Dr Shan Young became my 1st doctor in 2004 when I moved from TN, he went above the call of duty. I love, love, love Dr. Young. Ive been seeing him for over 22 years, and he delivered both of my sons. I moved to Atlanta four years ago, but I still make the drive for him.I remember just after giving birth, he personally offered to get me a soft drink from the drink machine. I could hardly believe a doctor would take the time to do that for a patient. He is always calm and reassuring and takes the time to answer any questions you have. He actually wont leave the room until hes absolutely certain you have no more questions. Sometimes Im embarassed to ask certain things, but he never looks shocked or acts like my questions are silly. His office staff is super professional and his office is gorgeous; rustic and decorated with antiques. If youre looking for excellence, you just found it. I will literally cry if he ever retires.

I haven’t had a check up in years. Let’s start at the checkin counter, staff is Very friendly! The waiting room is big and chairs are super comfy. Then the intake person is very sweet and her office is adorable. All the rooms have a very homey feel. Dr. Young takes his time to go over any questions or concerns I had and had always been wonderful. Then the checkout person is friendly and works with you amazingly to find the best opportunity to schedule any follow ups. Overall awesome experience as always when dealing with his staff and office visits.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Young! He is one of the two BEST doctors that I have ever had! He goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable with him, he is very kind and very thorough! I have endometriosis and adenomyosis, and he is the one who discovered it. He has done one surgery on it when he found it, and is about to do another! He cares tremendously about his patients and their well-being. When I tell him Im having pain of any kind, he immediately takes the correct measures to seek the issue! I made the mistake of changing doctors, because the other doctor was closer. Needless to say, after one visit, I changed right back to Dr. Young! The other doctor didnt seem to care in the slightest way, regarding my pain. Dr. Young is amazing, and I will never switch again!

Was one of the most thorough clinicians Ive ever seen, and I am currently seeing several top specialists at UAB. My own primary care physician told me personally that he was impressed by the amount of information that Dr. Young requested from his office. The office staff was very easy to make appointments and they gave directions that were easy to follow.
