I was in a car accident and have tried physical therapy, a different Chiroprator, massage, orthopedics, yoga, anything I could. Basically the orthopedist said my only option was pain management, who wanted to burn my nerves off and give me steroid injections. I didn’t want to do that and that is when I found Dr. K. I feel like I’m making progress with my spinal issues. I love that it’s not just a typical chiropractic adjustment, I also have exercises I have to do, decompression, laser treatment, trigger point therapy, and home care. We do progress checks with xrays so I can actually see the changes happening. Everyone there is friendly, the office is clean and modern. Scheduling is easy. I’ve had a few challenges with insurance and payments but nothing major and it’s always been corrected quickly. I would highly recommend Dr K for any chiropractic need!

I was diagnosed to have several discs o in my sacral area that was which she X-rayed the areas she felt were affected. And she was spot on in all the diagnosis made. She set up a treatment plan which involved my cooperation in the form of exercise and information on diet and its effects on our health.All in all this is a very caring, knowledgeable and compassionate staff with A nr 1 attitude. I feel rushed and overlooked there and they dont spend much time with me or listening to me as a patient. A huge money guzzler. Feels like profit over patient care is the priority. I have been a patient of Dr. Martin’s for six months. I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis and have constant pain, inflammation and stiffness. I have a targeting massage before each visit which has been beneficial to me. It relaxes the muscles so I can get an adjustment. She uses a different type of technique that is not as painful. Dr. Martin listens if you are having a bad day and adjusts your treatment. They use X-rays to actually target your problems. I will never be pain free but it has offered some relief, even it it’s temporary. The staff is wonderful, well educated, and caring. It is a comfortable, upbeat atmosphere, and they give a lot of encouragement.

My initial visit was wonderful. I was met with very knowledgeable staff. They went over my medical history, explained the equipment they use, and explained the spinal cord and how it works. The doctor did an initial exam and explained what areas need attention. I would highly recommended them.

I went for a few months and they kept saying that they where going to file my insurance but they never did. They sent me a bill for over $400 and never replied back to my emails about them filing with my insurance company. They turned over the balance to a collection agency. I feel they should remove the collection report from my credit report because they didnt file with my insurance.

My husband and I have been going to Merrimon Family Chiropractic for approximately five months now. I attend Asheville Community Yoga and am very happy that Merrimon Family Chiropractic was there giving spinal evaluations so that I became aware of them. I had my x-rays and started treatment in April. I felt so much better right from the very beginning, and had my husband start there as well.I am a senior and had been diagnosed with a degenerate hip. The idea of surgery is a non idea to me. However, at times walking without pain was not easy. Not only did Merrimon Family Chiropractic concentrate on my spinal and neck adjustments, but they have adjusted my hip so that I rarely have pain now when walking. My husband tends to overwork on our property, and as a result suffers from back pain. Particularly, Dr. Ben has been working with him, and helping him feel better.They are a great group of individuals, and make it truly enjoyable to attend. The doctors at Merrimon Family Chiropractic are a very caring group who seem truly interested in having you feel the best possible. Dr. Crystal Martin did not listen to me. She promised to help me maintain my previously straightened spine and neck. Instead she reversed 4 years of prior treatment by my previous chiropractor. She did exactly opposite of what my x-rays showed and bashed my head into the bench several times in the opposite direction as well as beat my back and side with her equipment. She actually did the opposite of what was required to maintain my previous treatments. I left her office each time in extreme pain after being bashed and brutally manipulated back out of alignment. At first I thought she knew what she was doing. But, she didnt. After each visit with Dr. Martin, who was very heavy handed, all the hard work done by my previous chiropractor was reversed. Every time I left this office I was in extreme pain. I never felt this pain after any treatment with my prior chiropractor. Im back to square one, and now drive out of state back to my former chiropractor to be realigned. Treatment is still ongoing to correct the viciously brutal treatment I experienced at the hand of Dr. Martin. After only a few office visits I realized this doctor was looking at my x-rays in reverse. I stopped going after only a few visits, unlike her response that said after many visits. This was an experience I will never forget, and certainly never repeat with Dr. Martin. Would NEVER recommend.

