First pregnancy, expecting in March and first time experience with Chiropractic care!Dr. Kneessi and the staff at Elevate Life Women’s Clinic have been amazing to deal with.I have been a low risk pregnancy and talked to my OB about Chiropractic care around when I was 15 weeks. I woke up one day unable to walk and in extreme pain on my right side/gluteal area. I do workout 2-3 times a week and did so before getting pregnant, and an avid runner so occasional soreness in the hips and glutes depending on if I was trying to PR or did hill work is totally ok to me but this feeling was so different. I tried to stretch, certain exercises, take warm showers to help me and “walk it out”. It took a while before it calmed down. Once my OB said it’s fine to look into Chiro care I began my search and immediately found Elevate Life. When looking on their site I saw the Women’s clinic and how they offer prenatal chiropractic care! I was super excited they had a women’s clinic because being pregnant during the pandemic I get major cabin fever and I work from home so I don’t get out much and really looked forward to connecting with another woman (in person) on how I felt especially because this is my first pregnancy.I requested for an appointment through their site and not long after I got a phone call to schedule an appointment. The scheduler was really pleasant, had a happy tone and answered all questions. I ask a million questions so I praise her for her patience with me.My first appointment with Dr. Kneessi was such an eye opener! She was very thorough and clear. Besides her being super welcoming, good vibes and happy tone, her professionalism is top notch. I never felt uncomfortable at any point. She really explained things so well for me to understand. I thought I knew enough on how the body works but she really elaborated on things (like the pelvic area) that I didn’t even know about and helped me so much with navigating through my pregnancy and growing belly. First thing we would do is go over how I’m feeling and what I noticed would cause an increase in pain then would get to alignment or soft tissue manipulation to help relax my body then off to body mechanics and exercises. I really trust her and felt very comfortable on her aligning me being pregnant. Dr. Kneessi just knew actually where it was needed and after aligning we would get into exercising she would show me how to work those certain areas of my body to help strengthen those muscles.Don’t get me wrong, I still feel like a turtle flipped on it’s shell and Humpty Dumpty all in one, but my pelvic area and back feel so strong and in-place! Before seeing Dr. Kneessi I didn’t feel connected and strong. Being 35 weeks I don’t think I’d feel this comfortable in my own skin and be able to function as well as I do if it weren’t for Dr. Kneessi.I told Dr. Kneessi that I was sad this is my last appointment because I have thoroughly enjoyed this process/maintenance care with her and seeing the benefit since day one is amazing. After today’s appointment we agreed to setting up a 39 weeks appointment just for mobility. After birth and when I am cleared, I plan on going back to help get me back to my pre-pregnancy so I can be functional and healthy the right way before jumping back into it blindly. I look forward to learning about postpartum care so I can also be be healthy for my baby and myself. To anyone on fence or curious about prenatal Chiropractic care it doesn’t hurt to set up an appointment to see if it’s for you! I highly suggest it and strongly recommend Elevate Life!
