Dr. McDonald was so patient and kind. I felt like she really listened to me/my concerns and helped me find what was best for me. Really admired her friendly, caring approach. Not to mention I am seeing amazing with my new contact prescription. Highly recommend.

It’s been a while since I’ve had such a pleasant “doctors visit” experience. From start to finish, my check in, eye appointment and glasses purchase was met with wonderful customer service and an experience that made you feel like a human being. Thank you, everyone, and keep up the wonderful work.

I recently got Vision Insurance through VSP and started calling to find a doctor. The first practice I called never answered their phone and the second one had a wait-list for a new patient appointment that was two months out! Third time must really be the charm because when I called Family Vision, they answered on the first ring, got me in the next day, and treated me like family from the first contact until the end of my appointment. I spent very little time in the waiting room, the doctor was very knowledgeable and thorough, and the ladies in the front were very patient with me as I tried on almost every pair of glasses trying to decide on my next pair of frames! And after all of that, I ended up choosing one of the first pairs that they suggested for me. My glasses should be here within the next 10 days or so and Im excited to try them on! Thank you, Family Vision, for excellent customer service!

They are very nice and polite. My daughter has been going here for a few years now and she loves seeing the eye doctor and picking out her glasses. I would recommend this place. They are so awesome.

I have been a patient of Dr. McDonald for over 30 years. My most recent appointment was with Dr. McDaniel. Both doctors are very thorough with their examinations and up to date with their equipment. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and have always been a great help to me when choosing the right frames. If you are looking for a new eye doctor don’t hesitate to call and make an appointment.

Awesome service over the years. My eye exam was fast and accurate. Courteous staff. Self pay and Insurance patients are both welcome. Prices at and below most. Higher quality products than their competitors. My glasses always last longer than they are expected. I was called back exactly at my appointment time with no extra wait in the waiting room. 5 stars for sure.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Everyone was still safely wearing masks, which made things even better. They had a great selection of offbeat frames and werent the least bit bothered that I took nearly 2hrs and 2 dozen pairs (or more!) to finally decide what I wanted.My husband and son will be going for their next eye exams.

Had appointment for a couple of months, we show up and they had us down for a different day but said they would take us anyway which was nice. The mailman came in without a mask. Had my kids at the eye exam machine and a gentleman walks up right beside us without a mask speaking to another employee, and it turns out that was the doctor. I dont care to have my children inside with people not wearing their masks. I took my kids out immediately and informed the ladies at the front (one of which was also not wearing a mask) that we would not be returning.

Im terribly disappointed. Its been almost 3 months and I am still waiting to receive my glasses. From the initial exam being performed with the equipment not set accurately. I havent worn glasses in about 10yrs and my prescription isnt very strong. I shared my concern over jumping into Progressives. I was told if I dont like them I can get them without the Progressives. The first pair of glasses that were ordered were the incorrect prescription. Dr. McDonald asked me to try again with the progressives with the correct script. I did and couldnt see correctly with them so I asked for them with just the distance lense in it. I called after waiting another 3 weeks and was told they would look into it and call me back. I didnt hear back. I waited another week and called again to be told they would look into it and call me back. I didnt hear back. I called again and was told they just came in today. Again, they are not correct! They are still progressive. I asked if I would be reimbursed the $235 for the Progressive lense given I wont have Progressive lenses. She said no, the good news is Im not being charged for the replacement lenses!?!? I hope to receive glasses that I can wear soon and Im paying $385 after insurance for these glasses. This experience has been so poor its almost comical.

Having been to at least 6 different eye doctors over my life, Dr McDonald (also Eagle Scout) has been the only one that I felt always got my prescription perfect. He listened and will recheck if I wasnt confident in my responses. Highly recommend.

I had been to a couple of the discount places and was disappointed in the quality of both my exam and the glasses I received. I ended up returning to Dr. McDonald, after many year away, and couldnt be happier. I received a thorough exam and my glasses are perfect! Everyone in the office was super nice and they are very COVID conscious with their precautions and safety requirements. Dr MCDonald is great, but the wait time on getting my glasses this time was unbelieveable. I know that covid has slowed things down but it was excessive.

My second visit with Dr Scott McDonald and he thoroughly examined my eyes. I appreciate that he took the time to check them! The staff was friendly and professional as well! Also, I was pleased to see that during this pandemic that they kept their masks on and wore gloves! There was a shield at the counter and one where the doctor examines the eyes! Hand sanitizers were available as well! I highly recommend this practice!

Excellent and thorough examination by Dr. McDonald. Would recommend this doctor to anyone with eyemed insurance looking for a quality exam.Pleasant but dumb staff who are not invested in ensuring your experience is satisfactory. Would strongly caution against ordering glasses. Request a copy of your prescription at the end of your exam (specifically request that your PD be printed. They already have those numbers saved but they will not print on the form) and order elsewhere.

