This review is long overdue, but I cannot say enough good things about Kindred. My father came home from the hospital and lived with us for 2 months. He was in very bad shape. He could not speak clearly and could not walk without a walker. In 2 months, the Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists returned him to his pre-hospital condition. It was truly amazing!

Talk about a little known gem! I had a shoulder replacement surgery done at GHS Pelham. At 46 I was told I was the youngest to have it done. I was blessed, you see, I am a disabled war vet. My insurances allows me to see private doctors. My surgeon and I had an agreement. I make choices regarding my surgery and physical therapy. I chose not to be injected for a year, with steroids, just to buy time. And when I contacted my first choice, for physical therapy, I was told my doctor’s office had to call. Again, my choices mean, you go through me first. I want to know if we are a fit. So, I contacted Kindred at Home. And I do thank God for that decision. I truly do. They exceeded even my expectations! My recovery was a monster. Even after 7 surgeries, you can never get used to it. My initial contact with Kindred at Home was very very pleasant. And this is somewhat rare. You are treated by people who actually care here. It comes through their voice. They got my information over the phone. They contacted my surgeon. They double checked the information on my orders. They noticed that my surgery was the typical surgery. They went through a muscle that had stay immobile for a month. Thus making PT much harder. They came to my home and introduced themselves. Jason Himdman and Lauren Chastain were phenomenal! They were professional. They were extremely knowledgeable with my type of shoulder replacement surgery. We went over the orders and steps we were going to take. Lauren was my primary occupational shoulder therapist. It’s hard to describe how they accomplish so much, so darn fast without a lot of pain. My surgeon had a range set for a certain number of weeks. He was astounded, no kidding, by how much I could do in such a short time. He said I exceeded his expectations, for that type of surgery. He rechecked my surgery date, even! Lol! To the degree that he did not need to see me in 3 months. I will see him in a year. The team, at Kindred at Home (Lauren Chasitain & Jason Hindman) were some of the most gentle therapists. I’ve had several. Lauren would never allow me to be in pain, when she worked with my shoulder. And she didn’t take my word for it. She watched my facial expressions. There were days where she couldn’t do more than move it around herself. She would not allow me to rush it. If there was ever a need, no matter what day or time, if I called with pain or concern, Lauren or Jason would stop by to check on my shoulder. When my IceMan was not working properly, Lauren called it in. And Jason showed me how to make homemade ice packs until my unit was replaced. I say all of this because, they literally got me back on track way ahead of time. And stood by me every step of the way. I never imagined I would get to where I am now after that surgery. So thank you Kindred at Home for your awesome services!
