups or need a trim, she works with my hectic schedule. Went in for a color which was good and stylist friendly. It was winter outside and snowing so when she asked if I wanted my hair blown dry I said yes. Also, how else would I know if I like the color. I didnt know that I was going to pay an extra $25.00 to have my hair blown dry. I assumed drying my hair would be part of the color service. Ridiculous... I believe you should tell the clients up front of any extra charges, not wait until you check out.

Shop had no heat in the winter it was really cold not busy at all

Had a wonderful experience with Selena (hopefully thats her name); went in looking for Kate based on earlier reviews, but found out shes moved another store; Selena was just adorable and super friendly so my daughter decided to give her a try. Well I can happily report she is so happy that she did. Just by showing Selena a photo of what she wanted, and she was able to get so close to the cut and style.My daughter was super happy, and said she was also so nice to chat with while she was in her chair. Highly recommend Selena. *****

When i walked in she told me to have a seat. not in a good mood as i could tell. with my hair being wavy where you have to wet it down for you to cut it. she barely sprayed my hair and only some parts of my hair was wet. once she started to cut my hair she was very distracted talking to my mom. at first my hair looked fine but once i got home and my hair dried. i notice some parts of my hair is longer then the rest and its shorter than i wanted. now if i get my hair redone it might end up shorter and i dont it super short. she was blonde-ish and maybe in her 40s i dont remember her name. she does have a country accent. dont recommend her.

After living in Colorado for 2 years I finally found a stylist that cut my hair the correct way. Angie is awesome and very well seasoned in her experience and capabilities. She is very friendly, offers suggestions and did a great job with my thick, short hair. I booked a future appointment.

A very nice and convenient place to get a haircut. Reasonably priced. Angie the manager is wonderful, accomodating and easy to communicate to what style you want done. I had a couple of bad experiences before coming here and Im glad I did. Definitely recommend it especially families.

What a waste of time. I made an “appointment” online and then was told the appointments don’t matter. I spoke with the lady on site who argued with me. When I finally was able to talk to the manager of the joint on the phone, I was basically told I was a liar. Oh but why let it end there? The manager called me again to tell me again that he spoke with the lady at the shop, I’m still a liar and I’m rude. He also said if time frames are that important I need to go to a nicer shop. Thanks Scott, I appreciate you wasting my time and energy when you could have just left things alone and moved on. Great customer service skills.

Angie has been doing my hair for about 2 years. I love my hair everytime I leave. I am not someone who goes in for routine boring color. I love bright colors and bringing out personality. We took our ASD child there who HATES haircuts. Children’s specialty salons were tried, individual salons have been tried, and everything in between. Who would have thought that we would have found our angel at Walmart? Angie was AMAZING with him and we’ll for sure be back time and again!

I walked in 5 days before my wedding to get highlights, with no appointment, cause it hadnt crossed my mind. Kendra was working that day. She probably thought I was insane, but immediately agreed to do my hair.The highlights turned out beyond fabulous, but I got scared and came back 48 hours later to get the blonde toned down a little... Kendra did it without argument, and even tried to not charge me (I actually made her charge me so I could give her an appropriate tip for the extra work).I have gone to salons that charge me $120.00 or more for highlights, and they have NEVER turned out as good as this, the less than $70.00, that I paid Kendra. She is absolutely amazing at what she does.Everyone at my wedding (including a hair stylist from a salon at Wash Park) begged me to tell them where I got my hair done. I got so many compliments on my hair, I dont even know how to express how elated I am! I will ALWAYS go back to Kendra. ❤

The worst haircut ever! If I could have given this place zero stars I would have. Both the manager and the other stylist could care less whether youre happy with the service or not. I cannot believe how terrible my haircut came out. I even went back to try and get it fix and even though there wasnt any clients waiting still refused to fix it...Told me I needed an appointment to fix it.

If I could give this review Zero I would. My daughters had an appt with Kate who might I add is great. We go in and Kate was cutting someone’s hair but greeted us and said she would be right with us. We sat down and this other lady came up to us and said hello and also confirmed that they were there for a cut and highlights. She then asked me was I getting anything done and I responded with yes actually I would like to get my hair trimmed. She said they would try to fit me in. I told this lady in a very polite way that I wanted my hair cut by an experienced hairstylist and she in a very condescending way said that they only have experienced stylist that they all went to cosmetology school. I told her I realize that but I have had bad experiences in the past and I would prefer someone that has been doing it a long time example Kate would be fine. She then told me that they didn’t work that way and I couldn’t pick who did my hair. I smiled and said okay no worries I can go somewhere else another time and get it done. She walked away and my daughters said they didn’t like that she was so rude for no reasons at all and they didn’t want to get it done there. So we walked over to Kate and told her we would not be getting theirs done either. Kate said no no I will be the one doing it. I explained to Kate what this other women had said and Kate was shocked and told me no that she could do my hair. So all would have been fine up to this point until the women who refused to give me her name continued to run her mouth and be rude. Kate asked for my information and apologized over and over as she herself was shocked by this “managers” behavior for NO reason!!! I gave my info and asked the manager for her name and she responded with “it’s irrelevant and you don’t need it”. I can honestly say I have never had anyone be so ugly for zero reason. I asked for the owner to call me but I haven’t heard back. Employees like this hurt your company and if this is truly under new ownership then you might want to think about letting her go. This was supposed to be a fun thing for us do to as my daughter is home from college but it turned bad. And will be unforgettable.

I am a former employee and cosmetologist who worked at this specific Smartstyle and for the franchise owners, Dena and Scott Gorman, I was treated horribly as a employee of theirs and would never work for any salon of theirs again! I have recently read some of the stores online reviews from customers and things obviously have not changed, they are understaffed and clearly cannot keep employees!

My beautician Esther was amazing!!!! She is very professional and skilled at what she does. Doesnt care if its a $10 haircut or a $100 do she treats everything she does with care. I think Ive found my beautician! Thanks Esther.

Please people do not go to this place if you are looking for a colorist. They have no clue how to do highlights, ombre or balayage. I asked for a balayage, and they fully bleached my hair, I mean all my hair was literally bleached. Good hair colorists will never keep the bleach on your hair for more than 30 minutes, and they kept it on my hair for 1 hour 30 minutes. I kept telling them to wash it off because I was afraid to remain with no hair at all, but they said they know what to do. The color turned very ugly, very yellow and my long 35 inch hair was completely burned. When I saw how destroyed my hair was, they said you can always cut it like a bob. They definitely need a lot of training in hair color. Please pay a little more but go to a good professional. One star just because some girls working there are sweet.

Kendra and Angela are the best people to get a haircut from, and in fact, I got a haircut today from Kendra, and it was the best and affordable, too. Ill be going back there next month and every month, I would recommend it to anyone!

Horrible haircuts from Kate . I showed her how I wanted my daughters haircut and this woman rushed right through it. Didn’t cut her hair as according and now I will be calling today to comp her 50% tip. Horrible horrible haircuts. You’d have to be blind to think they are acceptable. Not impressed.

Rude they have a sign that says 50% off the lady working saw me walk in and did not get up or say anything then as I was look at products she very snippy pops around the corner when I ask if they are on sale she said can you not read a sign yes I can and it says sale.

Worst haircut and worst stylist attitude. I had set 2 appointments and reached there 5 minutes late, they denied to cut both hair appointments just because i am 5 minutes late for my 1st appointment. They treated me so bad which i never expected as i had the appointments. Will never go there but will never recommend anybody.
