I arrived as directed at 7:00 am for an 8:00 am procedure (upper endoscopy). Staff was efficient and helpful. Doctor was running early. My procedure was done and once I was awake the doctor came in to talk to me. He was succient and said everything was normal. Asked if I had any questions. I couldnt think of any so that was that. The report included colored pictures of areas addressed as well as written details. Doctor took biopsies in several areas , results to be given after pathologist reviews them. I was out of the office by 9:00 am. This was my first interaction with this doctor.

ERCP procedure seems to have gone well and thanks to Dr. Olenec for his medical skill. When recovering from my many colonoscopies and now this ERCP, I’m at a disadvantage in the few moments of post procedure time, when there’s that brief chance to ask a question or two of the gastroenterologist. When my wife could be with me at such times, that was a big help. But since that’s not possible in the Covid environment, I missed having those few moments of coherent Q & A.

Dr. Olenec was wonderful. Very patient and kind. Did not feel rushed when I had my first visit with him. My prior Dr. retired and I am so pleased to have Dr. Olenec. I will specifically ask for him for any appointments. Hes my Doc!

Nobody likes this procedure, but it is necessary, and I encourage EVERYONE to get them as recommended. The updated prep recipe using Gatorade was much more palatable. All I tasted was the Gatorade, and everything else worked out fine. The time in the office and the procedure was the easiest it has ever been for me. Great facility and an outstanding staff!

Dr. Jackson is absolutely amazing! She is easy to talk to, actively listens, and is very thorough. I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Jackson. However, calling the office to speak to someone is extremely frustrating as Ive had to wait on hold for up to 30 minutes. In addition, sending a message on the portal isnt reliable because I havent always received a response.

I believe that instructions for telemed visits should be sent with the reminder of appointment. Every doctor/practice does visits differently. Do not assume a patient knows or remembers your process. Dr. Jackson is awesome! Very easy to talk to and understand. SHE IS A GEM!

Nice office and the employees were very kind. The one concern I have was the very fact that I expected Dr. Taunk, to do a physical examination. I am concern about the condition of my abdominal hernia as well as the other conditions that I came to him to diagnose. And he did not take a brief look at it. Though I do understand he is taking a cautious approach to seeing me and he did suggest a plan of treatment. However, I would have felt much better for a more through examination. Thank you! Called several times and left voicemail messages as well as several online through the Patient Portal. Didnt receive the prep information in time to have my procedure performed and had to have it rescheduled over 2 months out.Communication is key for patients. It used to be top notch and Id typically get a call or response online within hours, this was days and caused my procedure to be pushed even further out.

Dr. Schultz was very professional and caring. Excellent bedside manners.Made me feel like a patient not a number. Would highly recommend him to others.

The logistics was a nightmare I called the help line to verify where my appointment I was send to Anne Arundel hospital spent 35 minutes there before they sent my to Best gate facility where I ended up on the wrong floor luckily the maintenance man came by. Once I was in the correct place fast friendly service! The phone system is the worst I drove from Bowie to Odenton on hold with my initial visit got in the office before my call was answered.

My visit with Ms. Era was brief but very good. She took the time to hear what my symptoms were and prescribed the recommended treatment for me. She is very understanding.

Everyone person I talked to from the front to the back was professional and kind. There’s sooooo many medical offices that I’ve come across ( and I know many other people as well) that come to an office and the front off staff can be horrible but the doctor is excellent or vice versus but this office exceeded my expectations. From the greeting from the front desk to be checked in to the nurse to the doctor everyone was a pleasure to talk to. Wait time was reasonable and the doctor answered all my questions. Never did I feel like the appointment was being rushed so he could get to the next. Dr. T. Waiting for an appointment I know can be annoying but it’s worth the wait. I’m actually going to have my husband see the same Dr that how much I liked it.

They were both extremely competent and caring. They made my experience as comfortable as possible as I watched the entire procedure on the monitor. Good news too...no polyps this time.

It was my first visit there. It wasnt very inviting I just say. People were respectable but I felt like I was just a number.. They took my blood pressure and weight the young lady gave me no feedback .. They didnt have all my records ..the Dr. Really didnt know anything about me I had to give him updates on my condition.

I love Dr. Raja Taunk. I tell everyone about him. He is so knowledgeable, he makes you feel very comfortable, he explains everything to you. His staff is amazing. I was so afraid to have the endoscopy recently but his kind face is so welcoming and his staff was so empathetic, they made me feel at ease. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of care. They listen and make you feel like you are number one! Dr. T also performed my colonoscopy. I had a very pleasant experience with that. I am terrified of needles, being put to sleep, procedures and surgeries but Dr. Taunk makes you forget about everything. He is trustworthy, honest, compassionate and an expert in his field. I have been overweight for at least 20 years and Dr. Taunk wanted me to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. I laughed so hard and in my mind said that it is NEVER going to happen, but I trusted him and began my weight loss and eating correctly journey and I lost 8 pounds in a week. He has given me so many things to be thankful for and I am thankful for Dr. Taunk and his amazing team.

