This place sucks! Very short staff and too many people. They let me run out of medication for 2 days before doing something about it. Highly not recommended!

There is a lot of opinions when people visit footprints... some might say they didnt get anything out of their experience here. But I believe just the opposite, throughout my experience here, not only have I gained confidence in myself but I have gained so much from the groups here as well. Most rehabs focus on the problem of addiction, and to that I say, I know the problem I am the problem thats why Im here. And footprints does more than just that, they flip the discussion and instead talk about the solution. And thats just clinical. Housing is so much more, no matter what kind of day you have the housing staff is always here on time and happy. The light in the darkest time in peoples lives. They treat the patients like their friends while still maintaining a professional composer. You can tell they genuinely care about our well being and treat us more that of just an addict, a person, a person trying to better their life and leave this place in a better mindset than they entered. So yes I loved footprints its not a 5 star resort but why would it be? Its a crossroad in your life you are only meeting once (hopefully) and its definitely one Ill never forget and whos lessons I will always carry with me.

My husband and I are appreciative of the care and support our daughter received from Aaron @ Footprints. He helped her find treatment and has followed up on how she’s doing and her next steps. Aaron truly cares about her recovery and we cannot be more thankful! ❤️

My son learned a lot while at Footprints. He was in 3 of there locations over 18 months time. The staff for the most part kept me informed, returned calls promptly and were always professional. Nick, Brandon’s counselor was always easy to communicate with and he took the time out to not only address my concerns but some days just listen to me vent. I also can’t say enough good things about Aaron Putman. One day, after meeting my son during his comedy class he called me. He said “I like to help your son”. He talked to my son on a different kind of level. Aaron opened up and shared his experiences as a father of a young son. He went above and beyond to stay involved and help anyway he could. He’s still keeping in touch! I also can’t forget Sonya, the housing manager at the Illinois location. Thank you for everything you did to make Brandon’s stay as comfortable as possible and for keeping housing safe for everyone. You have a tough job but you handle it like a champ. To the rest of the Footprint staff, thank you for everything you taught my son and I. May god bless you always.

Footprints cares!!! Their family support group has changed my relationship with my daughter in beautiful ways that allow us to support one another without giving up our own sanity. Addiction tears at the fibers of the family. There’s no magic wand, but it’s encouraging to know that my daughter will always have her Footprints people; and I will, too!

Footprints is a great place to learn the tools to stay sober as well as apply them to real life, as opposed to an institutionalized setting. You feel a sense of home with down to earth staff who understand that everyone is going thru the same struggles but not everyone is the same person. I felt very seen as an individual here, not just another client. Aaron was the most helpful at housing, he always went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and he had a huge part in showing me that its possible to have sober fun, as well as how thats done. Also nick was my counselor at clinical and he is the best ever, he is genuinely caring , straightforward, and easy to talk to. He always made time for me and advocated forme. I never had to hound him to take care of things for me, which was a complaint some peers had about other counselors. I loved footprints & it will always hold a place near & dear to my heart.

I was at Footprints to Recovery, at the Elgin location, this past summer from late July to early October. As is with any place, it has it’s ups and downs but if you go in knowing that you’ll get out whatever you put in, then you will more than enjoy your time there and you will kick off your recovery the right way. I’d especially like to put a focus on one of the staff members that had an impact and continues to have an impact on my life, Aaron Putnam. During the majority of my time there, he was a tech on the housing side but has since been promoted to Alumni and Events Coordinator.I have never seen or experienced the kind of devotion that he showed to the clients there, including myself. Whether it was organizing little events and activities to help bring the fun back into living and recovering, to always being there to listen and to talk, he was always running around constantly and almost always working overtime. He knows what it is to fight this battle and so when he see’s someone else fighting the good fight, he doesn’t hesitate to jump on board and do everything in his power to keep that train moving.Since graduating from Footprints in October, he’s introduced me to my, now, landlord and so was part of the reason I am living in my beautiful apartment in Chicago, has and is always willing to take me and whom ever else wanted to go, to meetings, helped my boyfriend get a job and, most recently, introduced me to my, now, sponsor. Just to name a few..He’s changed mine and so many other’s lives and his efforts deserve to be acknowledged. Footprints is incredibly lucky to have him. Thank you, Aaron!!!

HORRIBLE. This is supposed to be a safe place to medically detox. Yet, they sent me to the emergency room. Its obviously not safe if they have to call an ambulance to take you to the ER to do their job. After you PAID THEM out of pocket to medically supervise and treat your detox symptoms. I paid to be treated by doctors and nurses so I wouldnt need an emergency room (not to mention an extra bill from said ER). There were a few nice staff members but also a few lazy unknowledgable nurses. When it was time for me to go detox elsewhere all of my things were in complete disarray. Im also missing a few pieces of clothing. I will amend this to say there was one guy.. I think he was a.. night monitor or something..that young man held my hair for me while I puked. He was very attentive he just didnt have any control over the care I received from the nurses. Also there was one nurse who seemed genuinely concerned and willing to help. They just are basically playing a guessing game about which meds you need or just giving you whatever they have on hand at the time. Which is exactly what landed me in the ER. After the one competent nurse, I had a visit from another nurse at 3am and then didnt see any nurse again until 8am. All the while puking and convulsing.. for 5 hours. They are supposed to be seeing you every 2 hours. I went 5 hours without a nurse and the poor aforementioned young man was really stuck doing his best to help me. Then when I finally got to see a nurse at 8am she gave me three different doses of different meds. One trying to amend the other. That lack of understanding of which meds are appropriate for which symptoms is DANGEROUS andwhat ultimately sent me to the ER. I cant say this enough... if its a SAFE place to medically detox I wouldnt have been sent to AN EMERGENCY ROOM. Safe emergencies are nonexistent.