I was first introduced to chiropractic through my father. When my Dad was younger, half his face became paralyzed (Bells Palsy). Back then, chiropractic was even more misunderstood than it is today. After several visits to multiple neurologists and traditional doctors who did nothing, he decided to give chiropractic medicine a try. One adjustment was all he needed, and his facial paralysis was instantly cured. Most people dont believe this story, but whatever, sucks for them.I almost broke my neck in a severe accident and had chronic pain for years. Combined with the fact that I work on a computer, I was getting terrible head/neck aches every day.After a few visits the pain was gone in the most intense areas, and my quality of life improved dramatically. It even helped my allergies. I rounded out the treatment with a series of massages to reduce ligament tension and scar tissue around the injury. Im pain free now.If you have chronic back/neck/head pain, at least try chiropractic care before you let someone dig around in your spine with a knife or pump you full of medications for the rest of your life.

I was recommended to Merrimon Family Chiropractic because of a bulging disc in my neck. I tried massage, heat, and physio-tape, which in the past helped the discomfort but over time couldn’t manage it. After completing my sessions, my neck pain was gone and I noticed things like sleeping on my side was actually comfortable again. Merrimon Family Chiropractic helped me get back to doing my job - racing bikes - and it made it a little less painful.

After just one message I felt like a new person . This place can change your life! My husband has some pretty severe heart problems and after 3 heart attacks and as many surgeries his cardiac doctors wanted to implant a device inside his heart to keep it beating steady. For him chiropractic was a very last resort but now he is urging other people to go in. The hope we didnt even notice we had lost is back. He is in his 2nd full week of treatment and our lives are different. He is becoming the funny, loving, silly man I married. We are excited for his next cardiac appointment to see how he is improving. If I could give less than one star I would. I waited a long time to write this. review. Mainly because I just wanted to forget the experience. However, I think others should know that this practice isnt a good one. I have been regularly getting chiropractic care once a month for the last 20 plus years. When I first moved to Asheville I wanted to find a practice that could continue the care I was used to getting. I came to this office because of the good google reviews. However, this place is a joke. My first appointment took a total of 1 & 1/2 hrs. I had to read some educational material about subluxation and if I recall correctly, I even take some silly written test about what I had read. Then I was grilled about what I read by his assistant once I was put back in the room. I felt like I was trapped in a live action telemarketing call. Once I was in the room with Dr. Fortini, he refused to adjust me without me first agreeing to x-rays. Although I cant say anything inappropriate happened, I will tell you that I felt very uneasy around him. After all of this ridiculousness, they tried to make me come back to a group session that would require even more of my time. Something they require all of their new patients to attend to help educate them further before you can be scheduled for another appointment. I refused this as well, paid my co-pay (for absolutely no treatment), and left. Several months later I got word from my insurance that this office was attempting to collect payment for the x-rays I never got. I called this office and they withdrew the claim. Tried to play it off like it was some innocent computer error. I was livid. I have never been to a place where I have been treated so well. Ive never experienced anything but kindness, and always greated by name. Thats so unusual for most places you go. I came into this office in a lot of pain and numbeness. After just a month and a half, Ive felt so much better!

When I walked into Merrimon Family Chiropractic I felt and still feel like a part of the family. They CARE. The staff there is very helpful and kind. My life is becoming adjusted in more ways then one. I know that adjustments are making the blood flow better because my migraines have decreased, the tension in my back and neck is so much better. the clinical massage therapist is awesome too. I had siatica reer its head and she helped me know alittle more about what I needed to do to take care of it so I could go on my honeymoon. I love this chiropractors office because it doesnt feel like an office. it feels like your home with family.

Because I value my time, I would not consider returning to Merrimon Chiropractic. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes for my appointment, I was told that the doctor I was waiting to see would not see me until two other patients who arrived after me would be seen. It turns out that the receptionist did not schedule me for the doctor I requested, and instead made her own determination based on the fact that I was a new patient. She failed to tell me which doctor she had scheduled me for when I set the appointment. As it was, I waited a full hour in their waiting room before I was called by the doctor she had scheduled me for. When I told him that I hadnt scheduled to see him, he told me to wait for the one I had asked for. I sat in a treatment room for another 15 minutes when it became clear that I was looking at a still longer wait, as at that point I heard the doctor I was waiting for telling the schedulers that he had two other people to see first. At that point, Id had enough of my Merrimon Chiropractic experience, so went back to the front desk to ask for a refund. The receptionist was very rude and told me that I had gotten it wrong with which doctor I was to see. In fact, the error was all hers, as she never told me that she didnt schedule me for the doctor who I requested. As it was, I would have still waited an hour just to see the doctor I hadnt asked for. Id been to their office the week earlier with the friend who had recommended the chiropractor, and that visit we waited for over half and hour. So all in all, I wasted a quarter tank of gas, two hours of driving to and from the appointment, the aggravation of sitting around their offices for 75 minutes, and then being treated rudely by a receptionist who was in the wrong. If they offered me a free appointment at this point, I wouldnt take it. It doesnt matter how good a practitoner may be - if they have a dysfunctional front desk and over book, they arent worth seeing. Disrespectful, disappointing and unprofessional experience.

