Carolina Eye is great and concerned about my eye health. They are so supportive and make you feel like family. My recent eye surgery was great. I didn’t have any issues. It’s was great to feel so at ease. The nurse was attentive. I feel my Doctor is the greatest.

I am so sorry I ever went to this practice. I believe some of their Doctors are competent, BUT, the back office staff are terrible!Taking the Asheboro NC office as an example, when you present yourself at the receptionist often there is no one at the window. If there is, you are NOT acknowledged by the woman at the window if she is BUSY chit-chatting with a coworker you cool your heels until she deigns to find you worthy of her attention.You are NOT greeted with a smile or any warmth whatsoever.The clientele of most ophthalmology offices are ELDERLY. We have numerous medical issues and often one of them is a difficulty to stand or walk. You would think the knowledge of that would motivate the receptionist to treat patients with greater courtesy… but NOT in the Asheboro office.PHONE ETTIQUITE: No matter which CAROLINA EYE office you call and no matter which day you call you are greeted with a recording which says “OUR hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. … Please call back during regular business hours.So if you start calling at 7:50 a.m. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. They don’t even bother to turn off the recording. It’s almost like their attitude is: “Pah! Patients. Who wants to be bothered with them!It makes no difference whether you call the main number or the 800 number.Then when they DO get around to turning off the “we’re closed message” God help you if you need to confirm an appointment or speak to someone in billing. MOST of the time all you’re able to do is leave a message which either will NOT be returned until AFTER your appointment or if you’re trying to reach BILLING…not for days!I could go on and on but you get the picture. Save yourself the aggravation and go to another practice…any other practice.

This was my first time at this facility. Everyone was really friendly and professional.I especially appreciated their efforts to work with this COVID 19 situation and mask up and wipe things down for the health of everyone. This is a sacrifice I know for some of us and they demonstrated their willingness to do so. Thank you

Great service. Poor scheduling. We were waiting there for over an hour. when we saw the Dr, That took only about 10 minutes.

Gayle the receptionist was very who and rude to my mother who had to have paperwork filled out the day If the appointment, She had a appointment for a separate day that they changed on their own accord and only alerted my mother through the mail that the appointment had been changed till the very last possible day. We waited 3+ hours for them to do a test they initially forgot to do. Gayle then said that the Doctor had to wait to do the exam and then its there is no one that can do the test. Be prepared for excuses and attitudes.Awful customer service. Awful business.

Gail (at the front desk) has a poor attitude. First my MIL was told that it would be just 30 minutes, and now we have been told it would be 2-3 hours before she would be seen for an exam because there is no one else available to do the exam. Also, when speaking to a Spanish-speaking interpreter she would talk over them and raise her voice, not giving them a chance to speak- even though the interpreter said multiple times she was there to translate for the family.

Had a very positive experience with Carolina Eye Care. Had cataract surgery everything went fine. Dr. Handily very thorough.

They take forever. I have been going to these providers for 2 years. Expect to wait atleast 1-2 hours before seeing a provider. Even if you are the first appt. Handley always does a dilation which is not necessary on a yearly basis especially in the younger population.

They tell me to be in at 12:30. It Iis now 2:48 and Im still waiting to be seen. Severe pain, yet I must sit in waiting room for all this time around loud families, etc. They are still unable to tell me the time I will be taken back. And they called me for the appointment!
