Front desk be to busy shoving chicken nuggets down her throat to answer the phone. Not once was I rude it was three days without knowing of my mom. Then you call to ask for information. And she just hangs up on the first ring.. picks rhe phone up then hangs up right away. Again and again. Still to this day wondering what I did wrong, Id understand if i was mean or rude. But just hang up just for the hell of it thats missed up. Your staff is a joke.

Food is better than most hospitals , but visitors parking lot is only filled with staff’s cars, do not expect ANY communication from them . Also keep track of how many days you or your loved ones are there because they don’t warn you like they say they do after your insurance days are over .

My Mother was on the Rehab side, floor 1. The staff was wonderful to her. Of course, its not the same as being at home, but they try quite hard to make the patients feel welcome. I would even witness nurses and aides bringing her their own favorite tea to share. If Mom asked for something, that wasnt available in their kitchen, theyd put up a note for us, and wed stock that item in Moms room. Whether it was her favorite ginger ale or hot tea.

This place is a joke. Im sitting in the full visitors parking lot, just watching the staff come and go. There is one nurse in a grey Mercury SUV who came out to sit in her car for 20 minutes, which is parked in a visitors spot. Another nurse just showed up in a red car and parked in a visitors spot, also. As she was walking to work with milkshake in hand, I rolled down the window and asked her Are you a visiting? She naturally replies: Huh? I continue: Are you a visitor or do you work here? Since she has a nurses uniform, she replied, confused: Oh, I work here. I held up my phone and said Well, Im leaving a review right now, because Im noticing all the staff is parking here in the visitors lot. You know you guys shouldnt be doing that. She said Oh! Im going to move my car right now! I said thats okay, stay there, Ill park over there, and drove to the gravel lot a little further away, one of the places where staff are supposed to park. The point is, if these people are so inconsiderate, break rules, and cant walk an extra ten feet, how do you expect them to care for your loved ones? If they dont care about doing the right thing, I can only expect them to do the wrong thing. And if you cant walk an additional ten or twenty feet, how can I expect you to take someone to the bathroom, or provide any other proper care?Another issue is that some of these visitors are elderly, and need to park closer to the door. This incident, for managments information, was in the back parking lot at the rehabilitation facility. You guys really need to rethink some of your staff here, its pretty bad when you have multiple employees that cant follow simple and clearly marked instruction.Edit: I had to change my review from 1 star to 3, for two reasons. Or rather, two people. The black male nurse taking care of my grandmother is always so kind and attentive, and same for the tall, very short-haired white female. She is very attentive and kind as well. Naturally, its not justified to leave a 1-star review based on several bad apples. However, as I was walking in from leaving the initial review, I saw another nurse leaning on her gold Camry parked in the very first visitors spot, closest to the door.I believe that, in health care, you really have to regularly weed out the inconsiderate employees, and hold on to those hard-working, considerate, and kind ones mentioned above, as these people have, after all, lives in their hands.

Came in for a charity bed. 2 weeks later, I am being discharged still not able to walk and they do not care at all. I am being discharged over money. So much for charity bed. I am as bad off as when I got here. They had no intention in helping me. If you are considering sending a loves one here. DONT. Also they wont even help me get a wheelchair even though I cant walk.

My Mom has lived here for over 2 yrs now, she receives good care & is happy being there all & all. She is completely alert & her only medical problems are inability to walk & care for herself beyond feeding. Im thankful for the staff as I am unable to care for her the way they do.

I had a grand mother who lived here in her final days and it was a terrible place to visit. The staff had an attitude which was dont bother me, Im busy watching my television show, the food was acceptable and I can vouch for the fact DO NOT LEAVE ANY THING THERE UNLESS YOU WANT IT STOLEN. We found out very quickly that even clothes were being stolen. We left nothing in the the room. Not even socks. We had to change our grandmother every day, bring the clothes home, change her bed sheets and do pretty much every thing for her. We were very unhappy and will never leave a loved one there again. What is wrong with our health care system. Why cant we find care for the elderly which provides 24/7 care for those who need it.

My Friend was sent here after a tragic stroke, which has rendered him totally incapacitated. His only form of communication is to blink his eyes and try to nod his head. His arms and legs do not work and his bodily functions are catheter and colostomy. He was sent here from the hospital because there is no one who can take care of him every day. His children are 15 and 16 years old and his parents are deceased. No brothers and sisters to mention. Bill is a 42 year-old-man who suffered a sever stroke. His children came to visit him and found him totally unresponsive. He is malnourished, has bed sores, and is knocking on deaths door now at Apopka Florida Hospital, in ICU!Do not take your friends or family to this place. It needs to be shut down. They are getting paid by the state and they are letting him lay there to ROT! This is disgusting...I wrote that post about 6 months ago, since then, my friend has passed away in their care and didnt notify his family. They just transferred him to Hospice care and within 24 hours he died. DEPLORABLE! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN!

