This place is absolutely the worst doctors office Ive ever been to. They just push pills and they have 0 knowledge about what theyre talking about. Most of the people are quite rude or treat you as you are disposable. There are about 2 or 3 nurses that are fantastic and one doctor whose name is Joe decasta and he is awesome and kind. Everyone else just transfers you to a nurse who asks a doctor 2 days later and the doctor just says go to the er. They dont care. If you can go somewhere else then please do because Ive been going for 2 years and have yet to be helped at all. You will have better luck going on YouTube.

It pains me to write this review, because I had an overall positive experience with Dr. Harlan, which is the only reason why I didnt give DHP one star. However, DHP owes me a refund, and they claim that a check was sent to me almost a month ago. Unfortunately, I never received the check, and I have been continually getting the runaround from their office staff. I submitted an email to the office manager over a week ago, and have yet to receive any response. I also called the office a few days later, and requested to speak with the office manager, and I was told that would not be possible. So I requested a call back from her, and once again, I did not receive any response.It sure seems like they are trying to avoid paying me the money that I am due. On top of all that, there is absolutely no record of any of this refund accounting on their patient portal, or in my insurance patient portal. I do want some action to be taken promptly by DHP to get this situation resolved, and if I have to go to the medical board, then thats what I will do, if it becomes necessary, because this kind of behavior, where my money is being withheld from me, needs to be reported. It has now been 3 months that I have been owed this refund payment. If the shoe was on the other foot, they would be demanding an immediate payment from me after that length of time.This practice has a virtual monopoly in Asheville, and their lack of competition shows, because there appears to be no accountability with the office staff, from the top down, starting with the office manager, and then trickling down to billing. Unless this gets resolved in the very near future, I will travel to Charlotte to see a gastroenterologist, rather than return to Digestive Health Partners, where my money is currently being held hostage. At this point, I am seriously questioning if a check was ever actually mailed to me at all, as I have been told by the office staff. Something is very wrong within the organization there, when nobody will respond to emails or return my phone calls.That is totally unacceptable!

I am a new resident and have been trying to get through to this office to make an appoint for literally 2 months. My primary Dr even referred me. They did call me one time and of course I missed that call. I have called and sat on hold for scheduling for probably over 5 hours in total between all the calls sitting on hold for 20 minutes at a time. Right now Im on hold and have been for 17 minutes. They have a system to leave a request for a call back before 7pm which I have done 4 times and never recd a call back yet. I am in dire need of services. Maybe Ill die of whatevers wrong with me before I ever get an appt. It would be faster for me to drive back to Florida and go to my Gastroenterologist there. At least his office actually answers the phone. Extremely disappointed so far and not even looking forward to an appt at this point, considering their service may be just as lacking as their ability to take a phone call from their patients

I have been coming here since I was 13 years old. I have been coming since I was teen! I love this place. Everyone is nice and friendly.

The service has always been great but the billing department is not helpful at all. I, as well as my insurance company, have been trying to get them to resend a bill with the corrected information since Jan 2021. Called 1/25/21, 3/8/21 and now 4/5/21. They originally sent it with the wrong Group Number and still have not corrected. Very unprofessional!!!

Had a colonoscopy in July 2020. Received a bill in August which I promptly paid online with my care credit card. I received past due notices nearly everyday till the end of the year. This was after I called and spoke to Tiffany who informed me I paid the “WRONG” way, I should have made the payment over the phone. If that is the case WHY did they accept the payment. I was told the situation would be looked into and that I would receive a call back. I was never called and now my account has been sent to collections. This business stole my money and now is trying to RUIN my good credit.

I have been a patient at Asheville Gastroenterology Associates for many years. They provide excellent care. I highly recommend Dr. Rodney Perez and his PA, Joe Decosta.

Soviet medicine. I was examined via Zoom for 4 minutes by a doctor who determined that I needed to have a simple procedure performed in hospital. A second opinion by another doctor at a different clinic, who actually saw me, said that was ridiculous. For this non-service, Medicare was billed $352 for which I pay $160. They are more concerned with getting a home on a golf course than in medicine. Look elsewhere.

The facility and the staff were all very professional and efficient. Friendly and helpful. There were no problems at all. Dr Harlan gets 5 stars. I do recommend that you fill out all paperwork completely before going in, and if you have to prep that you follow the directions to the letter for a good result.

Ive never had a colonoscopy before and Im glad I had the procedure here. The staff was excellent, very professional and very pleasant. I felt very safe the entire time I was there, the office was very clean and every one was wearing a mask. I highly recommend this facility.

Check-in was handled pleasantly and efficiently. Susan and Brittany, the admitting nurses, were great, listened to and accomplished my request to be treated through the outpatient procedure without general anesthesia, and made sure everything I wanted to get done got taken care of without any delay or red tape. Dr. May and nurse Yvette were great as always in answering all my questions, responding to my requests, and providing excellent medical care with very little or no discomfort. Thanks to everyone there!

