Paul always does a great job with my hair cut! I have curly hair, it can be hard to find someone who consistently does great work. Im glad I found this place!

Everything about the service there is poor quality, not professional, not clean, not on time, and poor value.I had to pay $70 just for a hair trim for my appointment at 2 pm and I was not being serviced until 2:20 pm. I made an appointment with Paul based on good reviews, but I deeply regretted picking him to do a hair TRIM. He rushed throughout the service and missed a few hair strands. I came home to find that my hair trends are not being trimmed properly. It feels like good reviews about Paul is all FALSE. The salon was not clean as ants are on the floor. Just everything about there is NOT good. Wont be coming back.

I had highlights done here this week and they burned my face in TWO places with the bleach mixture! The person who did my hair there was really rough throughout the process as well, pulling on my hair not detangling it carefully at all. I went there for a haircut a few months ago (different stylist) and it was fine. But I do NOT recommend that you have your hair bleached there! Also, they charged me almost $300 for the highlights and haircut - ridiculous.

I had the most wonderful experience at this salon. I was able to book an appointment quickly, and when I arrived, they were ready. The location was very organized and there seemed to be a wonderful team camaraderie. I got my hair colored and they helped me find the right shade and I am thrilled with the result! They have a great team work balance of coloring hair, cutting hair, and styling it. I will 100% go back and get my hair done here again!

I went to a different salon and immediately regretted my decision. Never again. I dont care if the place has good ratings and closer to me. I will be going to Pauls. He knows his stuff and Im always happy with my haircut. If you are going to spend that much money on a hair cut, make sure you are happy. Go to Paul Michaels!!!

I loved this place from the moment I called to schedule the appointment but even more after I left. I think I got the best cut I’ve had in close to 20 years, exactly what I wanted. I loved watching him cut and teach his apprentice at the same time, you could tell how skilled and patient he is. I will be going back for sure.

Went in looking for a new haircut place and walked out having had the best experience in a long time. The wait was very reasonable and the services fantastic. The interior was clean and well maintained. Explaining my desired haircut was easy and stress free and the staff understood and listened to what I wanted, then checked in throughout to ensure I like what was done. Highly recommend.

True confession. I got my hair cut most recently before Paul Michaels Salon at a discount hair salon. The stylist gave me a weird bi-level cut - hard to explain, but it was weird. I waited quite awhile 3 months? before going to Paul Michaels Salon. Dina (sp?) was super. She asked me great questions, LISTENED to me and gave me better advice than any hair dresser Ive been to. I have hair that has become wavy/curly as Ive aged and as its changed my hair care needs have changed. Dina, herself, has curly hair and gave me tips on how to care for and style my crazy locks. Finally, it is family owned and operated. Fantastic!A bonus for me is that its super close to my home.Great service/Local/ family operated. I feel like I am at home when I am in Paul Michaels Salon– this salon has one of the best staff that makes you feel like you are having your hair done right in your home. The atmosphere is fantastic!!! I have lived in Alexandria for the past 10 years and for the past 4 years I have been getting my hair done by Paul. The other 6Y I have searched for stylist to only have my hair burned, shopped, and waited forever in the waiting room. I am SO HAPPY that I have found a hairstylist that listens what I need to be done to my hair and gives me his opinion what looks good and what doesnt. I get highlights/color every 8weeks and my hair is perfectly healthy. I always receive compliments about my hair and this makes me feel good about my self. I really dont know why people would go anywhere else to get their hair done. Paul Michaels is the best...Keep up the good work :))))))

