Please keep looking for a different provider. I was treated my Marla Spring for several years. She never seemed to take my concerns seriously. Several times she would recommend a medication to me, but she couldn’t explain what it did or how it worked to address my issues. When I asked how this medication would help me, she got frustrated and said, “I don’t know precisely, but I’ve been putting women on it for years.” On three separate occasions, I asked her to adjust my medication because I was suffering from extreme fatigue. She recommended I sleep less at night because I was sleeping “too much.” It wasn’t until I switched practices that I realized she was not interpreting my lab results correctly, which would have explained my fatigue.I attempted to switch practitioners within this practice, but it was not permitted for “continuity of care” purposes. I never wanted to deal with the hassle of finding a new practice, so I just sucked it up. That was a big mistake.Perhaps another doctor at this practice could offer better care, but best to steer clear of Ms. Spring.

Practically impossible to talk to a provider. Sent a message through MyChart last week and had to follow up by phone call 3 times to get someone to call me back a week later. Each phone requires a hold time of 15+ minutes. Such a waste of time and so incredibly frustrating.

Tried to make an appointment for my mother -- even though she doesnt need a referral from her primary care physician, they wont even make an appointment until they get the referral. Who has time for this nonsense? Got an appointment at MedStar in Annapolis in two weeks -- no referral needed; and didnt have to wait on hold forever to speak with someone. Come on Luminis...

Extremely disappointed with the quality of this practice, both from a provider and professional standpoint. As a new patient, the earliest appointment I could get was with Marla Spring, NP, so I took it. From my first appointment I noticed she was giving me conflicting advice, telling me one thing in office and then another after I would follow up with her (ex. If your test results come in as x, we will reduce your prescription. My test results came in as x and she told me to keep the same dosage, etc.) I had 2 more appointments with her and the conflicting advice just kept getting worse. I expressed my concerns about her competency to AAMG and requested a provider change. They would not allow this because I had already established care with Spring. I now have to leave the group because I do not trust my health in the hands of the provider I was given.

Very disappointed. I wish Annapolis had a quality Endocrine doctors office. The last appointment I made I was on hold for 20 minutes before I was helped just to get an appointment over a month away.

3+ months to get seen, a long time, but that’s fine. A week before the appointment, the office called and canceled with no reason given. Called back to reschedule and there was another 3+ month wait, as if they weren’t the ones who canceled. They did nothing to make up for the fact they canceled last minute and the total wait time would be 6+ months for an initial visit. Care might be good, but not if you can’t be seen.

Terrible. Im not sure why Its so difficult for office staff to make appointments correctly. I called to make an appointment and was told that due to a cancellation, I could come in the next morning, Thursday. I took time off of work for the appointment and when I showed up, the front desk told me that my appt was scheduled for the following day, Friday, instead. Of course I was quite annoyed that they had scheduled the wrong day. I told the front desk that I would NOT be returning the next morning, and the office charged me a no-show fee. So ridiculous and unprofessional. Im switching doctors.

I am a registered nurse and Dr Onumah is my endocrinologist. She is knowledgeable yet very personable. I followed her from Washington Hospital Center and I believe I made the right choice.
