A wonderful experience with Dr. Groh. He replaced my shoulder and it is amazing how much better I feel. After the initial MRI Dr. Groh called me himself; not an assistant or nurse but Dr. Groh personally. He also called me personally after surgery to see how I was doing. I was amazed that he did that himself rather than delegating it to someone. Rehab was a breeze; they bring you in once every couple of weeks and if you DO YOUR EXERCISES progress will be swift. I am very pleased with the care Dr. Groh provided.

Gordon will call you a liar and refuse to do a SHOULDER surgery due to weight issues. Even though his colleagues will do a knee surgery on the same patient. Would not recommend him even for veterinary surgeries.

Dr. Groh did a great job putting my shoulder back together. Equally excellent, he--and his PA Erich--looked after me in post-op visits, when they gave me very helpful physical therapy exercises. If I keep remembering to do them, my shoulder/arm will be good as new or close. I liked him, also, because he called me boss.

Unbelievable Doctor! I had a reverse shoulder replacement day before yesterday, I’m home and feel great! Very little pain, been walking around the block! Had my other shoulder done by another doctorin Asheville several years ago and was in horrible pain for a week!Never seen such organization and kindness! He’s a rock star!’

Dr. Groh is excellent. I broke my humerus bone in my right arm. He did surgery and put a titanium rod. He explained every detail. He was kind, compassionate and caring during my entire possess. He gave me post OP exercises so very helpful. Thank you Dr. Groh for taking care of me.

Ive been blessed to have Dr. Groh available to perform 2 shoulder surgeries, both of them difficult. He is always honest about outcome expectations, supportive and explains exactly what he expects in patient compliance. He is the first to admit healing is a cooperative effort. Do exactly what he asks, no excuses, and you and he will be very happy!

I had shoulder replacement surgery on Dec 5th 2019.I consulted Dr. Groh a few months before. He reviewed my xrays with me and recommended the surgery. It was not a difficult decision as there wasnt any separation in the joint on the xray and my range of motion was very limited. The surgery and post op went textbook. Dr Groh and his PA were super. Easy to talk to and willing to help in any way they could. I couldnt be more satisfied and grateful for their care.

Dr. Groh is an excellent surgeon!!! I have had been a patient of his for years. He has done surgery on my wrist and hand years ago. This week, I have had 2 surgeries on my arm and will have another surgery tomorrow. He has always taken excellent care of me. He explains everything. I am very fortunate that he is my doctor! I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr GROH fixed my wrist. The office and surgery center were amazingly efficient and organized. Dr GROH is well documented as being the cream of the crop in his specialty and this was apparent in all of my interactions with him. All expectations were exceeded.

His bedside manner is awful. He doesn’t explain things very well and is always rushed and doesn’t take the time to explain things to you. He did my surgery a year ago and my thumb is still not healed. He also forgot that I had 2 pins in my thumb and failed to tell me that. I was told I only had 1. I am on my third opinion. I think something is wrong because I am still in pain and I can’t use my thumb properly.

Due to a dog attack I dislocated my shoulder. My husband had great results with Asheville Orthopedics so I asked my doctor to refer me to that practice. Dr. Groh ended up with my referral and Im grateful for the superb care he gave me. From our first consult through the months of PT guidance he gave me he was compassionate and professional.

Dr. Groh did a fantastic surgery on my fractured wrist which required a plate and 12 screws. I have no distortion to my wrist or hand and a VERY minimal scar. HIs PA, Eric is a fine asset. They make a great team.

Dr. Groh has been great. I injured my hand badly last year, and my OT had mentioned that it wouldnt hurt to ask if anything more could be done to help improve things. After setting up an appointment and meeting with Dr. Groh he suggested another procedure (DIP Fusion). Throughout the entire process, he has been kind, patient, and informative. Hes kept me in the loop with what was going on before, during, and after surgery; He showed me my x rays, giving me a better understanding of it all which I appreciated. I never felt I couldnt ask any questions. Im definitely the sort that gets nervous and quick to forget what I want to ask (even the smallest questions) more so when I feel rushed but I never felt that with Dr. G.Im still on the road to recovery but Im glad I mustered up the courage to reach out :)

Dr. Groh is a excellent surgeon! I have had both shoulders replaced.. He took very good care of me ! I Would recommend him to anyone that needs a good surgeon!