Paul Rocks!. Where do I start? I am SOOO pleased with my FIRST Paul Michaels experience. I recently moved here from Michigan where the same girl had been doing my hair for 20 years so I was VERY nervous about having to find someone I trusted. I was in desperate need of a haircut and color from one that had definitely run its course, it had been roughly 5 months!!! I read a few reviews, narrowed it down to 5 places, picked up the phone and decided I would go to the first place that could at least get me in for a consultation-today. I gave the receptionist a brief history, explained my apprehension and made one request: a senior or master stylist, and she set up a consultation with Paul. I hung up and instantly felt queasy, I was stepping out of my comfort zone ... I showed up about 10 minutes early and was almost immediately introduced to Paul. He sat me down, LISTENED to me and offered ideas, and the best part about it was that I was comfortable with him AND he happened to have a cancellation later that day! He did an OUTSTANDING job, the color is fabulous, and the cut was exactly what my hair needed. I cant believe I lucked out on the first try. I think I may have found the guy who will be doing my hair for the next 20 years. Parking was easy, salon was fun & upbeat, staff was friendly, great selection of product. Thanks again Paul! :)

Best Color and Style ! I was getting ready for a much-needed Vegas trip and needed a new look! I brought a magazine photo to Paul, we exchanged some ideas of what will and won’t work for me and he went to work with it. I was a little nervous as always, but was beaming when my hair came out absolutely gorgeous! I went from brown hair to golden glowing locks with additional glossy sleek blonde highlights. Not to mention the blow dry & style on my very course hair lasted throughout 5 days! Paul is professional; he’s friendly and fun at the same time! He is definitely someone you look forward to visiting for great hair + conversation! :)

For a few years I went from hair salon to hair salon but never really felt happy. Then a friend recommended Paul Micheals and I went and saw Erica. She listened to what I wanted and did a terrific job. I absolutely loved the haircut she gave me! After that I have seen Paul too and he has also done a great job with my hair. The best thing for me, is that they really take time to listen to what I want and then do it. I finally found a place I will stick with!

Simply put Paul is wonderful, if you really want your hair done right, Paul is your guy.... I have tried so many other salons nobody was able to nail the hilight color of my hair like Paul did, the cut was just as great! Paul is wonderful again and again!!!

Love this salon!. Ive been getting my hair cut and colored here for over a year and I absolutely love it! The salon itself is cute and clean, but doesnt feel overwhelming like some of the salons in NoVa. A friend and I get go to Deana and love her, but I have another friend whos seen a couple of people and always had good results. Good price range!

Paul Michael Is The BEST!!! – Paul rocks! As a new resident to the DC area, I had to hunt around to find a place that could cut short hair well. Went through several places, Its amazing how many people dont have experience in cutting short hair and to top it off most people want to use a round brush on short hair when there finished. Makes you look about 20 years older.... To all stylist out there put the brush down!!!!Absolutely loved my haircut from Paul been with him for quite awhile and wouldnt go anywhere else!!! If your looking for really updated and edgy cut hes your guy!!!

Love this place. i use to go to hair cuttery and I come out with a uneven hair cut and a friend told me about this place and now Im a loyal customer. Very welcoming atmosphere and I get suggestions from the stylist compared with what I wanted and ended up great. You get what you pay for ;)

I had been searching for a hair stylist that gets me and my hair for years. I finally discovered Paul Michaels just before I moved from Annandale to Maryland back in February of 2014 and I make the trip back to get my hair cut every time I can. I use Deana, she is great.

I Was reffered here by a coworker , I have to say the salon was a bit off the beaten path for me , but well worth it. I had made an appointment with Paul, everyone was very friendly from the moment I walked in. I met with Paul and we discussed what I wanted , he gave me a few suggestions, that I decided to go with, He is very knowledgeable , I have been haveing my hair highlighted for years at another salon, and my hair was always dry and brittle whenever I left, Paul explained to me that it was not necessary to highlight the whole strand of hair everytime, and only highlight the new growth, so I went with what he said and I have to say my hair feltand looked great, the cut he suggested was very refreshing I needed it , I loved my hair, I will be back and I would recommend this salon.

I have never wrote a review, but my hair is so bad I felt obligated, Went in to get a new style, something to match my face, its called face recognition stylist, worst hair cut I have ever had, the top is to long and the bottom is so short it curls out at the ends, cute hair cut for a 15 year old girl, unfortunately I am almost 50 I will never go back would not recommend.

After waiting two hours and a waste of time, although I got a appointment earlier, they offered the worst service to my sister and at a high price, then we had to go to another salon to get a new hair cut
