I went in to get my hair dyed here knowing that it may not be perfect given its a school. The instructor did a lot of the work and the student did exactly what she was instructed and I HATED the result. Ive never wasted money like this. I wanted it to go from brown to red and it looked exactly the same, zero change , after the appointment. I was so upset, it literally looked like nothing all was changed. As a student at Empire I would NOT recommend you attend this school. I know In school you will not learn everything you need to know but you should at least learn the basics. Empire does not teach you that. The turn over rate for teachers is ridiculously high. I’ve been here almost 2 years and have been through 6 teachers. Since Erin the director left hours are all messed up, no one is here to answer questions that knows what they’re doing. Your hours are not entered accurately at the end of each night. The new salon floor teacher is working 12+ hour days picking up slack from everywhere else to ensure us as students are taken care of. (She’s amazing at what she is doing and for coming in to such an unorganized corporate company to be able to stay positive and encouraging for her students) For this school to also be a “salon” it is poorly taken care of. The walls are dirty the floors are dirty. They don’t have the products necessary to ensure our clients are taken care of as they should be.Being here honestly made me lose my passion for being a cosmetologist. There are no perks no good teaching no excitement. They had students in here scrubbing floors rather than teaching us about what we are here to learnI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE COME HERE FOR EDUCATION. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH.

This school is the most unprofessional school I’ve ever heard of. The students are disrespectful and the lead instructor is a mess! Don’t get me started on Nancy at the front desk. RUDE!!! Does not do her job. Keely is a hot mess. And they let students do whatever they want to do and run over the instructors that actually try to educate them. 0/10 would not recommend anyone to this unorganized mess!!!!

I am going to be attending the Aurora location. Erin the director is amazing as well as Nicole. I am so excited to start!

They completely ruined my hair I left with a discount should have been a full refund left with the roots ruined asked to go in the next day to fix it. My roots are yellow my hair is orange this is wrong and not okay after being there over 4 hours.

They cut and curled my hair over a year ago and i still remember my great experience

When I 1st enrolled into this school they said it was a diversity school. To where I would be doing all kinds of hair and styles. But here they only focus on white ppl hair. & they lack on showing you how to do black hair. The rules are a lil too much and they talk to you like your kids. Like I understand we need to be here if we are full time or even part time but just learn how to speak to adults and how to say it without being rude or disrespectful. Everyone there isn’t 18 or 19 most are 25 and up. Negative energy is why everyone drops from this school. No respect at all.

The Instructor Erin was very knowledgeable and professional. 😀❣😀And my Hair looks and feels wonderful! 🎶🎼🎶 The only problem was that it took 5 hours.

Just walked out without getting my pedicure manicure finished, this student herself was a little rude acted like she didnt even want to do it said she couldnt cut my cuticles because she didnt have any clippers she went in the back and got them and did not even sanitize her equipment and then wanted me to sit sideways in a chair with my feet and water thinking Im going to get electrocuted she said quit pulling the cord out. Horrible teachers there I will continue to go to Thornton area from now on never again to Aurora.in fact Ill probably call in the health department to inspect them nasty experience so unhappy

This place is a joke!! I have never seen a college operated like this one. This location gives empire a bad name. Please don’t waste your time here people do the research. Most of the reviews on this location is negative so they can’t say it just one mad student I anti no student and never have been a student but have had family to attend this location and withdrew after day 2. I have also have family to attend another location in Greensboro NC and had a great experience. So it not all empire it just this location they don’t care about you education the only see a dollar. Now I know why they only have about 10 student this location. Please be caution when dealing with the Aurora Location on Mississippi.

The first time I came here was a great experience. Young Asain does good job on thermals. The last couple times was bad experience I had four different women braiding my hair and I still had to come back for someone to redue braids. I did not get the wash or thermal I asked for and it just seem like they where not passionate enough for me. I paid 40 bucks for half ass. Need more passionate people. Trying the other location for sure.

I went to school here not for very long from August to now September 21st I have never seen such an unprofessional school and the way they run things everything that was promised wasn’t my instructor wasn’t very good at speaking english and I never got the help I needed even when I asked for it. The front desk lady Nancy is rude absolutely rude to students however, there are a few decent instructors but most of the instructors that are upstairs never help the instructor from the pre salon they said there will be “change” but I personally didn’t like it and didn’t appreciate the way they treated me when I came to transfer to a different beauty academy I do not recommend any future students to come here unless you want a poor edcuction where all you do is sit down and skim through books and never do anything for hour on hours during school. Wasn’t for me but whoever comes here I hope you figure it out yourself like me

First time ever to go here and my last. get a trim not a haircut, brow. and lip wax, just a few minutes ago. Was told they do not do waxes during the day, and I wanted a trim I would have to come back at 12:45, I was there at 11:45. I can see why they get such negative posts

I made an appointment for a perm touch up, and as soon as I got there they said Oh well sorry we ran out of perm until Monday. Would you just like us to style it for $30.00? Goodbye Ill style my own hair for free. Worst service ever!!!! Go handle your business somewhere else!

Worst school and place to be honestly. Went there and decided to just transfer to the Lakewood campus for my last 2 months of school because I jus couldnt deal with the bs there anymore! The receptionist is bipolar and has favorites and the advanced teacher is ALWAYS in a bad mood, no matter what time of the day it is, she is mad 110% of the time. Also the director doesnt know what she doing, the rules are so stupid and only hurt the students future, theyre just worried about the money not the success for the students! Overall a HORRIBLE place to be in. Dont waste your time at this school, or I should say this location! I go to the Lakewood campus now and it is 500 times better! Great staff and amazing students! So happy I transferred.
