We stayed as a family, the first of August. We rented two sites, next to each other. For the positive points: Lots are very large, and very well shaded. There are tons of hiking trails, which were fun to explore. Negatives: When I called to inquire, I specifically asked about restrooms. I asked how they were. She answered, well, there are toilets and showers There are OUTHOUSES and one bathhouse on the entire premises. For me, that was huge. Since I made a point to ask, I feel she should have been honest about it. I will NOT use an outhouse! We did ask to be near the pond, but were as far away from it, as we could get, BUT that worked out to our benefit, as we had a great breeze on a hot weekend. The campground is right off the tollway road, so if the wind was coming from that direction, you hear all the traffic. That only happened one evening. I would have given a higher score, if they had been honest about the bathroom situation. Also, there are quite a number of permanent trailers there, and some are so overgrown and dumpy, they should have been removed long ago.

Love Camp Sack-In! Just got back from our 3rd annual family camp/kayak weekend. Considering a permanent spot. If your wanting all the bells and whistles, its probably not right for you. For those wanting good ol camping, family time and to leave the noise of everyday life behind, this is absolutely the place for you.😊 It is growing for sure, and noticed ALOT more weekenders (like us) this time. Some that likely havent grown up camping and know true camp etiquette, etc, as they were a bit loud and golf carts out past curfew, but, managers addressed in a timely manner. All in all, was not anything to deter us from wanting a permanent spot. Managers are great, rest of the seasonal campers are very friendly. Great community feel!

This was our second time here. Both times were very enjoyable and relaxing. Lots of shade at our site and, more importantly, the people running it were extremely nice. Its no KOA but not everyone is looking for that kind of campground. Well be back!

We pulled in just before dark and took advantage of this being one of the only places with availability on fourth of July. The camp sites are spacious and we had a great time despite everything being soaked from the rain. Firewood for purchasing wasnt kept dry which was the only thing I could possibly complain about. Other than that, place was great. Little toads were hopping around which was a big hit for my daughter and I 😂 Cute place.

Great campground, good for campers or for tents. Electric and water hookups available. Playgrounds, pond, walking trails, pavilion with events a lot of weekends (DJ, karaoke, bands, etc). First time back in years & its not as great as it was but still nice. More good people coming through would make it even better again. 💜

Sack-In is a hidden gem. As a seasonal camper there its by far the most beautiful and amazing campground ever. All of the people are very welcoming and fun. The management is top notch. Clean facilities, fun activities, a nice pond to swim or fish, live music and one heck of a fireworks display on the 4th of July!! 10 out of 10 recommend!

Very quiet cute campground. Lots of trees all throughout campsites. We had a very hard time moving our 31ft pull behind around and finding a site to back into. By the time you would get half way backed into a site my truck was too close to a tree and the angles werent right. But they were very helpful and friendly moving us around until we were comfortable and parked. Great swimming area. Very shaded. We will go back now we know what site we want!!

I had high hopes for this campground, its set back in the woods and seems like a perfect place for a campground, but…it all went downhill after the check in. The roads are washed out with huge ruts in them and lots of mud. There are no signs pointing you in the right direction and you cant tell whats a road and whats not. Once we finally located our site we realized it was almost impossible to get into it with a 30’ trailer. Luckily the site across the road was empty so I pulled in there and backed straight into ours (while powering through the ruts). The electricity and water is shared between the two sites so it was on the wrong side of our camper, but within reach. Didnt take long to see our seasonal/permanent neighbor lets his grey water just leak out onto the ground and drain down toward our site. All weekend long I watched this grey water pool up right in front of our site. This place is more like a rundown trailer park than anything else. They do have a nice activity area with basketball and volleyball courts. However, the basketball hoop looks like it is ready to fall off and the volleyball court is overgrown with grass where there used to be sand. There is a small putt-putt golf course but it is not maintained and unplayable. While walking back from playing catch with my son (they do have a very nice grassy field for this sort of thing) we spotted one of the “locals” taking a pee in front of his truck during the live band performance. Didn’t seem to bother him that we were walking by nor that there were several other kids playing very nearby in the basketball court. Only dealt with the staff at check-in and she seemed to be friendly, I had no other interaction with the staff. We also didn’t use any of their facilities so I cannot comment on those. Our site was fairly small and had one of the (dumpy) cabins behind it so I had people walking and driving golf carts right behind our camper the whole weekend. There were some nicer looking, and larger, sites but we were crammed into a little site with a disgusting neighbor so it ruined the whole experience. Do yourself a favor and stay away. There’s a reason they had plenty of availability on Labor Day weekend.

Owners are great! Camping spot was close to the pond & was great. The thing that botheredwas the people in golf carts. I felt like I was at the 500 race. Some would go so fast that it stirred up the dust which didnt help trying to camp. They had a jam session on Sat night & a band on Sun night. We are non smokers and I couldnt believe all the smokers that were there especially with little kids running around. We left early Sat night & stayed until the 50/50 draw on Sun night & then left. Band had to take a half hour smoke break.Over all we had a good time just wont go to any entrainment if we come back. Really sad that smokers dont have any respect for the non smokers. Really sad when you are outside & the smoke still bothers you!

I rented the cabin this past weekend. It was a horrible experience. Would not recommend renting the cabin. The site it sits on is just atrocious. You have to walk on a steep hill with tree roots just to get to firepit. There was a run down shed of some sort sitting next to site that made you feel like you were sitting in the slums. The mattress on the bed should have been replaced years ago. The whole park model trailer (cabin) is uneven and you are walking uphill inside it. You also could see water damage on all the walls about 2 up the walls. Neither air conditioners worked properly and no screen on sliding glass door. The railing on steps was loose and ready to fall off. You also have to supply your own linens. The restrooms in bathhouse were also bad, one plugged up with feces in it the other toilet seat broken off. For paying over $180.00 for 2 nights I got ripped off. Also no kind of activity unless you play horseshoes. Will not recommend and will not return. Go down the road to Pokagon State Park. Cheaper, nicer and more fun! Also roads inside cap ground horrible, would not take a decent camper in there unless you want it ruined.
