Horrible customer service from front desk, constant change in staff, inconsistency in staff. They have to do a better job with choosing who they select in front desk, specifically “Deborah”.

100% satisfied with the quality, cleanliness, and curriculum of the daycare. Our son is going into Pre-K in August and he loves everybody he interacts with there. The owners are VERY involved and respond immediately to every concern. We couldnt be happier with the education they are providing to our 4 year old!

Our child has been attending Star Child Academy since he was 8 months old (now 3). We are very happy. If ever an issue , it is fixed immediately. Our little one loves school. The teachers are wonderful. When we walk in or out of the building we are always acknowledged by our first names.

This is a great school! It prepares your child for the schedule and expectations that will be needed as they get older. This is however a school that expects just as much out of the parent as the student. To get the most out of their program you need to be involved in reviewing everything your child is learning. On the off chance that I had a concern the Owner Cindy was quick to resolve any issue.

We have loved this place since day 1. They have a wonderful staff that truly care for the children. This is a great place for children to thrive academically and socially. The facility is excellent and perfectly maintained from the parking lot all the way to the playground. We are so happy to have found a place my kids and I both love.

I have had children in this school for almost 5 years. From the infant room through the private elementary school, every class has been wonderful. The walls are made of glass so you do not have to be concerned about what may be occurring in the classroom behind closed doors. Also, there is a webcam system which allows you to watch your children anytime on an app on your phone. The owners of the school are on the premises all the time and if there are ever any issues, they take care of it immediately. The curriculum is excellent and the children leave this school very advanced when compared to their peers. The before and after care is also great as well as the summer camp. I would highly recommend this school for any age child.

One of the best schools. They provide an excellent education experience, the staff is friendly, the facility is beautiful and kept very clean. You can watch your child on your computer or mobile phone. Overall my son learned more here in a short time then anywhere else. Amazing school. Hard to find another like it.

Our son excelled while he was being cared for at Star child academy. We are so thankful for the time that he was there and wish we couldve kept him there longer. He loved his teachers and misses the friends he made. He loved going to school early for breakfast. And he always came home talking about his teachers and all of the fun things he learned from them. We were impressed by the academics and how much our son retained while being there. We hope to keep the same education level going at home. Thank you to Star Child and the staff. -The Manning Family.

We started both our children at Star Child Academy at a very early age and it was the best decision we made based on our research of choices. Peter, Cindy and all the staff and teachers at Star Child genuinely care about the children, their progress, and their growth - both in and out of the classroom. The learning environment at Star Child gives a child a solid foundation in which to grow at a pace that is beyond expectations. We have been extremely pleased with our choice to send our children to Star Child Academy.

Our toddler daughter has been attending Star Child for about 7 months now and we couldnt be happier. Coming from a smaller school, I was initially concerned that Star Child would be overwhelming to her; however, its been the complete opposite. Our daughter is blossoming! The staff and teachers are wonderful! The best part for us, outside of the curriculum she is being taught, is the cleanliness of the facility. Infants and toddlers get sick often, especially when building their immune systems. At our previous child car provider, our daughter was sick often. She spent more time at home than in school some months. Since starting Star Child she has rarely been sick and I contribute that to their dedication to making sure the school is cleaned and sanitized throughout each and every day.

My grand daughter goes to start child 2 months now and got hurt 3 times in one week. I think the teacher to child ratio is not adequate in the toddlers class and the owner did not help the situation with her respond which I think was insensitive when she hold my daughter my grandchild was docile thats why she get hurt. So my question is are we promoting hostility?

Our child spent several years attending StarChilds daycare, elementary school and after-school program. We never had any intention of sending our child to private school, but after going through their pre-K program we stayed with it. We are so glad we did - it was a great educational foundation. The teachers challenge the kids but also are very loving and have great relationships with them. The kids often stay with the same teachers year after year, so they form a strong bond. The academic material is challenging but the students have a lot of fun because the teachers come up with such unique ways to engage them. Last year the Latin class read a juvenile version of The Odyssey - a beautifully illustrated and written book just perfect for that age group - and then the kids were tasked with writing and performing skits based on scenes in the story. The third-graders put together the class yearbook, and the students all get to design their own pages about themselves.Competitions are strongly emphasized, and the children get a chance to compete in the Orange County math competition, the Science Olympiad, state Garden Club activities and the Tropicana 4-H speaking contest. On a more day to day level, the students are encouraged to use their imagination through their writing assignments, The classes are small and the children who go through the program year after year make longtime friendships that remain even after they attend other schools. The schools founder, Miss Cindy, is incredibly dedicated. In all the time I dropped off and picked up my child, there was never a day Cindy was not there at the front desk, greeting each of the hundreds of kids and their parents by name. Our time at StarChild was generally worry-free, but when there was something I was unhappy with - I can really only think of one time something was serious enough to discuss with her - she was very sympathetic and listened to my concerns. I always felt my child was in good hands at StarChild.

