I had conjunctivitis in both eyes. Dr. Walters prescribed antibiotic eye drops. He ran a rapid strep test and sent one away for confirmation. All seemed reasonable and responsible actions. Most impressive was his very specific steps on how to administer the drops properly and to wash all towels, etc., thoroughly. I was anxious to get out of there and on my way but he seemed to want to chat. Poor docs can’t please everyone!

Exposed to strep through my 4 year old. Went to IHA Urgent care at Dominoes Farm where I was assigned to Dr. Walter. I presented with a fever and a very, red, sore throat. Dr. Walter informed me that my rapid test came back negative and dismissed my symptoms entirely. He informed me that only 1 in 3 people exposed to Strep A actually get it and seemed shocked that I assumed I would be treated for Strep. He told me it was probably post nasal drip! 48hours later I get a call from the nurse at the office that the longer Strep test came back positive.

Dr. Walters saw my three year old daughter and though he was pleasant and engaged in a positive manner with my tot, he gave a rushed verdict. He took one look at her hives and diagnosed her with Scabies, prescribed an ointment which we applied and things got so bad!! Her entire body is covered in blisters, we ended up taking her across the street to the East Ann Arbor Health Clinic where two pediatricians both said she did not have Scabies and that the ointment prescribed by Dr. Walters exacerbated her condition. For the sake of my daughters privacy Im not posting pictures here but if you are a parent: trust me when I say this is every parents worst nightmare come to life. Unbeknownst to me, there is, in fact, a scientific exam involving a microscope that medical doctors can conduct to check whether the issue is Scabies or not. Dr. Walters never conducted such an exam and did not ask any questions nor did he consider any alternatives. Granted, I walked in and said I googled various hives and believed this may have been Scabies, but he is the professional and should have used his 20+ years of experience to think twice. So displeased with his service! IHA made us wait less than 15 minutes so that part of the experience was great, the aftermath has been less than stellar.

Dr. Walter became defensive and rude when I asked him if he would wear gloves before continuing to examine the patient(his reply, “you saw me wash my hands”) This is a basic procedure that he failed to follow; his actions and response were both embarrassing and unnecessary.
