I wish I could give them 0 stars. I have been a patient of this office for a few years TOO LONG thinking the staff would improve over time - NOT THE CASE. I can never get anyone to answer the phone. When someone finally does my URGENT messages are not given to the doctor or office manager. No one returns my phone calls. They do not respond to requests for prescription refills. They will not send my blood work order forms to me and without the blood work info they will not let you keep your appointment - I thought I would at least be able to let the physician know about what was going on, but I have no way of getting in touch with her. I have not seen my primary doctor in YEARS and they cannot tell me why. I have so much more to say .. please STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. I am STILL trying to get in touch with someone there so that I can get my medical records (which I have to pay for) so that I can go to another doctor.

I have been coming here for several years and never had a problem with front staff or providers. I find them efficient and polite. The only reason I am giving it for stars is that the providers change more often than I would like. Just had my bi-annual check up. Everything went smooth as always. Had a new provider, Mrs. Grasing. She was wonderful. She answered all my questions and concerns. I will continue my care here and recommend others to check them out.

Worst staff and docs EVER!!! RUN and do not waist your time or health. Horrible!!!! Consider another practice this one is awful. Docs are impersonal & front staff is obnoxious, condecending and so unprofessional. I think I lost five years of my life today trying to have someone call in a simple prescription for my Humolog. Thank God for the on call doctor, she was the only one who finally helped me. I will never go back!

If there were a no star rating, I would leave it. I was referred to this office by my Primary who I have the utmost respect for. She said the main partner who ran this was excellent. My son was brought in, as a somewhat emergent situation with an unexpected Diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes. He was seen, sent the the ER and then followed up with two days later. I found the the founding partner who treated him to be rude, arrogant and argumentative. We had a 20 minute conversation in the hallway prior to her seeing my son where had my husband not stepped in it probably would have come to blows. She clearly rejects parental information about the psychology of the patient and directly told me (though she had never met my son prior to this point) that she was the expert in this situation and knew how to handle it. No respect for patient/parent input at this time...completely insensitive to patient feelings and downright combative. We left that office and never looked back. I would NEVER EVER recommend the practice to anyone. If the head of the practice runs her business this way, its no wonder all the good compassionate doctors there end up leaving.

Dont pass on this great doctors office because some gave them terrible ratings. I have gone here for 2 years now and I do not understand how they have such terrible reviews. I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be taken back and I have never waited more than 5 minutes for the doctor once in the room. The doctors are very thorough and make sure you understand everything that is going on and will explain if needed. I have called to get appointments and always had someone answer right away and was able to get an appointment in a reasonable time.

I wish I could rate the office staff and the medical staff separately. If I could the office staff would get 0 stars. One, they are so unorganized. There is a lot of calling back and forth because they dont know what they are doing, and they also make quite a bit of mistakes. Ive had to iron out a few of their blunders, which is irritating. Fortunately, after you get through the initial first appointment, you really dont have to deal with them much. The doctors are top notch, I would definitely rate them with 5 stars. They are up front with you about everything. They explain everything in detail, show you your blood test results and go through everything line by line. Whenever they are doing a procedure, they tell you what they are doing or looking at every step of the way. They listen to your concerns, and they will put fears to rest. Compassionate, understanding, and competent.

I was very scared to go here after reading all of these reviews, but they were able to get me in the soonest out of all of the endocrinologists in the area. I was completely surprised by how wrong they were! I was greeted by two nice ladies who both went out of their way to check me in. I sat in the waiting room for all of 5 minutes before my name was called to come back. Each and every person that I encountered was very nice and professional. The nurse practitioner saw me first, took a lengthy history, and gave me her opinion. Then, the doctor came in and went over my history again. Both of them spent a long time with me. The doctor really went above and beyond with my appointment. She was extremely caring and compassionate.

