I normally don’t write reviews but I contacted the shop and was told to send a picture of the braids that I wanted along with a picture of my natural hair and I did what was instructed of me. My original stylist cancelled at the last minute so I was hoping to book with this shop since it was recommended to me. I had plans on posting photos on my social media pages to my over 100k followers to share my experience however I did not receive a text and or call back which to me is extremely unprofessional. If she couldn’t do it then at least let the customer know but upon reading the other reviews that other people have left about the “no response” problem that they were having I can understand why they gave the rating that they gave. I’m sure the stylist is very talented and skilled but unfortunately due to the poor communication which is totally unacceptable I giving the rating that I feel best suits my experience. Communication is key.

I went in for an appointment in June at 6am she was 30 minutes late said she was in a car crash. Ok understandable. I made a appointment for my daughter 3 weeks ago today at 6am my boyfriend took her waited until 7:05am she didn’t show up after confirming our appointment the day before. She texts around 7:45 and asks if we still want to come in her alarm didn’t go off. I have other plans for the day hence the reason I booked at 6 I said no refund deposit. She did within minutes then I thought about it maybe she could do box braids something that took less time. Asked her under 3 minutes after she said she couldn’t inconvenience her other clients 😂by the looks of her reviews she does this often. thank you for leaving my daughter without her hair done for her first day at a new school because “your alarm didn’t go off”Update after responseA non refundable deposit would if I no showed you. So your “alarm not going off” is on you and shows how unprofessional you are. Why would someone want a different style when you are the one who didn’t show up for work lol never in my life has my alarm just not gone off. Your phone was going straight to voicemail so your phone was just off. I don’t think any client would be happy sitting from 6am to 7am waiting for an appointment you didn’t show up for. I read your reviews here and on Facebook and if I would of done so before I would of know this is just how you operate.

Amela gave me the dream hair I have been trying to achieve for years. She is very gentle, which is great because I am a bit tender-headed. She was realistic about the design I wanted and made sure it was something that I would be happy with. She is a great conversationalist and really takes her time to make sure to understand what you want so she can deliver the ultimate customer satisfaction. I cant wait to go back and see her again.

I really hate to post this, but I feel it’s important to do so when dealing with a business. Good or bad!I found this shop by Googling a braid shop in Antioch. This was the first shop that came up and I called. I booked an appointment and was told to Cashapp $25 to hold the appointment. I did it right away. Unfortunately, the evening before my appointment I received a call from my doctor telling me I needed to come in. I text the owner of the shop to let her know that I could not make it for the scheduled time the next day and asked If I could reschedule. She was very accommodating and rescheduled my appointment for later in the day.The next day came, which was also my Birthday 10/10 and although I wanted my hair done to feel pretty, my health was preventing me from doing so. So, reluctantly, I text her again the day of and explained my situation. My health was no better. In my text, I even asked if it would be okay for my daughter to come in and get the two braids in my place?! This time, I received no response! In a previous review above, the owner said she charges $25 so people won’t skip out on their appointment. I understand that and I understand business.However, I communicated my unfortunate situation prior to both appointments (although the second reschedule was short notice) and even asked if my daughter could take my place. No response! I took it as “F you, I’m keeping this $25! That’s bad business!A simple response back with her policy letting me know she couldn’t or wouldn’t service me because of the rescheduled appointments, I may have understood. But the non response, is unprofessional as hell! Glad I know now before conducting any further business with not only my hair care needs, but the hair care needs of my three children as well!Oh well! The search for a beautician continues!****Update to owners response!!****I wasn’t a simple no show!! I text ahead of time both times and got no response the second time!! While I understand you have policies in place, like all businesses, it would be nice if you posted those policies on your website, social media sites or reiterated them to me after the first cancellation! Just like your time and money is important to you as a business owner, mine is important to me as a consumer! I don’t just go around giving $25 to people for nothing! How was I supposed to know your policy if it’s not written or shared?!Proper customer service would be to communicate with your customers! If you’ve been in business for 20 years, you’d think you’d already know this! It’s that simple!

Amela is truly amazing and professional. It is therefore I enthusiastically recommend without reservation her to other people looking for an awesome cosmetologist. She is a wonderful conversationalist. I cannot speak enough of Amelas commitment and dedication to her craft. Her skills are best exemplified through the smiles on her clients after theyre finished. I found her on Google and she does not disappoint. I had a lot of undergrowth to begin with, but she patiently and meticulously worked her magic and the results were exquisite. Her gifted hands are worth it. I am extremely confident in her strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, excellence in cosmetology, and passion for helping others. I am sure future clients will only find happiness and shine further through an appointment with her.

She did an amazing job on my little sister and was really nice! She was super gentle on my 3 year old sister that she stayed still the whole time and usually she cries . I will definitely be coming back love her work !

First & Last Time she is very unprofessional Appt. was at 11:00 was told she was running behind but not how long. Dropped my daughter off at 11:40 A.M she didnt finish her hair until 8:50 PM. (French Braids not singles) Stopped doing my Daughters hair and started and finished another person although my daughter had been there since 11:40. While I sat in the car she told me she would be done in 20 minutes waited another 2 hours before she was done. Then she changed the price she quoted me. Day wasted and lesson learned.
