A 1 Star rating for this practice is being generous. As other reviewers have noted the front deck is a nightmare, long waits on hold and when they finally answer a complete lack of respect and concern.I was initially Dr. Lake’s patient who I liked, she left the practice several years ago. Her replacement in my opinion is not a caring, competent physician who you can entrust with your health. You can wait days or weeks for an appointment, does not fully evaluate your concerns, is dismissive and somewhat neglectful. She provides little to no follow through, and if lucky may leave a short vague message in My Chart, her preferred method of communication. You can make an inquiry in My Chart, if you do not exceed 400 characters, however you likely will not receive an answer. Yes, you can leave a message at the front desk, likely won’t get a reply, I’ve been waiting 8 days and counting! In the past I would just give-up and hope nothing serious was wrong. Today, I am experiencing two health concerns that I truly feel deserves 10 minutes of my Dr.’s attention to explain test results and answer my questions. Honestly is that too much to ask?The billing department is another EPIC nightmare,18 months ago I was billed twice for the same test. I have made repeated phone calls to try to resolve the discrepancy, spoke to both Laura & Lauren without success. I was told that Carolyn their supervisor would contact me….to date no word from Carolyn.I’m now searching for another GP because my health is important, and I have serious concerns that my well-being is a priority at Annapolis Primary Care.

I think the walk in clinics and urgent care will be clustered with non medical problems. What is the point in having a doctor if you cannot get in to see them. Another doctor told me it would be 3 months to reschedule a 15 minute appointment. Really? So why are you taking new patients? Ridiculous.

Years ago when I located this practice and Dr. Williams after moving to the area, I honestly couldnt have been happier. So happy, that I chose them as the PCP for my family. Unfortunately, over the last two years, I have become increasingly disappointed. Making an appointment to see Dr. Williams is still painless and I am always happy with the care she provides but anything else is a chore to say the least. I had to see another provider when Dr. Williams was not available who put incorrect information in my chart and was mediocre in care in my opinion.Sending messages to the staff through the patient portal or even calling and leaving messages to get a referral or an order for testing..pre-authorization for medication....its a mess. I shouldnt have to call every few days to see if there is any movement in my inquiry and this last one that have been going back and forth with for a month, I am now on my 2nd week of waiting on a response. I called to get an order for my daughter to get a Covid test on Thursday morning at a Lab since we couldnt get any appointments at the pharmacies, and we still havent heard anything for that. I suppose thats not a priority. Its not pleasant to feel as if the people in charge of your medical care are too busy or do not consider you a priority. I understand there are many patients but that is the nature of the business you chose. So, now it is my choice to seek out a new provider. I have been pushing this off in the hopes things would get better but I just dont see that happening.

Sadly, I think I’m going to be looking for a new doctor’s office. This place has changed so much in twenty years, not for the better. The staff is mediocre at best and my doctor, who I always thought so highly of, acts like his hair is on fire every time I see him. I see him maybe twice a year and he can’t stop to answer a couple of questions. Everything is done through MyChart, there’s no personal contact unless absolutely necessary. This may be due to corporate pressure, the pandemic, and natural burnout, or all three. Very disappointing.

Avoid Christine Smith. I got discriminated against because of my gender and pre-existing conditions; I also had a UTI and was prescribed no antibiotic treatment, only urinary tract pain reliever.

My former practice, AAMG Chesapeake Family Practice, just merged with Annapolis Primary Care. Since we moved to Annapolis in 2017, Ive been seeing Any Hoetzel, Nurse Practitioner. Shes kind, capable, and thorough, and talks to you like you are a human being. Im so far very happy with all of the staff Ive encountered. The waits are never too long, everyone is courteous and professional, and Ive never had a problem with scheduling or billing. So, Im hoping that all of AAMG Annapolis Primary Care is as good as all of the folks theyve brought over from Chesapeake Family Practice.