Both times that I have been there I have had to wait over 40 minutes. But that has not been the worst. I should say that the doctors seem competent and knowledgeable, but the office staff is terrible. They delayed sending the order for the pathology slides to be sent to the surgeon for over a week. The person that took the data to do the request did not follow my instructions and would not accept corrections as I saw her doing it all wrong (mispellings, mixed up words, untidy text, etc). For example, one of the words was Medicine and she wrote Medicaid. She became irritated with the corrections and just pressed send before it could be reviewed. No wonder it went nowhere for week. Then, it took me seven times in the phone to try to figure out what was the problem, only to be sent every time (but the last) to an answering machine or being disconnected and left with a dial tone. In the meantime, I have lost a precious week to schedule my appointment with the surgeon. Will not come back.

The practice is wonderful. The doctors are all top notch. I only have had one issue in five years as a patient with an employee named Jasmine when I tried to cancel and reschedule an appointment. Thus the 3 star rating. Jasmine seemed either still asleep, preoccupied or in need of customer service training or phone etiquette skills. My request to cancel and reschedule my appointment could have been handled efficiently had Jasmine provided me with appointment availability to include full date and times instead of me having to play the guessing game. Communicating with her was frustrating and could potentially cause other patients or potential patients to go elsewhere.

I would appreciated her apologizing on behalf of their office and saying it would not happen again. I will be looking for a new endocrinologist and I will also make sure to get the blood test order, in paper, in my hand, before leaving the doctors office. I started going to the Annapolis office and now I am at the silver spring office, I have to say there is a big difference with the staff, front and back office. I found the Annapolis staff to be unprofessional and rude, makes me wonder how the doctors feel about this but somehow I dont think they see it as a problem because it would have been addressed already. Silver Spring front and back office is great friendly, professional and very helpful. I had the misfortune of dealing with Nina the manager I am told and she is rude and unprofessional, and because of her I am looking for another office to get my care, The sad thing is I was not able to speak to anyone about my complaint , The doctors are too off limits for my taste and they do not return calls as if its beneath them not good as far as I am concern, but I did make an appt to see a doctor to discuss my issue with Nina, not really expecting a whole lot to happen but I am still going to try. I frequently, have had various problems getting a person on the phone, whether it is a busy signal or a voice mail, with no message. If I am ever able to leave a message, I rarely get a call back. The office staff is not professional or helpful. The day to day operations are extremely inefficient and unorganized. Like I said earlier, this has been an ongoing issue for as long as I have been a patient with Annapolis Endocrinology. Because of all these issues I feel forced to find another endocrinology practice. I have been reluctant to do so for awhile because of my confidence in the skills of my doctor. Dr. Cantero wants to micromanage every single aspect of your life. If you dare even peep that what she expects is applicable to type 2, maybe, but unreasonable for type 1s, youre dismissed. If you make a normal, standard change to dosages and even show improvement, youre screamed at and demeaned.Self care is critical to diabetes management. Stay away from this office if you want to live past 15 years of your T1 diagnosis. These types of god-complex doctors WILL kill you. Being told than ANY deviation from target is YOUR FAULT is deadly, and thats all Dr. Cantero is interested in doing. Why is it deadly? Because it doesnt fix the problem. All it does is make Dr. Cantero feel superior. Feed that supersized ego, honey. No wonder theres all 5s and 1s... how much do you pay for a 5 star? What does it cost to get a 1 star removed?

