I love it. The Community Kitchen is a great place to volunteer. Before the pandemic I would bring the entire family. Now with limited shift I bring one at a time. Thank you Food Gathers!

Everybody I have worked with have been sooo helpful in keeping me safe and in the middle of getting back on my own two feet. If you are willing to put forth the effort to help yourself they are more than willing to assist you, point you in the right direcions, and be there when you are struggling. this place and staff have been a TRUE blessing in my life..

I used to live there for 8 months, and around warming center is when it really starts to be tiresome... the staff are okay, but sometimes they help you sometimes they dont.. Its one of the best shelters out there thats for sure... you can eat here for lunch and dinner as well. If youre a veteren and homeless, this is a #1 place Id recommend, they get you a place within a month of signing up for their services. (VETS ONLY)

Ok, everyone reading this for anyone, including themselves, remember this information! To come to this place, homeless, for non- or resident (shelter) services, you have to: 1) physically be in Washtenaw County, 2) contact and get a referral from Housing Authority of Washtenaw County or H.A.W.C.. 3) Find out what time and day they are doing new intakes at the Delonis Center. (This does not guarantee they will have room, but you can still get non-residential services: showers, laundry, meals.)IF you are coming from out of state and intend to apply for welfare, housing, etc., you will need to obtain a local I.D./ (State license) for those applications. So, after you get your intake at the Delonis Center completed (30-45 minutes usually), make sure you get a letter from them on their letterhead stating you can receive mail at their address. Without that letter, youre wasting time and gas. After obtaining the letter, make a next-day appointment (this review is from 9/28/20) at the Secretary of State to change your license. You will need: your current license, social security card, birth certificate and the letter. They will staple something to your license as usable proof, until you get the new one in the mail. (Up to 3 weeks.) Once you start waiting for your new license, you can use your proof to get welfare, housing, etc., started.

Homeless shelter. Community kitchen. Social workers. Drs and nurses. Free clinic. They will give you warm winter hats, gloves, scarves, and socks if you need them. Lots of resources available. A great place to visit and a nice place to live.

The staff does nothing to help.. They claim they are always in a meeting. And will go so far as to lie to you about helping. I have been here for about a month, and I still dont the services that are offered here. They lie and say they will help you shortly, then leave the building. If someone is looking for a job where have to do nothing, apply here!!!