Dr. Groh has been my Go to Doc. For shoulder and wrist surgeries he is cool and easy going...he doesnt BS YOU when it comes to surgery. He tells you what you need and does it !! My shoulder was fixed finally, as well as my wrist. Although at the airport Metal detectors scream when I pass through..small price to pay.

My experience with Dr Groh were all good he and his staff always took care of me promptly and took the time to answer my questions. I have recommended him to many people who have also liked him.

I broke my clavicle and tore a ligament. Dr. Groh did a great job repairing my injury. I really like him and think he has a great bedside manner. My husband also had a shoulder replacement by Dr. Groh and his experience was superb. We wouldnt go to anyone else!

My husband Max Holland had two shoulder replacements Dr. Groh was his orthopedic surgeon.I cant tell you how much I appreciate Dr. Groh taking the time to explain in detail about the surgery, that means a lot to a patient .He made Max feel he was special. After the surgery Max didnt have pain and didnt take pain medication which made my life so much easier.We think he is the best and would recommend Dr Groh to everyone .We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. From first to final visit, Dr. Groh and his staff did an excellent job helping me through a broke arm that required surgery. I hope to never have to visit him again, but if something else gets out of whack, hell be my first call.

Dr. Groh is great. My dad had multiple surgeries with him. I broke my collarbone on a Thursday night and saw him the next day. He decided that I needed surgery and he ended up scheduling me 2 hours later that day, due to him knowing I would not want to wait the entire weekend. He is fast, kind and professional. I remember his nurse at Asheville Orthopedic jokingly saying that they call him the plastic surgeon of scars, man was she right, my scar is nothing compared to some other I have seen. I highly recommend Dr. Groh.

My husband hates to go to a doctor of any kind but he was in so much chronic pain that he finally relented (after much nagging by me 😁) and he absolutely loved Dr. Groh and his staff. Dr.Groh listened to him, understood his need for quick relief due to him owning his own company and not being able to have extended downtime with surgery, extensive therapies, etc. Dr. Groh gave him exercises he could do at home as well as cortisone shots which provided almost immediate relief and enabled him to actually do the therapy. Great experience, highly recommend.

First dr. i have felt treated me as a person. After being treated poorly by 2 others . it was nice to be talked to with respect, all questions answered , and bed side manner top notch. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Remarkably efficient and friendly office which has made my experience a pleasure. Dr. Groh’s relatabilty is exceeded only by his surgical skill and understanding of the patient. His medical assistant and Eric his “physician assistant” and surgical assistance were awesome.

I was diagnosed with a rotator cuff problem and by following the PT and other recommendations was soon back to my normal pain-free routine. Dr. Groh knows what he is doing and while I hope I dont need to see him again, it is good to know hes there just in case!

I will never use this doctor again or recommend him to anyone! He has the bedside manner of a rattlesnake. He is the most arrogant, egotistical, narsasistic, self absorbed doctor I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He put me through 6 months of torture due to a terrible shoulder situation. He ordered an MRI on my shoulder and told me I needed a total shoulder replacement. He kept putting me off so long I sought treatment from a superior shoulder surgeon in Hendersonville Nc. She looked at the same MRI and immediately saw that I had a very rare and persistent bacteria in there from a rotator cuff surgery before Dr Groh. It took two surgeries to take care of it but she did such a great job I didnt have to have a total replacement after all. I did have to go through 8 weeks of antibiotic infusions 24/7 to make sure the bacteria was gone. Theres no telling what would have been the results if I had stayed in the care of Dr Groh!

I have been going to Dr.Gordon Groh for several years now. He is punctual, kind, and very professional. In my opinion the man is brilliant. I will stay with him as long as he is in practice. I have referd many of my friends and family to Dr. Groh and they all have been extremely happy with his care.The nurses and office staff are wonderful as well. All are kind and knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Groh that has an issue with their hands, arms or shoulders. Im thankful that I found such a wonderful doctor to care for me.

Went to Dr Groh over a issue with my left wrist. He diagnosed me without taking any x-rays or anything. I told him I wanted to get a 2nd opinion---which I did---and the diagnosis was completely different from what Dr Groh told me. Was also informed that if Dr Groh would have done the surgery on what he THOUGHT was wrong, it wouldnt have helped my problem at all. Also...his bedside manner is awful...he is not a friendly or welcoming doctor. Im sorry...but i would not recommend him to anyone!