Then she recommended a biopsy and cancer was discovered in the lump. At first I was scared to death, but she put me at ease and gave me time to think and answered all my questions and concerns. She referred me to a surgeon she said she would go herself if she needed it. The surgery went great and the entire treatment did not take more than a a few weeks. They took my information when they made the appointment, yet I received no notification that they changed to “MedStar” and no longer accepted my insurance. They told me at the desk that this wa stage only insurance ineligible. When I asked to talk to someone else, the receptionist looked over to a doorway behind her where a doctor was standing. Clearly they were afraid and unable to properly tell me why MY insurance was ineligible and they didn’t notify me.No where on their website does it say a change was made to MedStar, and MedStar’s doesn’t either. My initial experience (3 years ago) was 5+ stars, but it only went downhill from there. I loved Dr. Cantero my first visit. She was great, and Im sure she still is!! But after your first visit, they only have you meet with nurse practitioners unless you DEMAND to see a doctor. One visit we specifically asked to see a doctor. They sent in an NP, and we refused to speak with her. We asked for a doctor again, and reminded them we didnt mind waiting. They sent in ANOTHER NP! Its like they werent hearing my mom and I. We refused to have her conduct the appointment as well, and finally the doctor came in.Sidenote: Their office staff used to be a bit rude, but it seems like theyre a little better after possibly replacing a few people. My very last visit (a few months ago), I knew I needed to be done with them when a doctor I had NEVER met before came in thinking we knew each other. She barged into the room with no introduction, and I thought: hmm, pretty rude for a doctor whos meeting with a new patient... then she proceeded with the appointment and said something to the effact of, we talked about this last time, right?. NO I have never met you until now! So then the lack of introduction made sense because she thought we had met before. I was amazed... she truly thought I was her patient. Talk about disorganization and passing patients around. By the way, before she came in an NP told me I needed to take my new medication only as needed. But when the doctor came in and mentioned the dosage, she said I had to take it religiously twice a day! Soooo they think their NPs are so great and helpful, but I received complete misinformation! AND to make matters worse, when I told the doctor the NP told me a different dosage, she brushed it off!! Had I only seen an NP that day (like usual) I wouldve been taking the completely wrong dosage, which really couldve been detrimental to my health!!!So, Im officially done Annapolis Endocrinology. Endocrine issues are far too sensitive and serious for them to be so disorganized, negligent and unprofessional, treating patients like numbers on a chart.

What a horrible office. I have seen only one doctor there and the doctors are not the issue here. As we all know, its the office staff that you deal with for 95% of your experience. Deplorable. Do not use this office if you can avoid it. Calls and messages are sloppily done, gross office, rude staff and surprisingly unprofessional, limited methods for payment - unbelievable; their office policy about delivering test results was the kicker for me. I had no idea about their reputation until I had blood work done through one of their physicians. Their office policy is that they will not deliver results over the phone, so you have to visit one of their locations in person and pay to hear your results (the closest location for me was 45 minutes away and the problem I was being tested for had to do with extreme exhaustion issues...) - and you are required to show up and pay even if there is nothing outstanding in your blood work - TERRIBLE service, I cannot say that enough. Tip: in order to resolve the above mentioned issue about results: either call LapCorp directly (and they will tell you about your results over the phone) or sign a release form at another physicians office (your GP or OBGYN) and have it faxed to the Annapolis office. Again, if you can, avoid this office. I would like to note that a lack of me being friendly/respectful or kind was not the issue, whatsoever. There is a serious disconnect between the physicians and their staff and that needs to be resolved. And it is true - another reviewer talked about their late policy. Because their payment methods are so limited, my USAA American Express card would not be accepted and they refuse to mail out a bill. I understand this issue about non-payments and appreciate late policies. However, I was made aware that regardless of the fact that I was two hours away and would have to and get cash because they did not accept AE, that Id have to reschedule if I did not make it back from the ATM on time. Unbelievable. Rules are great and adhering to them strictly is important. But humans are not robots and we are made to be flexible to a certain, reasonable degree.

