Dr. Chiu is an excellent doctor. During a routine exam, he spotted a small, innocent looking mole on my arm, that he immediately knew was a problem. He sent it to UCSF for biospy. It came back as early stage melanoma. Dr. Chiu removed it all with a safe margin. Thank God and Dr. Chiu! Melanoma can be very serious if not caught early. He is professional, highly intelligent, and friendly. I feel very confident to be in his care.

I would not recommend this doctor. Dr. Chiu Is a very unfriendly person with no tact or personality. He is argumentative, opinionated, and confrontational, even in front of his staff and other patients. He displays no good bedside manner, and is a bully at best. He may be good at what he does, but this is overshadowed by his dealing with his patients. He offers no good follow up answers, wants to get rid of you as fast as he can, and provides no reasonable explanation to questions. He should have no practice where he has to deal with the public. A professional should never resort to calling his patients names.

I have given Dr. Chiu 4 stars for his efficient, highly-skilled treatment and technique (he is really good). However, his aim at efficiency can make him seem abrupt, with concise explanations (fine with me, perhaps too brief and rushed-seeming for others). He also pushes his nurses and assistants to be extremely time-efficient, and has had staff turnover - perhaps pushing too hard? I suspect that other reviewers have suffered the effects of turnover, and have rated him low due to his manner. I have found him to be responsive to questions and concerns but he wastes no time and makes it clear that he is in business.

I DON’T recommend this place what so ever!!!! When i came Dr. Chui was so rude to me as a patient you expect to come in and feel welcome and well cared for and he made me feel horrible about my acne! He was even rude to his staff, there was a nice girl working there assisting Dr. Chui and he was training her and he would call her out so rudely i felt for that girl he is EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!! Please dont ever come here!

This was the worst doctor/patient experience Ive ever had in my entire life. Not only is this man verbally abusive he wont allow his patients to even ask questions. He has a bizarre narcissistic attitude and prone to violent outbursts. Stay far away from this doctor. I hope hes investigated after I reported him to the Medical Board today. It doesnt matter how good you are at your job if youre a vile human being.

Dr. Chui is so very knowledgeable. It may seem to some hes fast but hes not been wrong in diagnosis & treatmemt. Super great surgeon. If your looking for anything more than a smart Doctor and great surgeon then he may not be for you. He removed 2 melanoma from near my eye. He gets you well. He saves lives.

Only gave 1 star because it does not have a 0 star. Not a friendly Dr.. if you want a Dr. That does not listen and is rude to his staff and patients alike. Specially not a family doctor.

I found Dr. Chiu and his staff very professional. Dr. Chiu works quickly and explains his diagnosis quickly as well. I’m very pleased with his in office surgeries. I highly recommended Dr. Chiu!

I felt that he was racist and offensive to my sister as he talked down to her, in broken english while imitating a Spanish accent, just because she doesnt speak English. He also gave me an exaggerated smile when he noticed how disturbed I was with his treatment of my sister. I would not recommend this place.

I wish we can have a no star rating.The first time I called this clinic I was impressed how helpful and friendly the the receptionist was. They booked us for an appointment the same day. I was told that I have to pay up front since its our first visit and they cannot really proved that we have an insurance with a HRA account. That turned me off a little bit because they are the very first clinic that let us pay up front for the first visit. I paid with no hesitation since I have insurance. I was told that they will still bill our insurance and send me a refund once the insurance pay. I received an Explanation of Benefits from our insurance indicating that the claim was paid to this clinic on 2/18/2016. I waited to give them enough time to send me my refund. I called March 21, 2016 that is more than a month. Gave them all the information and I was told by a Crystal that the insurance never paid them. I called our insurance and they insisted that they did pay this clinic. I was advised to have the provider/clinic call insurance since they cannot give the payment detail. I called the clinic back and told them what they need to do. This Crystal said she will give the information to their billing and somebody will call me back, did they call NO. I called the next day and again Crystal told me the insurance did not send the payment. Again she said they will return my call, again they did not call back. I called again and Crystal put me on hold for about 10 minutes and she heard my piece. I told her how frustrated I am and how dissatisfied I am with their service after they were paid twice by me and the insurance. Since I was really upset, when she came back on the phone she said we will send you a refund. I asked so then you were paid right and she said yes. Their billing department got confused Crystal said because the insurance paid them more than what I paid. If I did not call no one will care if I get my money back and besides if the insurance paid you more than what was owing being in the medical field would you not call the insurance and clarify why? Its very sad that doctors are not as caring as they should be, they are there now just for the MONEY. Waiting for the doctor to see you is about hour and a half. And when this doctor enter the room he is in a rush and will spend about 10 minutes with you and then write you prescription. They will have you sign an agreement that you need to return after three months.

Dr. Noel Chiu is very unprofessional. After registration and paying copay I was waiting in exam room for 30 minutes to see doctor when his assistance came and asked to pay more for out pocket copay which I paid. After more 15 minutes waiting his assistant came in again and said that Dr. Chiu can NOT see you because Dr. Chiu does not accept your insurance. I asked assistant why not it was mentioned at the time of making appointment or at least when I registered today about 45 minutes ago. She had NO answer and I left office without seeing Dr. Chiu. I suggest to ALL should stay away from this doctor.

My mom had the worst experience ever, wish I was there with her when this incident happened. My mom took my brother to get his blood drawn in the morning in order to get his monthly accutane prescription from dr Chiu. That same day my brother went in for his check up and apparently my brother had to get his blood drawn 2 days prior to appointment, one of the girls that worked there went in to tell the dr about the blood, he got pissed and threw his papers on to the table and left. The girl came back to tell us that he wasn’t going to attend us and to look for another dermatologist. RUDE !!!!!! I highly DO NOT recommend this Doctor !! Btw , he literally just takes 10 minutes and is always in a rush !!! He walks in the room, looks at you for a couple seconds, writes the prescription and you’re outta there. And I’ve noticed that there’s always different receptionists and workers there every time I accompany my brother or Mom or sister because they all go to his office, probably can’t handle the drs disgusting impatient behavior. -000000 stars would be a better option

I am a county employee who has contra costa health plan which I pay high costs for and was treated like a non working citizen by the staff here at Diablo Dermatology. They dont provide a clear diagnosis, or treatment plan. They dont do well with answering questions or being challenged in anyway. I came into their office because I was concerned about my treatment regiment and instead of them listening to my concerns and being apologetic, they argued with me and fired me as their patient. They are very unethical, unpleasant, and very unprofessional. I contacted my insurance plan to inform them of the incident so that this horrible facility can no longer receive referrals from CCHP. What this place does not know....is that it isnt only NON WORKING PEOPLE WHO CARRY CCHP, IT IS ALSO THOSE HARD WORKING COUNTY EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ALSO CCHP CARRIERS AS EMPLOYEES. If you dont care about equal treatment then go ahead and be seen at this horrible place.