I was dubious when I first made my appointment. I had been told by an allergist to never see a chiropractor. From the moment I walked in I knew I had made the right decision. The office staff is always accommodating. My severe headaches were alleviated almost immediately. My allergy attacks are also less frequent. My experience has been nothing but positive. Prior to coming to this place I experienced chronic back pain and muscle spasms due to a server accident a couple years back. Overall, I am a very healthy, active, balanced person and sought to heal the areas that were out of balance. I am very happy I stumbled into this chiropractor. All the people here are super friendly, always smiling, and helpful. The adjustments serve the body well. Within my time span here I went from my initial 10 degrees angle (this is the angle that the neck needs to be to allow maximum amount of flow to the rest of the body through the spinal cord) to 17 degrees to now 21 degrees. I need to be at 33 degrees. Im pleased to see the progress and I can feel a TREMENDOUS difference in my back and posture. Keep up the good work!

When I began treatment here I was having trouble with my lower back getting very tight after standing a while or walking a lot. After a few months of treatment, I definitely felt a difference. I recently went on a 3 week trip to Italy where I walked 3-5 hours every day and stood in art museums for hours. I had no trouble at all. If I had gone on this trip a year ago, I wouldve had to sit some things out. I truly appreciate how considerate and kind the entire staff is. A whole new level of chiropractics! Dr. Fortini is at the top of his field and it shows in his work. Since my first visit about two months ago, the curvature of my spine has corrected over 10 degrees (its visible on an x-ray!), Ive cut my anti-anxiety meds in half and completely ceased my sleeping medication, my posture has improved, and my pain levels have dropped dramatically. It is absolutely astonishing. Dr. Fortini provides an excellent education on the many crucial functions of the spine, as well as nutrition and lifestyle changes I can make to improve my overall health. I love going to Merrimon Family Chiropractic, everyone there are really nice and very friendly. They all make you feel right at home. I personally have only been going for 2 weeks now and Im only 22 years old and I can tell a complete difference in my spine neck and shoulders. I always thought going to the Chiro would hurt or be to aggressive, but ever since I have experienced it myself I love going and who knew your spine controlled majority of your body and your nerves. I would go everyday if I could. My 2 children and I are receiving chiropractic care and are extremely happy with the results!! Every doctor and staff member has made their experience welcoming and loving. Both sons are currently active in Tae Kwon Do, Bike Club, and Baseball which has resulted in several months of chronic neck and back pain. After the first treatment they had immediate relief and have been better athletes, have been able to have a good nights rest, and have had more energy during the day at school! I have also been treating for neck and back pain with chronic headaches. I have improvement in all areas and have been greatful that I do not have to medically manage my pain but use natural methods.

Dr Fortinis orientation on my first visit really helped me let go of the angst I held because of past bad chiropractic care in the past. After only 6 visits, Im no longer having pain in my right hip from years of drumset playing, experiencing more flexibility in my kneck, and generally feeling more energized. Dr. Craig worked wonders on my neck, back and jaw within months of starting a treatment plan. Since a bad experience in college, Ive always been suspicious of chiropractors of being out to take my money for unnecessarily frequent office visits. I was an as-needed patient converted to a regular care plan, and its been worth the investment. I felt like Dr. Craig spent extra time and care making sure that I was correctly aligned and he addressed all my concerns. Im also a severe TMJ patient who had relapsed into painful jaw-popping, and the issue has subsided to the point where I rarely think about it. Their front desk staff is terrific. Unfortunately Dr. Craig had heart trouble and doesnt work there anymore, but the other Drs. offer good care at a fairly reasonable price if you dont have insurance coverage like me.

I first sought Chiropractic Care in Brandon, MS in 2009 for a problem that had plagued me for several years. Steroid injections, anti-inflammatories, and physical therapy gave temporary relief but nothing actually corrected the problem. After approximately 2 months of chiropractic treatment, I was vastly improved and with continued monthly visits, became pain free.We moved to WNC in the fall of 2013 and because of all of the issues involved in buying and renovating a house, and getting started, I neglected my chiropractic needs for over a year. HUGE MISTAKE! After becoming increasingly uncomfortable and developing numerous problems, I researched and discovered Merrimon Family Chiropractic. I asked for an evaluation appointment and realized immediately they were a perfect fit for me. We agreed on a course of treatment and they are getting me back on track.
