This was my 2nd visit to this hospital. Last November I took a covid test there prior to a hernia operation. This time at the ripe old age of 80, I needed a bone density scan. Again I found the reception desk people and the medical technicians to be extremely courteous, efficient and highly skilled. In addition I got my test results within a day!

My son needed emergent care while we were visiting the area from out of state. We were taken back to a room immediately upon arriving. The nurses, staff and doctors were timely, friendly, compassionate and understanding. Truly THE BEST ER experience we have ever had.

Had appt for pre surgery covid test, it was on time, fast, personnel was so very polite and professional.

The fairly young staff of the ER, hospital doctors, nurses, and PAs have been awkward, aloof, and a bit cool, in the past.awell in making me feel like an imposition. Admin and medical professionals, all. Seems a bit like a “non-mentoring:’ situation persists. These youths need instruction on how to maintain on-the-job bedside manner. AG hospital, is not alone in having this issue.Similarly, the outer desk at the neurology office that moved in the last year or so has similar outer lobby. The nurses and my doctor are very good, but the phone office gal or two are flat out mean and rude to folks who are not, perhaps, on their game due to their neurological issues. In addition followups and record keeping are not consistent at all.

I was transferred to AG because French was full and what a surprised blessing!!! The nurses were VERY kind and friendly, the doctors were also great, even the cleaning guy made me smile. I really enjoyed my stay! Thank you!

I have been going to physical therapy with AGCH for about ten years, for different reasons. It is my favorite part of the hospital. Even when the therapy is painful or difficult, the staff is both caring and entertaining.A little laughter always eases one’s way, and they are good at that, while never losing sight of the serious goals to be met. I trust them as I would trust family members.Also, I went in this time with persistent lower back pain, and came away so much improved that my neighbors have all commented on my improved posture. With the pain, I was hunching over my walker.The physical therapy group is the one area of AGCH I would recommend without reservation.

In my opinion this establishment is very subpar for a good hospital setting. I felt I was not treated very well for various reasons and also have had people close to me not have a good experience while being there. This is my least favorite Dignity hospital I’ve been to out of the 3 in the area. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is that normally the wait time is excellent and also the registration department is very kind and helpful.Some key points I think they really need to work on are:- Check in on patients more often in the ER, especially more so when it’s not busy.- Keeping a more professional attitude.- Help assist more with getting ready for discharge.- Make sure your Security is patrolling outside more often as many weird people tend to walk around that area of town.I hope my personal opinion about the hospital is helpful to others and for the staff as I do really wish to see better things come from such a reputable company. It was an awful experience. Having COVID and not even offered monoclonal antibodies, just told to come back when I am pretty much at deaths door unable to breath. Fortunately found a doctor that would treat me. I will not be using your services again if there are any other options.

The physician and staff there were great! Went in with a broken leg and they were very attentive even with the new Covid ER guidelines.

I only used imaging services. Staff were great & made the MRI a comfortable and easy experience.

It absolutely never fails folks. Every time me or my family members come in here we have to stay waiting in the lobby in pain for at least 2-3 hours till we get to see a doctor at the emergency room. Waste of time and this has always been a failure of a hospital throughout the years, save your time if you can get around drive 20 minutes to Santa Maria or San Luis Obispo don’t come to this hospital you’ll just sit here in pain while other people who came after you go ahead of you.

Long wait just to take a covid test.and results took 7 days.they gave us the wrong info.to call and get results.The lady at front desk is not friendly at all.The fat nurse that took my results was mean to my partner.Not me.And she shoved the tip hard.this hospital is hell.people are rude staff.They need to organize and remanage.Also when I call in the er the man is always rude.

I found the staff to be very kind and thorough. The EMS gentleman at the door was top notch! The PA and nurses were kind and informative.I’m not an easy one to get an IV in and Justin RN was great! Chris RN was kind and considerateI left informed and cared for.

