I started going to Dr. Sheikh 19 years ago, when I first developed Ulcerative Colitis and no one else had been able to diagnose me. He has been an excellent doctor, very knowledgeable, thorough, and personable.

I needed a medical procedure done asap as I was bleeding internally. They said their next available appointment was in two and half months! Are you kidding me? If I waited to be seen by these people I would have bled to death two months before my appointment! AnMed is awful. They have no compassion and dont care if you bleed out waiting for an appointment! Their ER is also a joke. Nothing but recent college interns on staff. Their ER is a glorified doctors office that cant treat more than the common cold or fever. No wonder GHS didnt want to buy them! Go to Greenville if you need anything major done!

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Sheikh and his team. All of the are dedicated, compassionate, reliable, knowledgeable, and always there for my family. I have been a patient of his for many years now, and I know that if it hadnt been for him and his medical assistant Cheri, I wouldnt be where I am today.

Not happy with Dr. Sheikh after this last visit. Ill explain more and edit this review after I get some rest. Needless to say I left his office in tears and cried all the way home and continued to cry for 2 hours after that. Its been a week and 2 days later and I am still upset by that appointment. Its still bothering me a great deal so best believe I am going to follow this up in extreme detail. The sad thing is I liked and respected Dr sheikh until he moved to AnMed with the last 2 visits I have had, but especially this last visit. Otherwise the rest of the staff are very nice, warm, and welcoming. If you take pain meds for long or short term, then find another doctor cause long story short, he will blame all symptoms on that without even running tests first to eliminate other causes first. There is at least one other review on health grades very similar to my story and that person was on pain meds very short term and started their regimen after their symptoms came into play from my understanding. No one said pain meds are peaches and cream, but he seems to have some personal vendetta against them and anyone who NEEDS or HAS to take them. Id understand this if he felt this towards recreational abusers, but this isnt the case here. In his words pain meds are a scam and apparently no one should be on them. He doesnt seem to care if their pain is severe or not. He has me to the point where idI rather suffer and am scared to even be seen anymore since everything gets chalked up to pain meds usage. For all we know, it could be something very treatable so I can quit suffering, but who knows since he assumes pain meds is the root cause first then sets up an endoscopy. Shouldnt a doctor run tests first and exhaust all options BEFORE making a determination, especially one such as this? Symptoms of other GI issues and pain meds can be similar and even overlap after all.
