My first experience with Dr. Heffelfinger and his team was due to a broken tooth in 2017. The entire team worked to put me at ease and Dr. Heffelfinger is sooooo detail oriented and meticulous. Fast forward to today. My husband and I have moved to Florida where we two horrible experiences with different dentists there. We were so pleased with the treatment received at Smiles for Life that we made the decision to schedule visits while we are visiting Indiana this summer. This still means a 3-4 hour drive (each way) for every appointment but thats how much we trust the recommendations and work done by Dr. Heffelfinger and his entire team. Thanks to a cancellation, I had two crowns started yesterday AND because Dr. Heffelfinger pays such close attention to your concerns, also had my bite corrected which is so much more comfortable. He was even able to fix a crown (too long and sharp) that another dentist placed and I didnt even know he did that!!!! He has a personable demeanor, common sense approach to treatment and will answer ALL of your questions, explain EVERYTHING and give you options so you can choose. He never makes you feel pressured to do one thing or another. He listens to your concerns and never makes you feel stupid. He takes his time to make sure that the work is done carefully and correctly to provide the best outcome possible. If we are willing to drive 3-4 hours (each way), or even fly back from Florida, you should give Smiles for Life a try. The entire team shows the same care and attention to detail as Dr. Heffelfinger from start to finish.

I had a very large filling that needed replaced on my front tooth as well as some veneer updates on front teeth. Dr. Heffelfinger and his team did an amazing job of not only matching the color and sizing, but they went out of their way to perfect everything. Their dedication to do things right and ensure that I was comfortable was appreciated. The technology and skill of this team is amazing.

A very welcoming business establishment. I was very appreciative of the CDC procedures throughout my visit. The parallel communication position in communication was noted. Dr. Heffelfinger had a nice chairside manner listening to my concerns. He was very thorough in explaining the data from my cursory exam. No sugar coating- as a patient , I appreciated that. Cindy, the X-ray tech was great- very professional and made me feel comfortable.

My 7 year old and I both recently established care with Dr Heffelfinger. His staff was so patient and kind to my child, he cannot wait to go to again. The staff was friendly from the very beginning to the end. They are always smiling. Dr Heffelfinger was very thorough and took his time answering any questions I may have.

My son chipped his tooth playing football went in to get it checked out. They had it fixed and looking like his normal tooth in about 45 mins or so.. staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. I am very happy with the service we received would recommend to any looking for a good dentist and team!!

I saw Dr. Heffelfinger for the first time today and had a really great experience. I didnt have to wait very long to get in, and they took detailed scans and x-rays that were quick and painless. Dr. Nate explained what he evaluates slowly and clearly so that it was easy to understand, and he was attentive to my goals and desires. He seemed very thorough by looking at the big picture as well as the details. He was not pushy and didnt make me feel pressured in any way. I look forward to working with him in the future.

So far Ive been to this dentist office twice and both times the waiting time after checking in was less than 5 minutes. This office is extremely clean, its never loud or overcrowded with people, the staff is friendly and very informative. They have advanced equipment and technology and really comfortable chairs. I had a cavity filled today and the process went so smoothly. Dr. Nate Heffelfinger and his staff did excellent work. All around a positive experience. I highly recommend!

Dr. Nate and staff provide exceptional personalized care for their patients. Thorough cleaning and treatments as well. I plan to do teeth whitening with them for my upcoming nuptials. Plus the new building is beautiful and contemporary. Would recommend to all my family and friends. Worth a drive from Fort Wayne and further.

Had a cleaning and got a chip fixed on a front tooth. The exam and cleaning were very thorough and everything was explained to me as it was being done. The color match to fix my chip was amazing! Dr. Nate and his staff are always thorough and friendly and explain things in easy to understand terms. They are very helpful in answering questions on anything whether it be the services you are receiving or insurance related questions.

I came in a couple months ago as a new patient. Dr Nates process indicated 2 hairline cracks in my 2 molars. My previous dentist never even looked at my teeth like this. He presented options, which today, included a crown placement. So satisfied, well beyond my expectations (and they were high). Dr. Heffelfinger was beyond professional in his approach, did a great job of communicating every step, and was an absolute perfectionist in getting the shape correct. I was in and out in less than 90 minutes - incredible ! The staff was fantastic at organizing everything so that we werent waiting on the next step. I have no residual pain or uncomfortable feeling, this process was just incredible ! Job well done....

Staff was very down to earth and very helpful! They took care of my husband and I and our kids. The youngest was 3 and she had a blast and want to go back to see everyone!

I had to have a tooth extracted due to a break and decay, not something anyone wants to have happen. I was more than anxious about this as my only other experience was four impacted wisdom teeth and that was done under IV sedation. Knowing that I was more anxious than your average patient, Dr. Nate and his entire staff went out of their way to reassure me and explain the procedure. Im sure Allen wanted to crank up the laughing gas so I would stop asking questions!! Dr. Nate explained what would happen at each step of the way and I was amazed at how smoothly it went. Not to say it wasnt uncomfortable but there was no actual pain - and Dr. Nate was able to remove the tooth simply rather than surgically. I did tell him the experience was awesome before leaving, maybe a first for him, but for a scaredy cat like me, it was awesome to have no pain and have such a great outcome. Its now been two days since the extraction and again, while weird and uncomfortable its not been painful even after being in a traffic accident. Dr. Nate called the day after to check on me and when I spoke with Nona yesterday, she answered my questions (again) and reassured me that what I was experiencing was normal. Ive only seen them all twice but its like having friends take care of you!

Their entire team is so kind. They will explain every details and make sure that everyone is on the same page.

Id say beware! I find it very odd that in all of my 30+ years, including when this was owned by Dr. Brown, I never had dental issues. That was until this new Dr. purchased it and then every time I went in, he found something wrong. After a couple fillings and convincing me to have my wisdom teeth removed in my mid-30s, I changed dentists and again back to having zero issues. I think Nate is overzealous and trying to find ways to pad his pockets!

I have been going here for 8 years and best dentist ever! I actually don’t mind going to the dentist since I started going here. Dr Nate is awesome and the rest of the staff is just as great.

My wife had major dental reconstruction performed by Dr. Heffelfinger. For over 30 years she had dental deformity as a result of in depth cancer surgery. Many dentists said that it was not possible to repair the damage and she would have to live with it. Nate would have none of that, he did a risk assessment and developed an in-depth plan. After 18 months of diligent work she now has a beautiful smile and a very healthy mouth. I highly recommend Dr. Heffelfinger for any and all dental work. This man is an artist and a perfectionist.

HEART RATE LOWER AFTER APPOINTMENT?? Unbelievable, but true. I wore my Fitbit to the procedure. 88 bpm upon arrival - after my tooth was filled, the Fitbit read 72 bpm. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Nate and his staff. Professional, polite, gentle - all combined with a great atmosphere. Thanks Dr. Nate and Staff for all you do!