Wow... hard to believe, but our kids are now leaving StarChild after eight years. (I guess I should have left a review sooner!) As you might imagine given the long timeframe, weve had a wonderful experience at StarChild. Weve been impressed from day one with the quality of the facility, the staff, and the professional way that things are managed. Cindy, Peter, Shelby and the rest of the staff have VERY high standards, and it shows!I did see one of the other reviews that characterized StarChild as cold and unfriendly, but take it from someone who has been there for many years, this is not the case. They are VERY focused on keeping the facility immaculate thats for sure (is that a bad thing?)... So maybe it doesnt come across as comfortable... not sure. Also, no question, StarChild is very focused on the childrens academics. So if you are looking for more of a typical daycare with emphasis on lots of play time and little focus on academics, this is not the place for you. For us, we felt like there was a proper balance. Our kids developed socially and made lots of friends, but also gained a very solid academic foundation which is really paying off today.Five well deserved stars in my opinion. Thanks for being a huge part of our kiddos early development!

This school is great! Very strict but for a good reason- they care about education! Ive had my daughter here since Pre-K (3 years old) and I love it. I never have to worry- Teachers are good and the amount that my daughter has learned is amazing. When thinking about placing your child in this school you have to be very mindful that you (the parent) will have to be VERY hands on since they do assign homework Mon-Thurs. As long as your a hands on parent your child will be very successful at this school. Ms. Shelby is great at the service desk and Mrs. Larissa and Mrs. Melissa in Kindergarten are great with my daughter- they show genuine care towards my daughter and that is always appreciated.

After such a horrid experience at the last day care and making the switch, my son has had nothing but a positive experience. As a parent safety, and protection is always important and thats exactly what you get here.Along with the kind staff, and loving teachers, beautiful building, I would rate the school more than 5 stars. The set up is absolutely amazing, the teachers are attentive, if there is any issues its handled immediately, youre acknowledged..EVERYTIME.Most of all my son at age 2 loves going and has adapted so well in the little time of being there.Hell take his backpack off, grab his teachers hand and wave me off so he can start his PRODUCTIVE day. When I pick him up, there is always an assessment sheet so youre always in the loop.Im blessed to have found this school in my area.HIGHLY RECCOMNEDED especially for parent who are skeptical of Day cares.

If the treatment I received from the Curriculum Director of this school is any indication of how people are valued, I would have to give them a -5. I was invited in for an interview for an instructional position; however, 30 minutes into the interview, she infomed me that she had already hired someone for this position. The interview continued for another 30 minutes during which I was asked if I would be interested in subbing and teaching the after school program from 3 - 7. The director was supposed to get back with me, never did, and hasnt the common decency to return my two calls. Highly inconsiderate, disrespectful and unprofessional.

My 3 kids have gone to Starchild from a couple months old to pre-k and I can honestly say that Starchild is an outstanding school . Academically they are more advanced than any other school in the area . The owners are always there and greet every kid by name when they come in . They make you feel like you are part of their family . I just wish they taught Spanish . But their sign language teacher is great.

Great school for my child. Been here for a year and looking forward to enroll our second child. very strict and organized place. Most of my friends have their kids in the same school and they are all happy. will definitely be a student till the 6th grade. For those that rated 1 or 2 star with a stupid reason I am sorry for you that you did not qualify for this school and blamed on the staff or other subjects to write a bad review. this is the best place i have found in Florida compare to rest of the unsanitary and filthy daycare in entire state. Cindy and Peter you guys do a great job there. The school is growing in student count each year and that tell alot about your facility.