Love Dr. McDonald, not so much the office staff.If things are running an hour behind schedule, it happens. But it’s a common curtesy to let your patients know that you’re running behind. I totally understand being busy, but tell me that so I can adjust my plans. I’m not sure of the lady’s name I spoke with but she wasn’t very kind about the issue.

Dr. McDonald is a nice man and gets the job done, but if you have to deal with the office staff I will wish you good luck.After my exam, I was given a trial pair of a new type of contacts I had never worn before with the instructions to call Dr. McDonald after a couple of weeks to report how I liked them. I had trouble adjusting to them and decided to speak with Dr. McDonald further about whether I should give it more time to adjust or just go back to the old kind of contacts. After two messages without a return call, I just decided it would be easier to go back to the old kind of contacts and ordered one box through the office.After a couple of weeks, I gave up waiting for the box of contacts and ordered from 800-contacts. Dr. McDonalds office later sent me a bill for $30 for the contacts that I never received.I called to try to explain to them that I never received the contacts and was treated quite rudely by Tammy. In a haughty tone, she interrupted me while I was trying to explain what happened and argued with me that they in fact DID send me emails about the contacts being I the office. She continued to explain that there is a $5 restocking fee. At this point, I was pretty upset. I felt like she didn’t care what happened, she just wanted to charge me for something. She was being pretty insolent about it. I told her that I felt she had been rude and bitchy to me and I didn’t think I should have to pay for the contacts, since I never received them. She then called me a bully. Because I stood my ground and told her I wasn’t paying for them? I wasn’t harassing her or trying to hurt her. Maybe she should look up what a bully is in the dictionary. I have never been called a bully in my life and I couldn’t believe how she treated me.I just felt like the experience after my exam was pretty terrible. I completely understand if messages get lost or people get busy. Maybe my spam setting was too high on my email. Whatever happened, I was completely fine with going back to that office until my dealings with Tammy.

EDIT: In retrospect, Im changing my review to a 1 star. This office insisted that the physics of light do not apply to contact lenses because they touch your eyes, and that if my prescription had changed so drastically in the past 7 months, that I must have diabetes. Ive gone over my records of previous prescriptions, and have found that -4.5 diopters for contacts and -5.25 for glasses is exactly the spread my prescriptions have always been, which apparently never happens in young folk. I will not be bringing my business to this office again.Ive had perfectly decent experiences with this office up until this point. The exam I had here was pleasant, the wait times perfectly reasonable, and the service everything youd expect out of an office like this.However, these past couple of weeks have given me reason to doubt my confidence in this office. Recently, Ive had reason to order a new pair of glasses. As such, I called into this office asking after a copy of my glasses prescription. After an unreasonable amount of explaining why I wasnt just waiting till my next eye exam, I was finally able to get this office to print it off for me.Two weeks later I received my glasses, only to find that the prescription was horribly off. On closer inspection, I find that my contacts prescription was printed of on a glasses prescription form instead of my actual prescription for glasses. Obviously, I was rather frustrated to learn that Id just wasted time and good money on glasses that were for all intents and purposes, useless to me.So I called in again, asking if there had been some sort of mix up, that perhaps they had printed off the wrong prescription. Instead, I was meet with arguments that the two different prescriptions would have the exact same diopter strength, that it must have been that the glasses were made incorrectly, and that theyd be happy to check the glasses, and check my eyes again to make sure that my eyes hasnt deteriorated in the few months since my last checkup. When I then inquired after what this would cost me, as this office has already told me that my insurance would not be covering more work till next September, the phone went silent long enough for me to drive out to the office before it finally hung up. At this point, obviously Im a little upset. When I approached the desk, I was met with defensive and argumentative attitudes, as once again, they couldnt have done anything wrong.Dr Scott checked my eyes, find that my glasses prescription was wrong and helped rectify the situation in my eyes. Had he not handled the situation as he did with as much patience as he did I probably would be taking my business elsewhere. My experience with the office staff at this establishment has been middling at best and downright inexcusable at worst. The only thing keeping me here and keeping me happy as a client is the way dr. Scott handles himself and the quality of his work. If however I have to argue with office staff over the phone or in person again I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

Dr. Haley is incredible! She found a piece of metal embedded in my eye on Oct. 26th and removed it. She numbed it good and I never felt a thing. Shes incredibly informative about what shes doing and explains her diagnosis. The metal was almost microscopic but causing a lot of watering and swelling in my eyelid. Would highly recommend her to anyone.

Both doctors spent much time with me getting my prescription for new contacts correct. Very informative about the type of contacts and what to expect from each. I highly recommend this young duo of docs.