I had a wonderful experience here and all of the nurses, techs, and doctors were top notch! I felt so comfortable and safe the entire time and I was chatting and joking with everyone to the point that I felt like I was with family rather than undergoing an outpatient procedure.I am so thankful to have been born and raised in this community which is home to such a wonderful and caring facility!

They were very nice when I came in with a broken leg by ambulance only problem I see is dignity is not able to send X-rays and things like that to my orthopedic in Santa Barbara except by snail mail

Stating that a surgery was a great experience seems somewhat odd, right? Still, I have to do just that :) The staff at Dignity Health Arroyo Grande Hospital handled all aspects of my surgery experience so marvelously that they deserve the shout out. Starting with my pre-op appointment through to my discharge, I was very impressed. The nurses, aids and non-medical staff were professional, kind, attentive and quite skilled. And - get this - they even laughed at a couple of my old man jokes. The hospital is meticulously clean and the food is actually darned tasty. I am very grateful to everyone on the Dignity who participated in my care. This is a band of compassionate and competent people. Once we all get past this COVID thing, I’m going to lobby the hospital board to open a spa and possibly a B&B :)

I had fallen & hit my head really hard. It was bleeding & was very painful. The staff was great. They were very efficient, friendly & professional. The doctor was great. I’ve been to amArroyo Grande Hospital a few times for my husband & we have always been treated well there.

December 24 the staff and nurses were very compassionate and friendly as well as the physician assistant. The physician ran tests but would not adjust my medications so I returned on the 24th with much more significant and life threatening symptoms . This time the dr was extremely efficient and adjusted my medication. The nursing staff however were very cold and barely talked. I felt like I was a nuisance to them.

LIFESAVER ! Soon after we checked into the Shore Cliff Hotel in Pismo Beach late on Thursday my wife discovered she had a serious medical condition. We headed over here to seek medical attention and walked in about 9pm. I sat in the waiting area while my wife went into an examination room. After some time ( I think I fell asleep in a sitting position in my chair ) my wife emerged looking a tad relieved. I wont go into details for my wifes sake but she was given antibiotics and a prescription. It was close to 11pm when we headed back to our hotel. My wife was in somewhat better condition by the next morning. Thank you staff !

Had to return to AG Hospital 2 days after surgery due to complications. I was left in a room in the E.R. for over 4 hrs., I was very uncomfortable, thirsty and there was someone in the E.R. thats was very loud and disturbing. Sounded as though she required a mental evaluation, but continued to be disruptive.I eventually choose to leave the hospital and go home even though my doctor recommended me to stay.

The nurses and the care are 5 stars but the facility needs a remodeling. Its dark and not uplifting. When a person is frightened because of health problems, surgery, etc, it helps if the place is light, cheery.This one is the opposite.

I wasn’t happy with the Covid check in procedure. People were congregating around the check in desk. This meant that not only did you have to make your way in close contact through a crowd of people but that everyone could hear your name and why you were there. Bad for isolating from Covid and bad for HIPPA.The sign in procedure for the test was also ridiculous with multiple signatures demanded for obscure unexplained reasons.The test itself was well handled by professional staff. Admin needs a kick up the pants and a dose of common sense.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a hospital! Nurses did not come to check on me. Long story short the discharge nurse tried to lie and say one of the nurses gave me a pain pill which wasnt true. He said I could take mine which I didnt have on me they were at home. She brought my daughter into things which wasnt even relevant. She called the police because I refused to stay and they wanted me to take an uber from Ag to sm! I will never go back there!

Quick and efficent at getting thingddone

This place just keeps getting worse! No sight of a doctor anywhere and a technician comes out to the waiting room to call us back for an x-ray. Since when are there Diagnostics ordered before youve even seen a nurse, let alone a doctor?! And from the waiting room? It seems like as soon as Dignity Health takes over places go downhill quick.

It was only a CoVid test. Commenting merely to stop the texts and emails. Ask me about the SLO Infusion Center. There’s plenty to rant on there.