I was suppose to be getting help with making my husband an appointment for his vaccine after one of the reps lost patience with me and a girl name Syreetta took over the call and she said that she would call me back but never did. When I finally got back in touch with her she was very rude as if I was annoying her. Im 67 years old and I know Im not as fast paced as some people but I am a human being who just wanted help for her husband. We will be looking elsewhere for the vaccine since Luminis lacks compassion and understanding.

Easily the most unprofessional medical experience I have had w a doctors office. From scheduling to the intake nurse and doctor I was given that looked like he had just come from working on his car, it was all bad. I have noticed that they only have DOs and NP, no MDs, and was told they left because bad pay and conditions. I can believe it as this practice is obviously lacking leadership. It should be closed until they can meet the standards of a qualified medical office.

Wonderful team of doctors with world class staff. You can really count on them to get you in when you need help and the doctors work together so even if your normal doctor is out of town you arent left high and dry. The nurses and admin staff are simply amazing, caring, knowledgeable, and warm. It is always a pleasure.

Ive been a patient at Annapolis Primary Care my whole life. Dr. Lapenta actually did a house visit to check up on me 2 days after I was born! I started seeing Dr. McGlone after Dr. Lapenta retired and I love him. Ive always felt like he respected me and listened to me. Ive never felt rushed in an appointment. My parents are also patients there and its my understanding that there is a wait for routine check ups, but Ive gotten same day or next day appointments several times for all sorts of issues. I also love that Dr. McGlone is very responsive through MyChart so I can get things like routine labs and prescription refills without a visit. There have been a few times where Ive seen someone besides Dr. McGlone. I saw another doctor once and a NP two or three times and I have no complaints about them. The woman at the front desk has been there for as long as I can remember and shes great. She does have a sharp tone which I guess some people interpret as rude but it doesnt bother me. She efficient and on top of things. And Ive never had surprise fees from them.

They are literally horrible when it comes to dealing with billing. They submitted my bill incorrectly in March and Ive been trying to resolve this for months. No one ever answers the phone, no one ever returns calls. Dealing with this office has been a headache and I am in the process of looking for a new doctor.

Dr Fry is a great doctor with a pleasant personality. He always explains everything to my satisfaction. They are always prompt with keeping appointment times which is the main reason I left the last practice. The receptionist could be a little friendlier but that is a minor detail.

As a family of 6, we have seen many many doctors. Thanks to my husbands wonderful insurance, we never pay anything for annual physicals or new patient appointments. I found this Dr through my insurance website so it should have been 💯 covered. I made the same appt for myself at Waugh Chapel, received a physical and blood work, and it was free. Not only did this office not perform a physical nor routine blood work like my primary care doctor did for my first visit, they charged my husband an office visit fee and literally did nothing. In fact, they billed my insurance over 200 for ... What? No exam nor blood work? I am quite confused about what they charged us for and the fact that we ended up paying money for an office visit when I have spent literally nothing in my hospital stays having 4 premature babies in the NICU shows that this group is putting in false charges just to make money. I spoke with my own primary care doctor in the same Anne Arundel county group and they were horrified that we were charged money when neither a physical nor blood work was even performed. What did we pay for?!?!

I love Annapolis Primary Care and have been a patient, as well as my husband Pat. We love Dr Canan and Ellen, as well as other folks. We have never encountered any difficulties, and would highly recommend Dr Canan! He spends time with each one of his patients and truly cares! Thank you!!

Incredibly rude receptionist, I have been a patient for over 25 years my daughter has been a patient since birth. I was not allowed to make an appointment then was abruptly hung up on. I did not want to believe this practice has gone downhill so dramatically. But turns out the google reviews were true. It’s a shame when Dr Lapenta was still practicing I highly recommended this office. If anyone in charge happens to read this I would recommend retraining or firing your reception staff. And I am still waiting for a supposed call back I highly doubt that is going happen.