Footprints to Recovery really has changed my life for the better. The whole staff is amazing and willing to work with each client on an individual basis. The program has grown expotentially since I started treatment and still managed to hold that gold standard of care for clients as a whole and on the individual level. This program really has helped me transition back into the world while maintaining my sobriety. This program has honestly saved my life and Im forever grateful to the staff and fellow clients who have come into contact with at Footprints to Recovery! Also I love that they encourage clients who have successfully completed the program to come back an visit as alumni.

This was my second time there and the first time was good. This time was awful I would never recommend it. The group sizes were over 30 patients. No personal attention. Techs and the Counselors appear stressed and irritable all the time. My counselor Stephanie was rude all the time and didnt help me. They changed management to some cold lady who has no idea how to treat addicts. Dr Stacy Lott still plays favorites especially to the men as usual. She lets some stay after they relapse if they have good insurance and even after bringing drugs in and ruining the community plus risking our safety. While others get kicked out for no reason. I dont know if its because GIL the sober living house is being sued or if Footprints is becoming a mill just like the rest of them, packing in as many as possible to make money over quality care. DONT GO!

This is one of the best treatment facilities in the states, I have been all over the country to 5 star treatment centers and this one provides the perfect balance between accountability and freedom. They wont fix you but if you are committed to your recovery I would highly recommend this if you or a loved one is suffering. They allow you enough freedom to hang yourself with this isnt a traditional locked facility that you can not leave, it is an outpatient that has housing as well. I love what this facility is about and their approach, they have wonderful staff and usually a good group of clients. They take you to AA and NA meetings once a day five days a week with this in addition to the care they provide it really gets you ready for the next level of care. This is place is a lower level of care, i dont know how to word this exactly but, if you are fearful that having freedom is not good for you early in sobriety I would recommend a higher level of care for the first week or so before coming here. This is a great place but it is what you make it, they say you could get sober in a crack house and high in the best treatment center. I meet a lot of great people here, the staff is wonderful, and I met some life long sober friends here. It really changed my life when I was ready to make the change.

This place is home for me. Everyone single one of the staff members has became near and dear to my heart. I wouldn’t send my loved ones anywhere else. This place showed me skills on how to stay sober but also getting in a routine of waking up in the morning, going to work, going to meetings, how to cook for myself, how to clean up after myself, and how to live in a community of people and to express care and concern for those people. Love this place!

If it I wasnt for Footprints to Recovery I am certain I would not be alive today. The staff are professional, and truly care about every clients needs. The Regional Director Dr. Stacy Lott has gone above and beyond to make it possible for clinets to get education, psychological services, spiritual support, and still having the luxury of being able to attend outside activities as a community. I think that is crucial for people struggling with addiction to understand that having fun still happens in recovery. Footprints really helped with my co-occurring disorders which was really important to me because my depression/anxiety was a major reason for my drug usage. I will forever be grateful to Footprints and all the staff, and recommend anyone who may need treatment, and help transitioning back into society to go there!

I just left this place early because I wasnt getting any value out of the clinic sessions hardly at all and if youve ever seen the movie Animal House - this is very similar with regards to how it is run in general. Today was my my 14th day there and my last. I left early - I still havent had orientation! I was scheduled to meet with my so-called counselor on Monday and its Thursday and nothing but crickets. If youre serious about your recovery and not just a place to stay because your parents have insurance but dont want you back home or if youre serious about recovery - do yourself a favor and fine any place else. Youll thank me later. I wanted to give 2 stars to be nice but just cant bring myself to do it if Im being honest. A few decent staff members dont make up for the lack of overall disorganization of the entire organization. Youre welcome in advance...

Footprints to recovery goes above and beyond the expectations that is needed of them if it wasnt for them I wouldnt be alive today. They showed me that you could have sober fun taking us to events on Saturdays that we as clients got to choose from. Stacy went above and beyond expectation even when I wasnt a client anymore and when I was finished with outpatient, they were getting nothing from me (money from insurance) and still picking me up and taking me to work. I highly recommend this place to anyone struggling right now. Shout out to Dave Fasken housing director, Dr. Stacy Lott, Natalie Woulf, Mara Goldberg, William Wilder, and Michael Milch. Thank you for saving my life 😊😊😊

If you have an obligation to the courts or to your parents this is the place for you because you can relapse multiple times and still be welcomed. If you are looking for a singles retreat to hook up and relapse with someone with again this is the place for you. If you want to attend groups where everyone just talks about war stories of doing drugs this is the place for you. Lastly if you want to be treated terribly by majority of the staff for doing nothing but trying to recover this again is the place for you. IT SUCKS. period

My name is Diana. I was at Brooktree Health Services from beginning of september to end of october. I got there not even knowing I would end up there. I was scared, and in unfamiliar territory, as I am from NJ. The staff there was incredibly helpful, especially the housing director and the councelors. My councelor helped me find housing, as I didnt have anywhere to live. She also connected me with scholarships through which I got my first 2 weeks rent covered once I got to NJ. The groups were very interactive, and I was able to get a head start on a lot of deep rooted issues I was dealing with at the time. I will have a year clean on September 2nd. This place was the beginning to my journey. I feel I definitely got the best start possible. Xo