I have been a patient of Dr. Cender since 2001. I am thankful for Dr. Cender and Digestive Health Partners providing quality care for our community. The entire staff from the front desk, check out, PAs, nurses, lab techs, everyone who provides patient care are professional and care about every patient. All the staff that I came into contact with were extremely nice and very professional. I would recommend Asheville Gastroenterology to everyone. I have little veins and the nurses that had to start an IV on me were great. I am so happy I had my two procedures with them.

I was very pleased with my visit with Dr Brian P Garvin. He had looked over my records sent to their office and was ready to listen to my concerns. I felt confident in him helping me find out a solution to an ongoing issue with my health. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I began with Digestive Health Partner is June. Initially I was impressed with their professionalism and promptness to see me. I saw them for a colonoscopy. Ended up have “minor ulcerative colitis”. Fast forward to October. I called in due to issues of severe diarrhea (excuse the detail). I was losing weight rapidly, and having extreme abdominal pain. They prescribed me some medication. When I asked if I could take it while breastfeeding the response was “ask the pharmacist and call us in 48 hours if you’re still having issues”. The pharmacist said no, and I called the following day because I was still losing weight, still in awful pain, and still having terrible BMs. They said to come in that afternoon. I was relieved, until I got there. When I got there I never was seen by a doc. They sent me for labs and I left. I was told I would get the results that day, they didn’t come in for 4 days. I received the news because I called them. They never called me. At this point I still had not been seen or spoken to the actual doctor. I lost 8 pounds in 10 days. I then went to the ER because I was in so much pain and they kept saying “all your labs are coming back normal.” It was not normal. Turns out... it was ulcerative colitis, but they never thought to mention that these were symptoms that are also part of UC and treated me for it.My frustration with this company is that I am a mom of three young children. I needed help and I felt like they were neglecting my symptoms, my pain, and were not communicating with me at all. I was always the one calling. I was especially disheartened by the fact that a doc never called me or never saw me during this 11 day period.

Highly recommend. Staff is very friendly and all procedures to be performed are thoroughly explained. Expert care was received.

My wife had a colonoscopy at Asheville Gastroenterology this past week with Dr Wood as physician. The facility was excellent, and the staff was efficient, caring, and took excellent care of her. As hard as this is for her, they made the experience as seamless as possible from check-in to recovery. We highly recommend this facility and staff.

I found all of the staff to be very friendly and attentive. They all took time to answer my questions including the doctor. Dr. May has been my and my wifes doctor for many years and has always been wonderful. The procedure was completed when scheduled in the amount of time I was told it would take.

As always, but especially with CV19 lurking, they are as good as I can imagine. They are safe, organized and very nice. Dr. Dukowitz is very competent, thoughtful and friendly.

From start to finish they were the best, I feel so safe in their hands.

I had an excellent experience at Asheville Gastro- from when I had my upper endoscopy to the follow up - everything was outstanding. I was super nervous about my test but the nurses and Dr. Meyer made me feel so safe and comfortable. Followed up with Darrell Meadows, PA and was very impressed with how thorough, caring and knowledgeable he was.

I had colonoscopy and an upper GI at the same time, but the staff was so nice and compassionate that I felt at ease before the procedure started! Everything went smoothly and efficiently! Thank you for taking good care of me while I was there!

Dr. Dukowicz is a sincerely warm, concerned physician that is never in a hurry and will answer all questions. I feel very fortunate to have him as my doctor.

I would give them 10 stars if I could! Everyone was extremely nice and caring. Dr. Zivony is a great doctor, would send anyone to him. Why you go there isn’t a fun thing to do but necessary and I felt well taken care of.

My husband has had several procedures at the Hendersonville office and the most recent was by far the best experience. We met with the anesthesiologist and doctor both before and after the procedure and discussed concerns and expectations. Everyone was pleasant and friendly and more than willing to answer any questions. This was not the same “assembly line” feel we had at previous procedures.

I have rarely been treated so well at a physician’s office. Though I haven’t had the procedure, they have prepared me completely and I can only expect more of the same wonderful treatment.

THEY PUT $$ BEFORE PATIENT HEALTH. I have been a patient of this office for years. I ended up in the ER last night due to gastro related complications and was advised to schedule an appointment ASAP with my gastro doctor. I just called them and before they would even talk about scheduling an appointment they wanted me to talk to their financial counselors about a past due bill. I refused and told the person I need to be seen regardless of my financial situation, I have health insurance. They denied scheduling me an appointment until I talk to their finance department first.

Everyone was friendly and thorough in their explanation of what to expect. It felt like a whirlwind experience, but the staff, nurse and Dr. Fisher made the experience as comfortable as possible.

