My mother was transferred to Nolan for physical therapy after an extended stay at RMC do to complications after surgery. When she arrived at Nolan I noticed she was lethargic. I asked the nurse if my mother was being sedated. She said no. Well after about 5 days of a down hill slide to where her speach was completely slurred and nobody there seemed concerned I intervened and had her sent to the emergency room a Stringfellow Memorial. Turns out she has a severe infection that has spread to her bloodstream and she was dehydrated. Thats what happens when you ignore someone who is fading out right in front of you.

My mom was placed here for long term care. She has a wound that requires bandages to be changed twice daily. When we would ask the nurses about the bandages being changed they would say it had been changed or it was fine. After we felt she wasn’t receiving the care she needed we had her transferred back to a Birmingham hospital where they had to immediately change the dressing and scrub the wound because it had not been changed in days!!! This place is a disgrace to be called a hospital and especially to claim they specialize in wound care!! Also you never see a doctor and nurses claim to know they never know when a doctor will be by. I called to voice my complaint and when I talked to someone they placed me on hold and never came back to talk to me. Do not recommend this place!!

I have worked with Noland for 4 years now at 2 different locations and I am thankful that there is a place that patients can come for the continued Medical treatment that LTACH can provide for patients. Noland has the one of best Benefit packages that is very affordable and offers competive pay. I have seen great outcomes from ventilator patients being weaned and being able to move on to Rehab before returning back home. Noland has helped so many patients that were not able to cover their IV antibiotics financially in the home setting with Home health. Noland has wonderful outcome with wound management and has a certified wound nurse on staff. The physicians are very attentive and skilled to manage the most complex patients. The nursing staff receives continued training are are ACLS certified.

It was a very horrible experience... you would think if ppl decided to be in the medical filed they would have a heart to care for others.. I just pray that they would care for thier on family members.. this place isnt fit for a dog... Nasty, un organized, lack of communication, never read up on the charts for the patient and the doctors just assume when they come in the door that because your physical appearance looks good then the patient is o.k.. Jesus please take the wheel at Nolands.. I think this is a place where they put you just die... Praying
