I had called a week ahead of time to book a room for a Saturday night. This was the hotel our friends had a room block at for their wedding. I gave the woman on the phone the room block name and date. When my husband and I went to check in, she couldn’t find me. After giving her the confirmation number, she found me, but I was booked for the wrong weekend. She went to get a manager, and the manager confirmed that the staff member I had spoke with scheduled us for the wrong weekend. Upon seeing who the staff was that booked us, she remarked “that’s not surprising…” They did not have any rooms for the same rate that we booked, so she offered to give us an upgraded room..for $314, which was only a discount of $30 from its original price. The room we had originally booked was only $114, so no, we could not afford an over $300 room. Since this was their mistake, they absolutely should have offered us a room at the same rate, even if it was an upgrade. Luckily my mom lived in the area, otherwise I don’t know what we would have done. Would not recommend to anyone.

We stayed here in October 2021 for one night. After a long day of travel in New England, we encountered a not so friendly night clerk. After checking in we went around to the back building and had to enter through the spa area, then take an elevator down to the basement level where I room was located. The building is old and musty smelling. Inside the room the smell of mildew was very strong. We turned the air conditioner on and after a while it made the smell more tolerable. Furnishings were old and worn out with cigarette burns and stains. The bed was OK as for comfort but there were black hairs on the comforter. At this point it was too late and we were too tired to complain. The toilet was crooked the way it was mounted which meant you had to sit facing slightly into a wall. There was hair in the sink and in the shower. The shower also had mildew growing in the grout at the floor. The place was very big and obviously catered to conventions. They did have a beautiful pool area but since we were looking for a clean, comfortable night’s sleep that didn’t interest us. They advertised a hot breakfast but we were disappointed when all they had was grab bags with granola bars and muffins. The coffee maker in the room was yucky with stains of something in the water compartment. We couldn’t wait to check out and to get back on the road again!

If there was no star I would have picked that. Horrible. Just horrible from the second we entered until we left. Upon arrival, the front desk worker was complaining she didn’t have lunch and didn’t have a lunch break or cigarette break. We bought her lunch, we paid for early check in but did we get it? Nope. 3pm check in when we had to leave for a wedding at 3:15pm. Didn’t pay for the early check in but, wow. Outdated is an understatement. I understand places are short staffed right now but this was just horrible. The next morning the power went out and fire alarms went off for at least a half hour and were still going off when we packed up and shipped out. This place has gone downhill fast. Their “grab and go breakfast”….. JOKE, gogurt, granola bars and tasteless apples. Might be a good time to reassess the decision to stay in business…

We got placed in the wrong room. But was switched with no issues. My complaints are the noise. You can hear everything in the parking lot and every sound in the hall, as well as people stomping around upstairs. We were in room 201. There was a funky non detectable smell. The carpet was all stained and there was mold in the bathroom. But the biggest complaint is the noise. Nothing seems sound proofed at all. When traveling with a child, noise can be an issue. The room was of decent size, had a small weird tv in the loo. The fridge is in there also. The shower head leaks when using the tub.Not sure what to expect for breakfast as I’m currently still here trying to sleep, listening to doors slamming. Definitely will not be returning here for $140 a night. The noise killed it for me!

Food needed to be vacuumed off floor. Never happened after telling front desk. Room had a strange smell. Fireplace wouldnt shut off. Reported, but never came by to fix. Had ac set at 65 and room was still a little warm. Phone didnt work, had to use cell phone to contact front desk. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was kind of a joke. A paper bag with a granola bar, yogurt, piece of fruit (apple/orange)…nothing to drink. Enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. They did give a military discount.

Musty, outdated, run-down, and false advertising. I had had the Senator inn and spa on my radar to visit for a few years. I was very excited that I got an opportunity to travel this week and decided to book a two queen bed room for $139.00.First impression of the room- yikes. It’s a motel with outside access. Not as safe feeling or resort quality as I’d expected. Upon entering the room, it smelled like someone had chain smoked in there for 40 years, sprayed Lysol, and cranked the AC on high. I went to the front desk to let them know the room smelled and that it was in fact NOT me and my 4 year old who were smoking things in there just in case the hotel decided to fine us (as posted in the room). After 8 minutes of enduring the musty stench of the room, my daughter and I headed to the pool. The indoor pool was fine. The facility appears to be confused. It’s called “the senator”, the wings are termed “presidential, congressional, etc- but all the decor is of 90s Grecian/Roman tackiness. Painted columns and Parthenon included. The outdoor pool was fine, as we managed to find ourselves there to swim too.And after 2 hours following check in, my daughter and I left. The moisture and humidity clearly breed undesirable things which we didn’t want to wait around to witness. So, I didn’t even spend the night, we used the pool for 90 minutes and left.I couldn’t bring myself to complain to the front desk staff because let’s face it- they have no control of how the rooms/facilities are funded and cared for. Plus, I’m sure they deal with enough public complaints as is.Anyway, the photos on the website advertise an affordable experience of a resort with a spa. Having amenities like a fitness center, restaurant, spa, and pools on the premises. I am utterly disappointed. And to add salt to the wound, when I got home- a cockroach crawled out of my duffel bag.

