We did our application, it went through and they did pay our rent for two months and electric bill once. However they said three months for everything. We sent the water bill to them after they said to email it once we receive it. A month goes by and we never get email, or call back after leaving several voicemails. Our water got cut off. We go to the office and they were rude and said no to paying anything after they originally said they were going to help us. Told us to go elsewhere. They asked why we waited till last minute but we didn’t, we tried to get their attention for a month.

Every time we have come here to get help, they couldnt help us for one reason or another, with the exception of one time. We left here and went to Share, who helped us beyond what we thought. They paid our past due power bill, and even paid the current bill, catching us up completely.

Its nice that people have this to come too.I recently learned that they do not help people living in a hotel though.People live at the time where they can.Thats not a fair stipulation. Thanks for helping in the community.

Never had help from these people a day in my life. My first experience with them was horrible. They provide assistance twice a year for familys in need. I went up there to get help with a light bill. They made me sign an agreement that said if I completed a works program and a meeting with Voc Rehab that I would have my light bill paid. So I went to the work program meeting 1st Wednesday. And on the second Wednesday I had my meeting for Voc Rehab. But my light bill was never paid they had me to commit to these programs saying that they were going to provide me with assistance. I did exactly what they told me to do for them to tell me that they dont have funds well why didnt they tell me that before I went through this program or before they asked me to sign an agreement that they were going to do so. I wouldnt ask them for pot to piss in if you can help it

My Church and most especially in the lower part of my town place funds to help the community into this agencys awesomely capable, well organized, helpful, professional, and so kindhearted local volunteer ran agency! You can walk in to this place and ask for any kind of help without ever having to worry about being judged. They do offer financial advice along with their help, and if they either dont have funds available at that time or it is not something they handle, they will be sure to get you to the place that they have listed as being able to help with your situation. They have a food bank available at all times and also help single parents in need of anything including helping with education and vehicle maintenance for school and work also make sure the kids have a safe environment while the parent or parents are achieving the goals of getting their family financially stable! If you are in need of their services then is a great place to donate money or time as always needed, because I know I have been on both sides of the fence!

You may have to go there at 7-8 a.m. and get in line but its worth it. You will get food that is fresh and clean and especially fresh vegetables and fruits and breads to fill your panty for almost a month

Update, My air conditioner went out on July 30th, 2019 and I went to AIM for assistance. A lady there told me that they would help me get the assistance that I needed and she took my personal information, to get the application started. One of the things that they do is basically act as the middleman for government grants, to make home repairs or to make your home more energy efficient. My application sat on her desk for about two months, according to her, before she came out to my residence to take pictures of ALL of the air conditioner vents, because they required her to, but really so she could look at the inside of my house and see if she thought I really needed the grant. In the meantime I was never offered any window units or anything through the very hot weather and I wasnt offered anything for heat, when it got cold in November. I wasnt able to get in touch with my contact at AIM, but instead I was passed off to a new hire, which really did want to help me. In December the new girl called me and told me that my contact asked her to let me know that my application was rejected because my home is valued above their grant limits and that was the end of it. I never seen the application, I never signed any documents and I never seen the rejection letter. How do I know that there ever was an application with my name on it?

Awful customer service. I called to see about getting energy assistance payment for an elderly family member and the guy who answered the phone immediately asked me if I knew the luxury of living in govt assisted housing? Firstly, it was for my elderly aunt who lives in HUD housing for the disabled/elderly. She is on a fixed income and cannot afford her payment. He didnt ask me any questions about the situation behind needing assistance. He automatically assumed that it was for me and said to me: most people do not appreciate the luxury of not having to pay full rent so their board of directors decided... I stopped him in mid-sentence and reiterated the point that I was only seeking an assistance agency and if they did not provide assistance then we did not have anything to discuss. I have donated food and clothing over the years but NEVER EVER again! I am done with AIM...if they are not here to help the people of the community, then what is their purpose? They should be shut down PERMANENTLY!!