My grandmother was in Florida Living Nursing Center in Apopka, FL. This facility did not provide my grandmother with quality care or follow her plan of care from her doctors when she was transferred to this facility. After being there for two days, they had not gotten her up to pee, or move at all. On the second day they drugged her up so much she wasnt making any sense. On Thursday April 25, 2019, my grandmother advocated for herself and told her doctor ( DR. BEZAK) at Florida Living that she wanted to be transferred to AdventHealth -(waterman) Hospital in Tavares. Dr Bezak told my grandmother and grandfather that what they needed to do was give them more time to get her care started and going. He said that he would not sign off for her to be released and transferred back to Waterman Hospital (tavares), he told them that there was no reason for her to be transferred, that she was medically fine and needed to give treatment time. ( During these full three days, they had not moved her once from her bed, to pee, to give medication or to do physical therapy). My grandmother again said she wished to go to the hospital, he refused again. And said that if she wanted to go she would have to call 911 and have EMS transport her. Upon hearing this information i called 911 and directed EMS to transport her from Florida Living Nursing Center to AdventHealth (Waterman - Taveres) Hospital. On the way to the hospital my grandmother died. I was this doctor and facility investigated for not following a patients plan of care or listening to a patient and the family advocating for that patient. This doctor does not deserve to practice medicine if he is not able to listen to his own patients wishes and directives. This was very clearly neglect and I will be contacting a lawyer as well to ensure that Dr. Bezak never does this to another patient and their family again.

My wife has been at this facility for around 6 months, she has been on the 200 unit and I have witnessed some pretty troubling behavior by staff. CNAs are consistently rude, I have heard no less than a dozen arguments between different CNAs on the unit. Asking them to perform care or change my wife gets you an attitude, like its an inconvenience for them to do their job. They are also pretty disrespectful and yell down the hallways at night as if theres nobody trying to sleep. Singing, shouting, and cursing in other languages.Personal hygiene products I have bought for my wife have been stolen and used on other patients. The lead CNAs sit in the dining room all night and sleep or watch tv, forget about the patients... they are here to get a check and nothing else! I have also encountered some of the nurses being verbally abusive to patients, laughing at patients who are confused, and nurses sleeping at the nurses station. Overall im extremely disappointed with the care my wife has received, and this is supposed to be an Adventist facility? They should be ashamed at how this place is run.

My mom has been in this facility twice for re-hab. All of the staff are still so extremely helpful and pleasant☺. This facility has arts and crafts and other like things to keep the patients happy and healthy. They serve healthy regular meals to the patients. This facility also holds Get togethers at which the staff serves foods, theyre nice get togethers. This facility provides laundry service for the patients and they also bring in a hairdresser for the patients! Florida Living is a Very Nice place, I would Really like to see my mom in here for good, on a regular basis, I cant see how I can afford to put her in here though. I would like to, because: I live in another city and I have been for the last 3 years making regular visits driving from my house to her house (about 45 minutes). My main concern is I am not certified, I am not a registered nurse, I can only keep my mom company but she wont sit down long she cant. Thank you

I was referred to this facility by Florida Hospital, who claimed that it was a physical rehabilitation facility. Its an end of life nursing home. While my physical therapist was excellent, I got to see him for an hour a day. The other 23 were kept trying to not go slowly crazy. They claim to have WiFi for their guests - They dont, and its not a priority. The staff themselves warned me to not leave anything valuable out, or even in drawers. Some of the staff are great, some are not. Thats about like anywhere. My issue was more that the facility was mis-represented as to its purpose and features, and getting paperwork out of them for my FMLA managers is impossible. They will not return calls or faxes, period. When my family left the first night, I suddenly knew the feeling of a lifelong pet left at the pound. If you care for your loved ones, do not let them be treated here if there is any other choice. And if not, work to get them out as soon as possible.

If your intention is to get back at your relative before they die this is the place to do it. the orderlies here are thieves, they stole more than $1000 dollars in clothes in a 5 day period all we got when we left the place was 2 moo moos a pair of house slippers and a bed sheet everything else was stolen everything, we have receipts for a full replacement wardrobe after the first one went missing or misplaced we bought the clothes on saturday and returned tuesday everything was gone. the orderlies are abusive aswell they berate the patients, it doesnt even mater if youre in the room, they called my grandmother a drunk while my mother was in the room.you cannot get this place to return your calls or even do paperwork properly. we had multiple undue collection notices. After providing the supplemental insurance information MORE THAN 5 TIMES they still didnt process it and we kept getting bills and collection notices months later. we couldnt get the doctor, dr bobeck, on the phone after a series of attempts he even stood us up at 2 meetings HE scheduled and we took off work for!it seems like they will say anything to bill your insurance for more money, they claimed grandma couldnt walk, eat, shower, or use the bathroom by herself and needed 24 hr care. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. they even went so far as to strap grandma into a chair saying oh not its not a restraint, restraints are illegal in living facilities its to keep her from walking off and getting lost last i checked the definition of restraint was to keep someone from leaving.yet another delightful experience is when the woman at the front desk told me i need to get outa her face right this minute or its going down still dont understand how i was in her face as there was a desk and wheelchair(about 5 feet) between us and all i had asked was whom the operating director wasOR WHEN i ordered a wheelchair a week prior to picking grandma up from this hell hole so it would be there when she was discharged. took another 21 daysOR WHEN they told us grandma is being discharged and we had 3 days to get her without prior warning.ALL OF THIS HAPPENED IN 2 MONTHS this is only a fraction of the head/heartache this place put my family through. avoid at all costs.