Room smelled like mold, bought air freshener instead of talking to front desk after seeing the kinds of responses left to past guests on here. Turned on the sink and the tub started bubbling. Turned on the shower and had standing water. Couldnt even take a dump in the bathroom comfortably because youre a centimeter away from the wall. An inch gap under the door into the hallway. I was not a guest--I have used the GYM facility regularly when I come stay with my family. It is a beautiful place, but there is little concern in some essential ways. TVs are absolutely not maintained--for example, only TWO out of the whole lot appears to get HGTV because one of the channels just doesnt work on the others. None of the weight equipment is updated--meaning it is circa 1970s--but this is not a weight-lifters gym. It allows you to maintain when away, but for strength training on a regular basis, Id go to Planet Fitness. The front desk staff has been overwhelmingly unwelcoming. There are regular users of the gym who mess it up, but are never spoken to--even when advised about. As an example, one regular in the mornings ALWAYS brings 20 LB dumbbells into another room and just leaves them on the floor for someone to trip over (and, at minimum, put away). He also takes a cup of water and, instead of throwing it away, leaves it around for someone else to get rid of. Really boorish behavior that staff knows about but chooses to ignore. At my gyms in NYC, the member would be spoken to.A lot of this could be addressed through written rules posted on the wall if the gym was interested in doing so. It likely would not prevent people like this one weekday morning member from hazarding up the gym (which should be very explicitly dealt with), but it would certainly help.Overall, very pleasant atmosphere, barely adequate equipment, and unimpressive management.

I stayed here with my partner a few weekends ago. We got the King suite! We where very excited to branch out and try something interesting. I would recommend not using the jetted tub in the bathroom. It shoots out water everywhere! Its also very loud. No matter how hard I pressed the button to shut it off nothing seemed to work! The bed was also kinda iffy. Stiff on the back. Outdated, worn out furniture too...The pool and the hot tub was nice! The room was nice and clean, the shower was nice, water stayed hot. Other than the tub issue I still liked staying here. Although Im being purely honest here.... youd probably have a equal amount of fun time in a normal room. The king suite wasnt that impressive. Could have saved money and gotten a queen suite...

Great hotel with fabulous service. We have stayed at this hotel so many times that I can’t even count them. It is the nicest hotel in Augusta in my option. The Fairfield one exit north is fine, but lacks the traditional feel, and excellent service of the Senator Inn and Spa. Their indoor pool is also great. We usually book a room or two in the “Presidential Wing” which are essentially deluxe rooms. The Spa Suites are also very nice with an additional room. It is funny that they are called “Spa Suites” when they are actually the farthest rooms from the spa. The rewards program the started several years ago has also saved us lots of money at the Cloud 9 Restaurant. They would give 10% of the total cost of the rooms as a gift certificate for the restaurant or other amenities.

After two different sets of swipe cards we were given a different room. Again only swipe key worked. We left it at that!. The Hair dryer was not working in bathroom. Bummer!! damp hair! Alas, at the end of our day,we found our matrices dated and extremely uncomfortable. The pool was a delight and we were thrilled to find the Bar/Lounge now opened. Our Bartender was lovely!! Im a traveling nurse. I can from Texas which is a long 30 hr drive. Lol... I ran into bad weather in Pennsylvania and was a day late arriving for my reservation. Since I had contacted the 3rd party I made reservations with I didnt think that I would also need to contact the hotel. When I arrived the front desk told me my reservation wasnt cancelled and I wasnt considered a no show but still they couldnt honor my reservation. After a couple of hours working through the 3rd party finally the manager John did allow me to check in. I was grateful. I asked if I could get a room with an outside door due to the fact that I would be caring for patients who tested positive for the virus and wanted to limit entrance into the hotel. The 2 people who checked in before me who didnt have reservations were given outside door rooms. I was given a room up 3 small staircases as deep into the hotel as possible. 🤷🏽‍♀️After 5 nights I tried to extend my stay and told the front desk that this is what I was planning. I had worked 12 hr over night shift and fell asleep as soon as I got to the room. Woke up to knocks on the door that I needed to check out. So I called down to remind them that I was extending my stay but they said my card wasnt going through. Dang fraud protection was thinking it may not have been me using the card so they were waiting on my approval. But instead of continuing to honor the rate I had already been staying at they were charging me more than double that. So I got my bank straightened out and went through the same 3rd party and reserved the room for the old rate for another two weeks. Got a confirmation number. Then called the front again. But before they could answer me I am getting knocks at the door that Ive got 15 minutes to get out. Apparently someone else rented the room while I was working to get everything straight. With the money taken from my account and now no room to stay I guess Ill be sleeping in my car for 3 to 5 business days until the money is back in my account. The room was fine. Didnt have house keeping at all for the week so I cant say anything good or bad about that.Being a nurse over the past year has been difficult to say the least.I dont blame the hotel Im sure they were following their policy. But, this was my experience here. Interpret it however you want.

