Our toddler loves Vineyard. It’s an affordable daycare run by a good director, Peggy. She appears to manage the staff well and keeps the proper ratios.

My son started as an infant and I absolutely loved his care giver. She was kind, attentive, gave thorough reports. My son adored her. She always followed my wishes, communication was great. There was an assistant in that infant room early on who made a joke that my baby was so cute she wanted to take him home. That was off putting. VERY off putting. When he moved into the young toddler room thats where our troubles began. There was A LOT of turnover in that room and assistants didnt stay very long. To me this says they were either underpaid, overworked, or under qualified. I sent the Director a few messages about it and got no where. I ended up removing him from VCC because the high turnover was too much. There was also an incident where an assistant told me that my son was being restrained during nap time - he was 1 - because he wouldnt nap with the other kids. The lead teacher in that room was very nice but obviously things were getting out of control if anyone is restraining a 1 year old. This is not the least expensive option in AA and you would think that for the money youre spending youd be getting top notch care. I liked that food was provided for young toddlers and above and it was mostly healthy. They did have snacks like Veggie Straws - which I was opposed to. No bagged food for my 1 year old but thats personal. They did provide him with the snacks I would send and followed our dietary restrictions - which is HUGE. There were a few times my son came home with really bad diaper rashes once he moved to the older classroom. He never got them in my care so I dont know what to make of that. I will also mention that I appreciate that the young kids did things like color and have circle time.I would say infant care is stellar, toddler care is adequate. We left because I wanted more consistency in care givers for my son.

My 8 month old has been going to the VCC infant program for a few months now. She absolutely loves it there! All three of her teachers are fantastic. They really care for the kids and feel an ownership towards them. Every day, I get a written report of my kids day and in addition to that, the teachers will also discuss everything in person with me when I go to pick her up. There have been so many instances which proved the individualized attention my daughter gets there. I fully recommend the infant program!

Ive been bringing my 2 children to Vineyard Childrens Center for 2 years now. The staff is absolutely spectacular. My youngest is now in the preschool room and her teachers are caring, attentive, and absolutely wonderful. My oldest, who has since gone to Kindergarten, is now enrolled in their summer 5s course. I recommend Vineyard to everyone I know.

I’m going to give this center 5 stars for their overall program from the teachers to the managers. I and my two children have only experienced kind, generous interactions from everyone. I am very thankful that they worked with us on our tuition when times were tight. The number one reason I’m giving them the high rating is for having the sound judgment to (finally) send home a child that was bullying and physically aggressive to everyone in the classroom including the teachers my kids love. I don’t pay what I pay for Ann Arbor childcare prices to send my kids to school to for that. Parents with aggressive children should be considerate of others instead of trying to play the victim.Pro’s: program, tuition, kind teachers, nice environmentCon’s: act quicker when kids bully, don’t let it go on and on for month’s

We had a great experience with the infant classroom at VCC with Tanya and Katrina. We have now moved to a different city and miss VCC very much. The director was very communicative via email and was flexible with our scheduling needs. All the caretakers were wonderful with my son and provided a nurturing and stimulating environment for him. He loved it there, and we were sad to have to say goodbye!

My kids love their teacher, Kaya, and her amazing assistant Kristen. They have a lot of patience and creative techniques to deal with all diverse kids in their classroom. The director teacher Priscilla is very understanding and is a good resource for all questions. Its a very nice place to keep ur kids at. Bless them

The director (peggy) seems like shes high all the time and inexperienced unfortunately. their staff and other parents constantly complain of herfpr a good reason, and she doesnt follow licensing rules. she needs to be fired asap as often as things are being mismanaged. already unenrolled my kid. this place is so messed up.

I enrolled my three year old son at Vineyard 5 months ago, and my 5 year old has spent the summer there as well. I couldnt have been happier with my decision to put them in VCC. I was very anxious about my three year old starting full time daycare since he hadnt had any child care experience out of our home before then. He absolutely loves his teachers and has felt comfortable there from day one (as does my 5 year old!). The teachers are all very warm and caring. I love that they incorporate a multi-cultural curriculum. The kids seem to get a great balance of physical activity and indoor time. Priscilla, the director, is incredibly responsive, and seems to me to be constantly striving to make VCC an even better place.

I would provide 0 star if I can for this place. Things to consider when you are sending your child to the childcare three things: 1) teachers qualifications 2) security; 3) communication with the director. VCC lacks all of these and future parents should make their decision carefully.Teachers dont pay attention to your child. Often they are busy saying I dont know what happened or I was not here. I understand kids can be injured and we cant prevent them all. But, how they handle the situation is poor and many times I had to ask for the incident reports.Security is something that I always look out for my child. Sometimes people do not close the doors when they enter or exit the main doors, no CCTV camera outside the daycare, stranger go into parents vehicle for burglary while dropping their kids off, and outside gate for playground can be opened by anyone. In order for children to go out to playground, they all need to go outside where the parking lot is.When new director came, one of the first thing that she did was change the age group and classes without communicating with teachers and parents. She emailed over the weekend to be effective from Monday the following week. It was chaotic as you could imagine since the teachers themselves did not know about the change. Next, my child was pulled from the daycare when I brought up an incident that my child had. Director refused to communicate via phone or in-person but, stated my child was a problem harming other children. I was never informed by other teachers that he was harming other kids to the point that he needs to be pulled. This means any of your child can be pulled from the childcare center without any warning. I hope this would help future parents to decide if they want to send their child to VCC.

Unfortunately you cannot give zero stars. We sent both our children to this center starting at 12 weeks of age and used to love it. Unfortunately, while it appears that the staff still hold the childrens well-being and development as a high priority, the same cannot be said for their director, Priscilla. If a four year old is acting out at nap time and the teacher asks for assistance, Priscilla believes the appropriate course of action is to call the parents for the child to be picked up immediately. Thats right, she suspends four year olds from daycare (we have heard that ours is not the first). She doesnt see any problem with this and doesnt seem to understand many, many more steps should be taken before that is even considered (most daycare providers would NEVER consider this appropriate). If she had shown that she understands child-development and was willing to work with children, we wouldnt have an issue. As such we pulled our children from the center. How can you trust someone with your pre-K child if she wants to treat them like a high-schooler?
