Love this place. I am very thankful for the state of South Carolina for giving others opportunities to make a difference in this world. When people have more compassion for those with disabilities and help them learn different jobs to help them be productive is the best thing you can do. I love the receptionist. She is a doll.

I am a parent with a 9 year old high functioning autistic son. Recently we have been having really bad issues with his behavior. He has been lashing out and being physical towards us both and with other kids in our house we needed help and advice on the best options for him in this situation. AMY ZHU has been his coordinator for years and up until recently we haven’t needed very much help but we reached out and she came for a home visit so we can go over a plan and check out additional resources. When she arrived she was very hostile about anything we asked and did NOT provide us with any solutions. In fact she told us if we cannot handle his behaviors we can put him up for adoption or drop him off at the hospital. She was extremely unprofessional and had ZERO empathy for our situation. She also stated she has tons of kids on her case load and did not even remember seeing him last year and stated she hadn’t seen him since 2012! We requested to move providers and got a call from someone named Cori over her and she stated she could just move us to another coordinator and she did apologize and could not believe how AMY ZHU acted. To top the situation off AMY ZHU sent a email to her boss and accidentally CC’ed my sons mother on it and in the email stated we don’t appreciate our son and we don’t have any follow through and she wishes she could take him. Bottom line is stay clear of this disabilities board and if you have no other choice do not use AMY ZHU as a coordinator. Her demeanor and unprofessionalism is atrocious and despicable and she should not be working with parents if she cannot empathize with the parents. All children on the spectrum are different and have different needs and she does not seem to know that.