As far as the room, the beds werent very comfortable. It was noisy, woke up to my neighbor screaming at someone at 7 am. We had to make reservations for the hot tub, but there wasnt anyone in there making sure it wasnt being used without a reservation, so we had to wait for a bunch of teenagers to get out and when we were able to get in, I felt it was dirty. And we were only in it for 5 mins before a worker approached us asking if we had as reservation. We had to check in with the desk before we went in... there was nothing in the our room for information in the area. Had to go out to the lobby and take a picture of the menu for the restaurant. With many phone calls between myself and Gina (the front end supervisor) it was determined that the General Manager would not accept my cancellation request. I was 1 day late on the free cancellation guidelines but unfortunately wasnt aware of the tournament cancellation until that time (I had offered emails to prove, etc). I explained the entire situation, left two voicemails with the GM which were never returned. He just kept denying the request via email. If you are not 1000% positive you wont need to cancel I dont recommend booking. There is no compassion or regard to life. Policy is policy with this place. This is our FAVORITE place to haveba little getaway for a night or even the weekend. VERY reasonable prices, EXCELLENT customer service, ALWAYS clean, warm and inviting. The jacuzzi and the pool and exercise room are all amazing... I have yet to check out the Spa services, but they are on my list of things to experience. The restaurant always smells amazing and they offer room service.

I wasnt really impressed with the stay here for the 149.00 a nite for a standard room I didnt see anything that wasnt basic I understand covid has made some issues but I wouldnt recommend staying here for that price for a bagged breakfast a tv that the closed captions could not be taken off of or the Pixelation of the tv cable service... not again... not from me...

The first couple times I stayed here I stayed in their dog friendly rooms. Very outdated, but was convienant when visiting friends Augusta. Then we were charged for smoking in the room. Which we had to dispute because there was no smoking in the room. Then we were charged for a stay 2 times on our credit card, that we werent even there for. Management claimed it was a mistake, refunded our money. Months later we stay again, but in a room that was not pet friendly, or so we were told. We found a dog bone in the room, and change in the floor, telling me that it was not cleaned properly. We have a toddler that puts eveything in his mouth, and also asked upon booking our room that they do a quick inspection because of that reason. We asked for a pack and play, and recieved a dirty broken pack and play that had screws and support bars that had fallen off while trying to assemble it. We asked for management and were told they made a note and we would get a phone call back, but did not recieve one. Their desk staff doesnt greet with a smile and has no hospitality, they are annoyed when they have to work. Overall our stay deserves no stars

Worst customer service.ever!! My wife went in for a facial and i planned a last minute couples massage for the next afternoon, the day before we were flying out. We called the next morning (morning of the massage) to cancel because timing had changed for our departure. The manager was extremely rude not letting us talk saying we should know there policys that we would not be getting any kind of refund. No one had told us the night before that we would not be unable to cancel be because we were within our 24 hour cancelation period. No customer service skills at all!!! Worst experience!! We will never go back.

Staff was exceptional. Pool was fun. The rooms have seen better days but bathrooms are new & clean. We had a little patio area to enjoy outside our room. Where we were was surprisingly quiet, which was great. It all needs a face lift and some tidying up.The Spa is clean, bright and staff is lovely. I think they are prop carrying the place. Shop is great. We could not enjoy the Restaurant due to shortened hours due to Covid. Food looked appealing. Next time for sure! Great health precautions, and every staff member was great about everything.#pool #dogfriendly #nicestaff #staycation

We got a call 5 minutes after we reserved our room, so they could tell us the tub was broken and we needed to change rooms. Than they refused to match the price on booking.com. Our room had sugar ants in the bathroom, which I didn’t make a big deal about until I found one crawling up the coach next to my head. One of the chairs in our room had some sort of orange crusty food on the side of it (which I reported so I didn’t get the blame). Than when I when you take a shower I noticed the soap containers from the previous person who stayed in that room was left on the side of the tub. That was gross! Than when we where leaving I was checking the room to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind we found an old plastic food container under a dresser. I won’t stay there again. After I made these reports to the front desk I got a simple “sorry” and that was all. This is not what I expected from the Senator inn!