I had a great experience at anne arundel gastroenterology. The office staff were very kind and quick when checking me in. I didn’t have to wait long at all to see the doctor. I had read reviews about this particular doctor that weren’t great but I was desperate and it was the only appointment I could get. I was very happily surprised when I quickly realized the reviews were wrong. Dr. Olenec was kind and relatable. He was very thorough. He explained every possible scenario that I could be dealing with and confidently narrowed down my issue. He definitely put my mind at ease. He answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. And I’m already feeling better! Very grateful for this appointment!

I have been frustrated in trying to get a communication with this practice. Messages to the portal are not always answered, and sometimes it takes a while. And it is hard to get an urgent appointment, even Telehealth. However, when I actually get the interaction, I am happy.

Youre just a number. I have been going to, Dr. Schultz, for almost one year, almost. I was told that I had something that could be treated. I got another MRI and blood work, 6 months after the first. Same results, no treatment. I have repeatedly emailed stating that I was nauseated, not well, among other things that were consistent with liver function. What does he write in his after-patient summary; each time: no complaints of liver issues, etc., failing to report the things that I told him via email. Then, the latest MRI scan, produced a new finding, but in a different organ. He didnt even know about it. He never read my MRI report. I had to tell him. Dr. Schultz doesnt spend time to really listen and hear me. It doesnt seem like he cares. I have been through a lot lately (cancer, autoimmune). I just want the Dr to do their job. It seems the only interest here is to get patients to do a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy and to make money. I will be going somewhere else to find better care. I dont want to be just a number. My life matters. I dont like leaving reviews like this, but I wasted almost a year of my life here when I could have been getting treatment for my condition. I dont want the same to happen to someone else.

Beware the certified letter!!!!My wife get a colonoscopy. Everything was OK. A few years go by and she gets a reminder letter in the mail. She doesnt act on it right away and apparently, not fast enough for the office.So today she gets another letter. This one reminds her that she got a kindly reminder to schedule an appointment.Now this is where it gets obnoxious, at the bottom of the letter, in bold type there is a threat. if we do not hear from you in a timely manner this letter will be followed by a final reminder sent via Certified mail. All caps and bold font.There are further instructions saying to avoid the inconvenience of a certified letter, contact our office today.This is how they do business. Make an appointment or else!!!

Ive been a patient here multiple times for years. I called just now to get an appointment because Ive been having severe stomach pain for several days at a time, going on for over a month. First off, it took 25 minutes, just to have someone answer the phone. Then, when a dingy young woman answers it, I explain that Ive been in increasing pain for several days, she replies that I can see the doctor in over a month!! Even to see one of their non-doctors, which Ive had to before, it takes over a week. These telephone operators need to be grown ADULTS who understand that a patient could possibly have bowel obstruction, an appendicitis, bowel perforation, a strangulated hernia - ANY of possible causes that are potentially dangerous. Does the operator think shes scheduling people for a haircut?? Also, what if a patient has bowel cancer - are they supposed to wait another month for an initial appointment, not to mention horrible wait times for follow-on appointments to lose all that time they could have been actually fighting the cancer?? My father was a surgeon for 48 years. If a patient has stomach pains for a week, and they called on a Sunday, he saw them that Sunday!! THAT is real medicine. AAGA is just a money-making machine who isnt the slightest bit concerned with helping patients.An added note, when I went for a colonoscopy a year ago, their 6+ foot brute of a nurse anesthetist really roughs up the patients. It was like getting mugged prior to being put to sleep. I was sore for days.

All was as it should be until I was finished. As soon as I woke up from anesthesia I was handed my clothes. I was then rushed out to my ride. I was not put in a wheelchair even though I told the nurse assisting me that I was still dizzy. I discovered 15 min. later that my cell phone was missing. I called right away but it was never found. It cost me $600+ to replace my phone.