I wrestled with this for so long before bringing myself to write this review. My child absolutely hated Starchild Wekeiva and started to develop behavioral issues immediately after starting. That’s when we began watching the cameras. The teachers had zero control of the class and the kids were going bonkers! They actually let my child walk out of the class twice! They made us as the parents feel awful and until we began watching the cameras several times each day while at work. We recorded an entire 20 minutes of completely poor classroom management one day and I made the immediate decision to withdraw. Our poor kid was running away from the situation! Had anything happened to our child, we would have held them completely responsible. They not only placed blame on our child, but the other kids too, claiming that some of them came from “troubled homes” or had “developmental issues” - everyone had a problem except for ones we were actually paying to watch our child. As parents, we felt aweful. The calls during the day while working when the teacher couldn’t control the class was beyond annoying. We were distraught with conferences until we finally began listening to our child and understanding what was happening. Administration sat perched up at the front desk and in their offices and rerouted requests for conferences to the curriculum director. The owners never once addressed me despite asking for a conference. During conferences the CD and teachers would talk to me about other people’s kids and their supposed “issues” which I though was completely innaproporate. This facility is extremely pretentious. Their philosophy on early learning includes drowning kids in rigor, repetition, and all day work, which is completely unnecessary and we found no edge over other peer facilities with different philosophies. I found it hard on our child who was already an advanced learner and so much stress on the teachers. I met a previous teacher from that facility, and learned that our experience was not unique. Within days of the withdrawal we saw immediately improvement . I now had a happy smart kid that couldnt wait to get to school and there was mutual love and respect between teacher, child and parents. No more calls at work and we picked up a happy child everyday. We often drive by this facility, and my heart is saddened that we put our poor kid through that. One of the worst parenting experiences we’ve ever had. I could NEVER recommend this facility, or it’s leadership. Parents, listen to the teacher’s concerns but also talk to your kids, try to understand what is happening in their day. There may be an underlying reason for how they respond to stress. Please don’t ignore it!

Our Kids Need this school...Administration staff all the way down is superior to all other schools. They are serious about teaching kids and do a great job doing it. Both my girls are well developed socially and my 7 year old was confident when heading into her new school...Ive always been of the opinion that kids need to be taught that when they are school, its time to study and work, they do a great job of it. My wife and I are responsible for fun time...I also disagree with this notion that the building is cold and a prison atmosphere, whomever wrote that is being overly casuistry in their opinion. They provide plenty of smart ways to protect themselves and the kids against abuse and common misunderstandings about child care. Furthermore, the owners are always on the front door and they know everyones name...if you dont belong there you are not coming in. The layout of the building is safe and clean...I am not sure what else you would want in child care.Lastly, though I wouldnt go as far as saying they are perfect in all regards; its apparent that Starchild stands heads and shoulders above all other child care businesss in this area. We are very lucky that this school is available to us based on the public schooling system in Central Florida and the mostly pathetic attempt at child care education in general.

I thought this place was great at first. Then my child started to want to be more independent and there was no room for it; they are very strict and sometimes rigid and repetitive (and not in the fun way). It began to become humdrum to my child. The head teach in her classroom was amazing, but her assitants were changed twice in 6 months and the last one hired allegedly put her hands on my daughter to the point that my DD had nail marks on both arms. Her injuries were sustained while in their care, but they were apathetic to our concerns... By they I mean the directors and owners. I had to call DCF and have them come to investigate because the director of the school didnt even bother atempting to address it with me.My disappointment is with the management, not the staff or their teachers, with the exception of the woman who my DD names every single day as the one who did it as she shows me her arms. BEWARE. The place is void of emotion. And here I thought I was placing my DD in a safe environment with cameras and all... By the way, the camera feed does not stay for too long either so if there is ever an incident, be sure to ask to see the feed ASAP

The tone of this facility lacks any warmth or friendliness. This facility is not welcoming. Looks sterile and like a glass prison instead of a place where children enjoy themselves. The head woman ready to quickly provide extremely unfriendly looks along with extreme hostile tones in her voice. With this woman any questions you might have, as a parent leaving your child in their care, are not welcome. You can hear, see and feel the fear with their staff. I sadly left my child in their care for about a week, while finding a new facility for him.I would recommend taking a look at Primrose School of Longwood and compare this facility with Starchild Wekiva. You will absolutely see/feel the difference! They care alot about their children and encourage the children in many areas of learning. There are plenty of activities and a variety of fun for the children; day camp, splash pad, children are taught to play musical instruments, building structures, within an extremely warm, high quality, clean welcoming atmosphere! My 4 year old and I loved Primrose School. Management and teachers are just wonderful, caring people! They provide care and attention to each child individually.