I have never had a massage before, but in the state of things I haven’t been more stressed or have more tension. I had to get it worked out, I was lucky enough to get David! He was so kind and put my mind at ease, he talked me through what I needed help with and focused on all my tight spots. I will be returning! Thank David for a perfect first time! I’m not scared anymore. Also no mask no service!!! Thank goodness! The place was so clean and social distancing was perfect! Thank you!!-Kate

Been here before for couples message. Recommend that to anyone who can afford it. Their prices are expensive. Went for mani pedi. Didnt get the leg message or hand message I was expecting especially for the price. The lady was REALLY nice. Id rather have left on the gel polish on my toes to be able to enjoy the leg message which was told to her many times to do. (Didnt know gel polish was so difficult to come off) Also only got to use hot tub for half hour. Since you have to sign up since virus. The steam room and sauna were closed yet the price were the same. That was VERY disappointing.

My 2 daughters and I stayed in the spa suites these past few days for a little girls trip getaway. These rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The jacuzzi tubs are so relaxing and the tv in the bathroom to watch while you relax is a perfect idea. The staff has been very nice and accomodating, the pool and spa is clean and so pretty. We will definitely come again.

I love the Senator! This is my home away from home on cold nights as Ive been building a cabin on my land. The rooms are always clean and cozy, beds r comfy, and staff friendly. The grounds r safe, and Ive never witnessed anything shady (important for a single woman). They have never let me down and are always accommodating to nice folks. It IS sad that there is no more buffet breakfast because it was AMAZIIING🙌 but Im hopeful they will bring it back soon. The location couldnt be better also....everything you might need is in walking distance, if necessary*

The staff are friendly in the hotel part. The spa on the other hand was horrible ! A worker name Ella I think her name was. She was ignorant, rude and very unkind. She was rude to my entire party! I had to write her boss a email. Stay clear from there for sure. The hotel could use some updates but the rooms were very clean, smell good, beds are comfy and Darcy at the front desk is amazing.

Natt was awesome showing me around the place. Very friendly, and I could see the smile in her eyes as we had to wear masks. My masseuse, named Whitley was full of energy. Also very friendly. I booked another appt. For next month. I have many knots in my shoulders and back. Use of the pool and hot tub comes with the massage.

Customer service less than inviting in the Spa. I specifically called hotels in the area looking for a hot tub. The front desk said Yes, we have a hot tub. We checked in early afternoon and went to dinner. When we returned we went looking for the hot tub. Only two very late time slots open. Understand the policy. Wish it was posted and or we were told about it. Staff acting like we were a bother was irritating. Please brush up on your Customer Service Skills or dont work in the Hospitality Industry .

Dont waste your money. Charging 30.00 for early checkin. Couldnt change credit card on file to pay for the stay. Couldnt accommodate request for my sister to be in next room. Dinner prices ridiculous. My husbands pizza was forgotten and he got it when everyone else was eating. My sister was locked out of room after we used spa because her key was not formatted the right way. Warm breakfast as advertized is just a breakfast sandwich made in China.. Parking lot sheer ice and I had to call to get them to sand it. Dog Couldnt go for walk. At end of stay tried to get coffee in lobby. The desk person informed us they had to go to the spa to replenish it. I told the receptionist this place has gone downhill and she said she was sorry. Dont apologize FIX IT

My 4 year old niece locked herself in the bathroom, instead of helping the staff laughed & told me to tell her to unlock it herself. When I started getting louder they made the comment that they were worried I’d upset the patrons at the bar and I needed to calm down. After telling them I was going to kick the door in to get her on my second trip to the front desk they said they would call the police on me if I did so. Only after 3 trips and 2 calls did they send maintenance for the the simple screwdriver it took to open the door. A stressful 20 minutes that could have been avoided had they kept the correct tools on hand. Complete lack of safety protocol and a huge failure by the management team. By far the worst experience I’ve personally had at a hotel. Would not recommend.

The beds were THE MOST COMFORTABLE I have ever slept on. Never seen tvs in bathrooms before, that was fun. Disappointed about the sauna being closed for covid but used the hit tub. It wasnt the hottest but it was relaxing. I got a hot stone massage and it was wonderful, but my first time going I gave the masseuse my payment and she apparently thought I was leaving $150 tip when I thought $40 tip was good. But it helped my pain.
