I brought my daughter in due to a small toy being lodged in her ear. After waiting for over 4 hours, we were told they didnt have tools small enough to remove it. They didnt hesitate to send me a bill for over $200 though!Furthermore, I sat and watch how patients were treated and its just awful. They kept patients waiting in the waiting room for hours when exam rooms are clearly available. The demeanor of the nurses and administrators is cold and unwelcoming. This is NOT how healthcare should be. Extremely disappointed in this facility!!

I have been a nurse for the last 35 years and during my admission at the facility I did not tell many what I did for a living not knowing if all of them knew or not it did not matter because you could see the genuine caring spirit of the staff their professionalism surpasses any I have seen in a long time in a medical facility. Thanks to all the staff that varied for me during my stay. My name is not Laura that’s my granddaughter my name is Sandra. I just can’t even put my finger on one person that was not a blessing to me. Even the Environment Service worker was encouraging to me. Again thank you for your service.

My family has been going to Stringfellow Hospital for over 20 years. We have almost always had great experiences there. The few times that one of us had a problem, we reported to the supervisor. The problem was resolved. It was handled without trashing them on social media. I recommend this hospital highly.

We arrived around 12pm and were treated with hostility from the intake nurse. She acted like I was inconveniencing her and just wasting her time.I was told we would have to wait in the car, while its almost 90 degrees out; with no shade to be found, for nearly 3 hours. Were lucky we didnt run out of gas or have a heat stroke. We finally received call from Triage and were treated with hostility yet again. We were told they cant guarantee that youll get COVID-19 test with the worst sass a woman could muster. We get called into the building around 3 and get treated with hostility from R.N. JANE L ROSZELLYou dont go to the ER for a stuffy noseAfter getting swabbed for all the things, I made that hateful woman EAT HER WORDS when my CoVid test came back positive. I have never felt so unwelcome in a hospital before in my life. For a hospital that prides itself on compassion, I didnt find much during my visit. The only people who were not hateful or hostile were the NP Sherry K Williams and the maintenance man who had to fix the door.Hospital administration needs to do better in ensuring that the staff treats ALL patients with respect and compassion, instead of being so hateful and treating your patients with disdain.I would rather drive all the to Birmingham than go to StringFellow ever again. Absolutely unacceptable.

Worst hospital and very unprofessional! Upon arrival, the older lady in the front talked to me as if Im hard of hearing and incapable of comprehending what she was telling me. We were the only black people at the time, and her mannerism towards my son and I was completely different than the Caucasian man that came in behind me. Once in the back, the male nurse took my son BP and, due to my son being sleepy, he didnt get an adequate reading. He also refused to recheck it. Another nurse, Im not sure of her title, had an attitude and told me after a 2 hr wait that its an ER, that happens. I explained to her that Im not slow and her attitude was unecessary. She was short with her responses and didnt have my sons best interest at heart. The doctor came in as soon as he saw me come out looking for someone. The doctor didnt wash his hands and barely looked at my son. He may have been in there a total of 3 min. Mind you, they werent busy at all. Worst ER my son and I have EVER experienced. WILL NOT RECOMMEND!

There is absolutely no communication in this place. My mother did her pre op covid-19 test and she asked if she could have someone come in with her. They said yes she could have one visitor. Then they told her that the cafeteria would be open and the visitor would be able to get something to eat there. Well today my wife is in there as the visitor and they told her that no visitors are able to walk in the hallways or go to the cafeteria. I understand we are in a pandemic but come on. The employees here have to go to buy groceries and whatever else they do. They can mask up and go on in to work. Why can we not do the same? My wife volunteered to be in there and now she cant even get lunch. Im very dissatisfied. Makes me wonder how they communicate with one another about patient care.

I was seen in March had test run. I received a bill and was paying the bill. Two months paying and I receive a call that said the payment I was making wasn’t good enough. The person I talked to told me to fill out paperwork to get help with the bill so I did. I faxed it in once and mailed it in once. Of which they said they never received it either time. One man told me not to make anymore payments because I would not get the money back. They never contacted me again. I tried several times to contact them to get “I will call you back.” The bill has now been turned over to a collection agency. I will never use this hospital again for services.

The doctors truly care about you. They are very knowledgable in their field. Nursing staff work well with patients and each other, their heart for you is apparent in the concern and care they show. House keeping Is very efficient and cheerful. Then the Kitchen staff are great, and the meals that they prepare are very tasteful and healthy, the weekend food in particular was better than a top of the line family restaurant. All in all theyre a cut above the average hospital in every way.

He didnt even touch my son or treat him, although I have received a bill of $669 for services he didnt provide. I have nothing but bad things to say about our experience with him.

Was seen here 3 different times. I had one good experience and two horrible experiences. The first time we came late at night and we were one of the o my ones here. They brought me back to a room and no one came in for over 2 hours. We even tried paging the nurse and was continually ignored. The second time was good, but we just left the hospital tonight and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had at the hospital. The doctor was extremely rude, didnt pay attention to anything I said so I had to continually repeat myself. The staff and nurses were rude as well. I cannot believe how horribly I was treated. Took my son to the ER for a VERY CLEAR allergic reaction that caused hives all over his body. The front desk people were wonderful and very nice and I was encouraged by that. We got taken back immediately, but waited a long time for the doctor. Dr. Kevin Sells rushed in, barely looked at him two minutes and said it was due to bronchitis. What? He had just told me that his breathing was fine. He barely acknowledged my questions and rushed in and out, while Im still concerned about anaphylaxis. He said he would give him something for a cough, but after I left I realized he gave him steroids and an antibiotic only. I called back and a very rude nurse told me that well hes gone, you can just give him OTC Robitussin. Wow. Very unprofessional on the part of the medical professionals and not a good bedside manner. If you are a doctor or nurse, take time (10 minutes at least!) to hear what your patient is saying, and be THOROUGH.

He ask the Dr. to give him something for his throat, but never got anything. My dog gets better treatment than that! This place needs to be shut down! Then he a few days later had to go for a test back to Stringfellow Hospital, the machine was broke. So instead of calling us not to come in because we live 40 from the Hospital this guy told us when we got there!!!! He said the machine has been broke since Friday duhhhhh! Worsed place ever!!!!

I was a patient at Stringfellow for several months. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I had some of the best care from the nurses. The Dietician visited me regularly to see I was eating and my needs were being met. Dr. Black and Dr. Liu monitored me daily. The woundcare nurse, Tammy, was caring and helpful during weekly treatments. The x-Ray technicians were prompt and helped me without causing discomfort. All of the LPN’s and nurses were extremely kind and came to my room when needed. I received the best physical therapy while in this hospital. The housekeeping services cleaned my room daily. I can’t say enough positive things about this hospital, my doctors and the staff! I received excellent care while in Stringfellow Hospital.

Quality of care is directly related to amount of insurance. coverage. My fiancee was on Alabama Medicaid They discharged her on Thursday, July 19th, 2018 after the 2nd 9 day stay. They told her You have to be discharged because Insurance is no longer paying Oh by the way, you do have cancer. We just dont know what kind. It took me 45 minutes to get her in the house. The next morning I had to have her taken by Ambulance to Carrollton. She passed yesterday. They never treated her for anything but pneumonia which she never had.

When Dr Pierson came in he barely looked at me, diagnosed me with a migraine, never mentioned my blood pressure & sent me home. Well needless to say, I am still feeling horrible the rx he gave me didnt work because I went to my regular Dr & my bp was so high I was in real trouble.