Need signs and directions to find lab

I fell of the bike when i had to go to ER. It was 2/1/2021. Everything went well, several x rays taken to rule out of fracture, pain med given and few days rest. Today after two weeks still Im in extreme pain i can not lift up my left shoulder. I dont understand why orthopedic referral not given!!??

Really long wait time in the ER. 3.5 hours to find out my daughter had a UTI.

I visited the ER for chest pains , severe head , body and stomach aches , but they documented that I visited for weakness.I sure did not appreciate such dishonesty !

I believe the ER doctor Dr Darger saved my life. I checked myself out and went to AG. and right away he told me what it was. Got 2 prescriptions and in less than 2 days I was better. I complained about being bloated several times a day during my stay at MMC.. I COULD HAVE DIED I FOUND OUT.THANK YOU AG!!!!

Extremely nice ER staff. Brought my wife there for an issue while we were on vacation. Wait time was very brief. Once we got in, everyone from the nurses to the doctors went above and beyond to be helpful and super courteous. They have her the help she needed and made a bad situation so much better. I definitely recommend coming here.

This is BY FAR the absolute WORST hospital I have ever been to! They are very rude and have no idea what they are doing. I suggest if your in need of emergency care go to the next closest one. I promise you will regret going here. Ive had not just one but many visits here and every single time its been a horrible experience due to their lack of empathy and knowledge.Example; I went because I had bear mace sprayed in my face, and I was very frantic in pain and couldnt sit still I couldnt even see. They first told me I would need to fill out these papers then wait in the waiting area to be seen.. lol uhm I cant see to fill out your papers and by the time Im done waiting it will have gone away! One of the nurses recommend I put water on it ! That is one of the worst things you can do for mace! I was in disbelief and just up and left. I really could go on and on about every visit but Im sure you get the point.

Settled down to watch a movie with my boyfriend with a dull ache in my back. Within 2 hours I was urinating blood that felt like razor blades and back pain had me bent over in tears. We came to this hospital and experienced zero wait time. The staff was incredibly kind in a genuine way and I never felt uncomfortable or ignored. They quickly subdued my pain to a more tolerable level and diagnosed a kidney infection. We were home within 4 hours or so and today I’m still feeling rough, but I also completely equipped with everything I need to beat this.Edit 1: I was give a prescription that didn’t beat the infection and my primary doctor confirmed it was the wrong one. I was also hit with 3 bills including one for $16,000 after paying $800 while in the ER. Still giving 3 stars for pain management and the staff.Edit 2: Back to five stars for the incredible service provided by Vicky and the billing team. This hospital truly treats people with human kindness.

I had a raging migraine and took everything under the sun to get rid of it but nothing worked, @ 9pm I went into the ER (obviously no doctor was open at that time) and was YELLED at because “I was there for a headache” mind you I have a history of brain tumor , something serious could’ve been going on but was only put on IV for saline and told to leave with no further medical examination with the pain still very much present. I’d rather die on my way to Sierra vista than go here ever again.

What an incredible speedy experience!I actually live about 4hrs away. We are on vacation and my daughter got but by a spider. This was the nearest hospital and seriously the best hospital experience and care ive ever experienced! great doctors speedy but thorough. Much better than where we live :)

Unfortunately our family has been seen about 6 times within the past year in the ER at AG Hospital. Every time we have gone, we have been treated very professionally and attended to quickly and thoroughly. Id recommend this facility for their outstanding ER Dept.

My fa.ily has had nothing but the best treatment at Arroyo Grande Hospital...day and night. The staff and doctors are efficient, responsive, proactive, and careing. My Mom was treated very well in the ER and hospital for a heart attack at 98 years of age. Both my husband and I have been treated in the ER, labs, and hospital with care, concern, and skill and knowledge. I recently went to the ER for a suspected aortic aneurysm or heart attack and I had an EKG, CT scan, and a doctors attention in under 45 minutes...So happy to live close to this hospital...which is growing and expanding to offer many more services.