I was scheduled for a upper endoscopy to be performed at AAMC. I had received my instruction on 6/9 and was scheduled for 7/14. I did everything I was suppose to do. I arranged my transportation which means my driver had to take off work to drive me home. When I arrived at 8:05 for a procedure that was scheduled for 9:45. Upon check in the desk receptionist said I was not in the rotation. She assisted me in trying to find out what was going on and a nurse was also trying to find out. I showed them my instruction email in addition to the confirmation on the portal. Long story short... well maybe not.....AA Gastrology failed to put me on the hospital schedule despite them actually scheduling me. The staff at the hospital was trying to get another doctor to do my procedure. Now here is the kicker. I was scheduled for this procedure 2 times before and my doctor canceled both time. The first time I accepted it. The second time I was frustrated and said that it was the second time that she canceled me. So they scheduled for the third time for 7/14 and I had to go through this. Meantime while the desk receptionist and the nurse trying to squeeze me in, I call the office. After being on hold for about 20 minutes I finally talk to someone at the office and they clarified that yes I was scheduled but did not know what happened. She further checked and said there was a not in the file where my doctor asked if the patient know that she was not doing the procedure that one of her partners was. Obviously the left hand didnt know what the right hand was doing. While Im on the phone the nurse came out and said that she was trying to find a doctor to do my procedure but her partner was there doing procedure but could not get me in and she asked the other Gastroenterologist if they could but they were already behind. I thanked her for her help and I said I dont want just anybody doing this other than my doctor.So as I was leaving, (very angry I might add) the doctors office called me. The receptionist apologized up one side and down the other. I expressed my anger, disappoint and restated that she canceled me twice and now this. I was so angry. She asked if I could come in tomorrow 7/15. I said NO! I have other appointments and I cant have someone lose another day if work. She said she could reschedule but it would be far out. At this point I was livid. I told her that I could talk anymore because if I did I was going to say something and she would end up hanging up on me. She ask if she could call me after 1:00 to discuss whether or not to schedule. It was to give me time to calm myself. So I went home. She did call and again apologized for their action again. I told her not to bother. Im not rescheduling. I actually fired AA Gastrology. Just tell me how to get my records and I will be looking for another Gastroenterologist. By 3:30 pm I found another Gastro and have an appointment on the 27th July.This was just a pure lack of compassion. During all of this and the phone call back and forth, I never heard from the doctor herself. After all she was in her Anbapolis office and her partner was doing her procedures, at least that how it appeared to me. She could have at least called me to offer an apology and explanation.

They have a good system and everyone is nice. Only negative is they kick you out too soon while I could barely walk from being still groggy.

My long term doc there retired and i transfered to a different place. Well something big happened and i kinda wanted a second opinion. So i went back to these guys and gals. I saw a wonderful doc who answered all my questions was upfront polite nice and wonderful. I understand other places not wanting to share there work or records and larger places being under staffed under paid and not really there. So i brought a copy of my own records. The place was nice , friendly , warm, kinda made me miss going there. But i respected what they had to say and their recommendations. I found the place clean, well organized, and really easy with the tablet and new check in options. And Gmed. Made everything simple and easy to understand. But every person has a different exsperieance and each their own.

Wonderful!! The staff was friendly, competetent and efficient!

I was experiencing some awful symptoms that were getting worse. Nurse Practitioner, Nicole Dennis, was the original provider I saw. She was not listening to anything I was saying and kept shutting me up and saying “it’s acid reflex. I’m a professional”. (Having awful acid reflux through both of my pregnancies, I knew this wasn’t acid reflux). My symptoms became far worse and I called begging for additional tests. After she finally ordered an abdominal scan (per my request) it was discovered I had gallstones. She didn’t want to look at my results till a week later so I finally made an appointment with a different provider. Nicole managed to see me that day but took the opportunity to inform me how inconvenient my appointment was and began to speak poorly about her colleagues instead of addressing my dire situation. She then tells me “you got gallstones. Go to the ER and tell them you need your gallbladder out”. Being desperate, and eager for some sort of solution, I do just that. The Emergency Room staff looked at me as if I had two heads. I ended up going back home and practically hysterical at this point, call the on call doctors, who advise me to have a follow up. I went back to the ER 12 hours later and had my gallbladder removed as my symptoms were worsening. I am now seeing Dr. Jencks who has completely changed my faith in this practice. He has intently listened and provided educated and sensible solutions.

Interesting how the practice thanks the good reviews but doesnt address the negative reviews or reach out to the reviewer, offering to discuss the matter and make things right

I had an initial procedure in September and a follow-up procedure in March, both of which were performed by Dr. Jencks. The prep for these procedures is quite unpleasant (you can guess what the procedures were), but wholly necessary to ensure efficacy of the procedures. The staff, from the front desk to the medical professionals that insert and administer I.V.s, monitor vitals, and administer anesthesia are very considerate and professional in their approach. Dr. Jencks is also considerate and professional and explains things clearly. They all made the experiences as pleasant as possible. Great people.