I saw Dr Matthew Wood at Asheville Gastroenterology Associates. He is one if those special doctors who listened, carefully read the operative reports and records from my previous related problems and then offered me a choice of a less or more aggressive look into my current complaint. Considering my past problems the tests he is scheduling are right on and I am comfortable with his advice. I wish all my doctors were as considerate and caring as he is.

My visit with Asheville Gastroenteroloy went very well. The doctor listened to all my questions. and answered all so that I could comprehend what he was saying. He was not in a rush to get to his next patient. The staff as were all helpful and considerate. Thanks for such a great visit !

Dr. Charles Schrode found my cancer 2 years ago. I cannot say enough good things about him and the fact that he saved my life!! I will continue to go back to him as long as he stays in the area!!!! I highly recommend him!

Great experience with everyone there. I thought I needed a colonoscopy, but they said wasnt necessary at the time. They could have just went with it , but the didnt want to cost me more than necessary.

I highly recommend Asheville Gastro. From check -in to check-out was very quick and smooth. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Dr. Whitlock was very interested in what I had to say and very knowledgeable .

Dr Shrode was very caring and thorough. He requested a bowel specimen, the nurse told me to drop it off at the front desk. The receptionist said she didn’t touch it and printed a sheet off for me to take to the lab. It was in a plastic bag you furnish. I was a little embarrassed.

I had my procedure at the Hendersonville location, Carolina Mountain Gastroenterology. The staff were great, all were professional and friendly. Dr. Rholl was great, he took the time to answer any questions. It was a very pleasant experience for an unpleasant procedure. I was in and out of there in less than 2 hours. Good job guys!

I had a colonoscopy. I was worried about the result since my last one was a little scary. Everything went very smoothly. Dr Jeffries was very kind and reassuring. The only problem was, they discharged me before I had expelled very much of the gas they pumped into my colon. On the ride home I was doubled over with abdominal cramps. When I got home I was able to expel it finally. I guess they were heavily booked and just needed to get the next patient in. I think the doctor probably used more air than usual, needing to look around very carefully also. I just had never had that happen before in any of my 3 or 4 other colonoscopies.

I was way overdue for my colonoscopy. I cant say enough good things about the staff and my doctor, Dr. Fisher. Yes, its a busy place. But thats because theyre very good. I felt like I received very personal care. All of my concerns were addressed and the procedure was seamless. People were kind, compassionate and professional.

Pre-visit instructions were very thorough and easy to follow. Check-in was very fast and efficient. All the staff that I came in contact with - Tracy, Grace, Jessica, and Dr. Dukowicz were very helpful and kind.

After visiting the Marion office; I come to realization, I must be dealing with the B team. This whole process has been nothing but a hassle! They cant seem to handle communicating with the pharmacist of my choice. This doesnt instill confidence in them or their medical abilities. If you can find a Gastroenterologist elsewhere I would highly recommend you do so.

No one likes going thru the 3 day Prep and Procedure..and Im no exception. Until yesterday, the only 1 I ever had was approx. 35 yrs. ago. It was horrible as that long ago the local hospital didnt use light anesthesia to put a patient to sleep for the procedure. It was horrible and I was in awful pain so....I never had another. Yesterday was a pleasant surprise! Everyone involved was friendly, pleasant and considerate. The Drs. were very knowledgeable and answered every question I had. Good experience and Im happy to recommend them to family and friends.

This place is a money scam. They will over charge you and nickle and dime you for all you have. The service is ok but not professional and give you post op info while still recovering.

I have had the absolute worst experience. With chronic vomiting and gastro pain since February, it has been over six months and I was only seen by one doctor the rest were nurses which most were far too under-qualified. When I bring up issues and concerns I am told by Asheville Gastroenterology team that the priority of my health is up to the Doctors discretion

Dr. Cinder saved my life. As soon as I told him the pain I was having, and even though a CT showed nothing (the radiologist at Asheville Open MRI missed it) within 2 day he did an endoscopy and found that I had pancreatic cancer. I would be dead by now if he didn’t listen to my symptoms and then took immediate action). I am forever grateful

I would give a zero if I could. Their office scheduling and administration is bad beyond description. Totally incompetent. I havent been there in several years now. I got a call a couple of weeks ago saying they were calling me on the advice of one of the doctors there to schedule a colonoscopy. When I inquired which doctor, she stated it was Dr. Beavers. Point in fact that I made to her was that Dr. Beavers had not been a part of that practice for a least 4 years. Then then tried to say, oh yeah, shes retired, to which I stated that she didnt know what she was talking about as I correspond with her still at her present location inCharleston, SC. At that point she laughed and said well you still need to come in to which I asked her when she showed my last visit there was and what it reflected (it was a referral for a liver transplant which I received ....in spite of their efforts). She told me it was for a procedure years before that. Either their record keeping is a mess (which I have experienced in my long relationship with them) or what appears to be the case here...they just want to perform procedures...churn that mill. Im just fortunate I was able to leave them when I did.
