Friendly staff. Lots of adorable cats that need a forever home. I adopted a sweet little kitten.
First, I need to say that I signed up for volunteer training. I was interested in Canine Enrichment. I drove from Los Osos, a 35- minute drive. After I arrived, I found out they only have cats! Since I was already there, and I have a kitty, I decided to stay. But I sure wish their website had made this clear. It would have saved me time and gas. The adoption center was very clean. I liked all of the cat furniture, toys and places for the kitties to hang out. Plus I learned that bopping your cat on the nose when she misbehaves is not recommended (ignoring is). I didnt see any other building (s).
Woods Humane Society has been helpful in caring for the Feral Cats that live at my house. In return for their help Im proud to be a Contributing Member of the Woods Program.
Very nice and helpful, seem to have knowledge about how to get the cats out to good homes unlike the Santa Barbara Humane Society, they are lazy as can be
Great experience getting our fur baby neutered and chipped
The staff is filled with really caring individuals who put their hearts into this organization and it shows.
I greatly appreciate staff, behind-the-scenes workers and volunteers at Woods Humane Society. I took my Two Kitties Alice and Waldo to be spayed they were treated like the staff owned them they were very kind and loving. I speak for all of the north county four legged critters when I say we greatly appreciate the low cost vaccinations and spay and neuter program provided by Woods to help reduce our homeless pet population. Thank you!!💜😺
Incredible shelter and training facility. Dedicated experience staff. Ten stars!
Adopt don’t shop! I adopted my dog from woods and have taken my cats to be spayed.
This is a wonderful rescue for animals!!! The critters are well taken care of and given lots of love and the employees are very helpful...its a great place to adopt your next furrbaby!!!!! 🐕🐾🐈
Cat lovers paradise! Also a dangerous place for cat lovers because all the cats are adoptable. Woods humane always needs volunteers and this is a very fun place to do that! The process of getting a cat was very quick and you could be in and out in an hour. But they still explain things to you in detail about your new cat.
My daughter LOVES cats and instead of a birthday party, wanted to see if she could bring her friends to the shelter to socialize the cats. I called and spoke with Tom, who said that it wouldnt be a problem. I was expecting to bring the girls, let them play with the cats and take them outside for cupcakes on the grass. When we got there, Tom had set up the kitchen as a birthday party, decorated it with balloons, taught the girls how to behave around the animals AND how to make their own cat toys, which they got to take in and use to play with the cats, AND we had a cute giant cat friend come in to visit! My daughter said that this was her favorite birthday ever and one family even went home with a new feline friend. The folks here went above and beyond to make this a great day for my birthday girl, but Tom deserves a special shout out for all of his hard work! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Wonderful caring employees !Always helpful !
Thank you for so readily taking on the four kittens that I found.
Awesome group of people helping the pets of SLO County. Short wait to get in for an appointment, and a nice experience during the visit.
Very nice set up for cats and very good selection of cats to adopt
Best place to enjoy friendly cats and pleasant people much love.
Kudos to the volunteers providing a needed service and the donors that help keep the doors open
Wow, so rudely spoken to just now when all I wanted was a vaccine history. The receptionist was a sassy girl who interrupted me numerous times, how sad for a brand new facility to have such horrible staff taking phone calls! WOW, ILL STICK TO SLO!
Woods humane society is not humane at all. They put their animals to sleep for behavioral issues on site regularly and they can’t keep an employee for too long. They should go out of business
All cats are taken care of. Purrfectly😀
Friendly people, happy cats, and we got a healthy beautiful baby kitten that we love! We continue to visit now and then to play with the cats and the staff s always happy to see us.
Clean place. And the cats seem happy. My only complaint is some of the staff will not leave you alone and make you feel really uncomfortable for being there. 90% of the staff is very professional and friendly but there is a guy that hangs around and literally hovers over you making unnecessary commentary. Do they want people to come here or not? Ive literally left because he wouldnt leave.
Great place if you looking for cats only or kittens- I am definitely enjoying my bubbly bundle of joy
Was able to get is neuter certificate I love going to this place for that. It is a great help.
They do not euthanize any cats. Its always nice and clean. Great place to adopt a kitty or kitten.
I love what Woods does for animals. One of my dogs was from there. It just breaks my heart to see dogs stuck in there. I guess you cant save them all but if I had more money I would try.
Worked their for community service for my school...really awesome opportunity and good place to adopt cats or animals
Brought my girls. Girls so excited to see so many cats. Staff great!
My cat (Shay) already had kittens for the 1st time 8wks before and we didnt want it to happen again. We were able to find homes for all but 1 kitten. We were told they couldnt get her in for another 2months. UNLESS we surrender her kitten. Then they will do it the next day. So thats what we did. It cost $35 with her shots. When we picked her up we just couldnt leave her kitten behind. So we ended up paying $80 to adopt him back. With his shots. Chipped. And neurted. Its an all feline place. all the cats and kittens seem happy and healthy. I recommend you atleast go there first to adopt a cat.. They need good homes. We have 3. 2 females(Shay & Sammie) and the 1 kitten(Tony the Tiger). We got all of them fixed there along with their shots. Nice and friendly management and volunteers.
This amazing place has a hard-working and compassionate staff, tireless volunteers, and happy, healthy adoptable cats and kittens. New Board of Directors dedicated to best business practices, accountability to adopters and donors, and positive community relations.