I have to say that I was a bit reluctant when I saw the reviews here. I figured though out of all the patients this group sees the ratio of complaints to the ones that were pleased but just did not take the time to write a nice was in my favor. So, I took the chance since my other choice was further away. I needed to get things looked at quickly. I called and was greated with a friendly professional voice on the other side. Even wished me a happy birthday since I was making the appointment on my birthday. I was hoping to get a certain day so she said to call back to see if the scheduled had changed since this happens from time to time. She was right because I called a few day later and was able to get my appointment. I arrive a bit nervous but arrive early with all my paper work ready. My waiting time was about 20 minutes in the waiting room.I am very outgoing friendly person so the only thing I will say is that everyone there could use some practice at smiling a little more. The atmosphere is a little serious understandibly being a medical office. But I feel that my friendlyness caused others to be friendly too. So, it would be correct to say that a smile is contagious. I met my first doctor who was very thorough and reassuring. Was advised to have biopsy to confirm all was negative. A week later later I had my biopsy with with one of the other Doctors and again very nice and compatent in my opinion. She was quick and explained what would happen and for how long. Its not a great experience having your Thyroid biopsy but she made it quick. She said I would have my results back in week and to make a follow up then. I went to front and to check out and again the girls at front were really nice. I was anxious to get my results and wanted to make appointment a week out exactly but I also needed early due to my work schedule. She could not find anything and I said, well maybe I can just keep checking back to see if someone canceled. She went to get her supervisor to look at the schedule. Quickly, they were able to get me schedule exactly one week from my biopsy date and when I my schedule would allow. Now thats TEAM work.My outcome was great when I met with the 3rd doctor who went over my results. She explained my results and I was happy with the explanation. I realize not everyone get to hear good news but my advise to patients when going anywhere is to expect what you give. If you are nice and friendly there is a better chance that you will get the same in return. I was very pleased. Happy Patient :-)

But as doctors offices run in general, my opinion had not been favorable, and after reading reviews and seeing some others having the same challenges as I did, I have decided that I am now going to swich doctors. I found this office overall to be perhaps overwhelmed by the number of people they are seeing. Im sure a lot of doctors offices are that way nowadays, but at least at the surface level, they all seem to keep it together. This one does not and I think that unless you are desparate to be seen by these particular doctors for some reason or because the location is good, I would look elsewhere for some help.

I had a horrible time getting them to send my ultrasound results and lab work to Johns Hopkins prior to my surgery. Then when I visited after my thyroid was removed I was referred for radioactive iodine ablation which would be done at Washington Hospital Center. At my next visit with Annapolis Endo 2 weeks later I found out that no referral had been sent to Washington Hospital Center - it was like they couldnt remember we had just discussed it two weeks ago! I am now (finally!) set up to to visit WHC next month for RAI and this past week I called Annapolis Endo and left 3 separate messages to make sure they had sent preauthorization status to my insurance company. No response. I finally sent an email basically laying out all my concerns and the fact that when dealing with a cancer diagnosis the last thing you need is added stress from poor management at your doctors office! That finally got me a return phone call from the head nurse. I also had questions about the lab work they ordered and said that WHC suggested I have additional labwork following RAI. The nurse basically told me they didnt care about those numbers and if I had concerns I could discuss it with my doctor at my follow-up appointment. I plan to be under the care of a new and hopefully more caring endo by that time. I dont know how well Annapolis Endo deals with other patients but if you have thyroid cancer I DO NOT recommend going here! Actually whatever your condition, if you would like to have good communication and expect return phone calls, this is not the place for you!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLEI only went to this place cz my PC refereed it. There office service is HORRIBLE. They do not answer the phone because they dont even have one except in their Annapolis Office. They will not return your messages either!! And will try to charge you cancellation fees because they only check their voice mails every 2 hours according to the office staff.I had an appointment and was late cz I got into a fender bender on my way to the doc. I called them and left a message. No one called me back and when I made it to the office they refused to see me even though I was only 30 mins late.I can understand not accomodating people who are late but not showing compassion towards a person who was in an accident is what wall street does and not something your doctor should do. I was only there to get prescriptions and the doctor had said it would be a 5 min appointment to go over my labs and send in the prescriptions during the last visit. For them not to have 5-10 mins for a patient who had an accident and still showed up to their office shows that they dont even deserve to be doctors. They need to be bankers. They are in the wrong business.PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR HEALTH IN THEIR HANDS. THEY HAVE NO COMPASSION FOR THEIR PATIENTS!!

I used to go there. The unprofessionalism of the front desk was too much for me to take. I left about 5 years ago.

Twice I had to wait 90 minutes to see my doctor. When I asked the doctor about it I was scolded (apparently you shouldnt question the doctor!) and told to go somewhere else. Not very compassionate or professional.