I would NOT recommend this office. I asked for my strep test to go to culture to confirm, the Doctor indicated that she would send for culture, but did not. Now I have to pay for another visit to get re-swabbed. This is a waste of my money and time. Very frustrating. Also, the doctors typically dont actually see you, they just send in the nurse practitioner. I had a chronic cough that they didnt seem interested in solving and just kept pushing inhalers. It turns out I have Bronchiectasis, not asthma. But they never listened when I told them the inhaler didnt work, or that my PFT numbers indicated no improvement with steroid.

This is the kind of place whose providers will treat you like a number even when the office is empty, only see you for one minute, talk over you the whole time, charge you hundreds of dollars for a referral, and insist that it is good care. Extremely disappointing.

Lets start off with the Office Manager , I left 4 voicemail messages 2 of which she told the phone room to send me to her VM so I could leave her a message two times she refused to get on the phone , number two I had been discharged from the practice for 2 no shows and 5 cancellations since Jan 2018 ... OK so be it so I got discharged , so anyway I email the NP and asked her for a 30 day supply of my meds until my appointment with my new PCP she proceeded to tell me in the email that I would receive a Certified Letter regarding the discharge and her exact words were Frankly I wasted her Time OK really ???? Very unprofessional , and very unnecessary to make such a comment coming from a medical provider that treats patients all day.. AAMC will be receiving a call from me tomorrow

Have been once, but NP Hoetzel was great and took me seriously. She spoke frankly but with great compassion and, most importantly, respect for me as a person. I have had a lot of awful experiences treating my chronic pain and depression, so I will wait to update this to 5 stars depending on how it goes over time; but as someone with a lot of medical trauma, this place - and Nurse Hoetzel - have given me a bit of hope.

Really disappointed with this place. The woman who answers the phone at times seems like she hates her job and is annoyed at best when she answers the phone. On top of that I set up 2 appointments for my family on the same day but only one was apparently recorded. Had to push the other family members back 3 months because of their clerical error. We came there and really loved our family doctor but since she left I feel there is no real reason to stay and will get a place that I trust and appreciate with my familys health.

I have yet to be impressed. I chose this practice because a friend of mine goes to one of the doctors there. However I was unimpressed with Dr. Fry. Felt rushed during my first appointment (as a new patient) and the physical I got was open up and say ahhh and that was about it. Suggested blood work but never followed up. During another visit they could not refer me to an orthopedic doctor within my health plan when I had a broken bone- I had to find one myself. Im hoping third times the charm with this visit. If not, Im changing doctors.

Do NOT go to Annapolis Primary Care. Went for a routine annual which is typically 100% covered by my insurance but i was charged an office visit since referrals were issued. I told the nurse i had a pre-existing condition that my specialist was unconcerned about but i took the referrals as a courtesy. If i knew a nurse putting pen to paper would result in an out of pocket charge for me i wouldnt have said anything. So next time you visit this office, dont ask questions, dont mention anything, just sit there for the quick 5 minute check up and you wont be charged. I love the anne arundel medical group and had only great experiences until now. Such a shame since they could have EASILY remedied the situation but they didnt. They nickle and dime their patients.

I was referred to this group and given several names of doctors from the hospital itself. I stayed for 3 days with serious blood clots in both lungs. They wanted me to immediately get in touch with their primary doctors for followups and referals. I called immediately, but was told that they werent taking on new patients for over two and a half months from now. Well my situation really cant wait that long. It shouldnt, and the hospital wanted me to get followups quickly. The staff was also rude on the phone with how they explained it. I will take my business elsewhere then since they are refusing to. Strange, especially with the hospital in their medical group sending patients, and they are refusing!

I had a 2pm appointment and the office waiting area was empty when I arrived. At 2:15 when I inquired at the reception desk about my appointment, I was told by the reception staff that you have to wait when you want to see a practioner. The receptionist had a condescending tone so I sat and waited more than another 15 minutes and walked out. If you are looking for a physician in the Annapolis area, I suggest you look elsewhere.
