Dr. Danielle Shelley is a great OB/GYN. After she does my exam, she then has me get dressed. Dr. Shelley then meets with me in her office. She discussed my concerns in a very easy-to-understand way and even showed me pictures. Dr. Shelley really took her time and she answered any questions I had. My appointment in no way felt rushed. Her patients are very important to her. I feel extremely grateful that she is my doctor.

This doctor does not care about you personally would not recommend her to anyone. During all my visits its mainly been her talking or giving irrelevant information to me about how the hospital is doing with this virus going on. Very rarely has she truley expressed concern for my well being during my pregnacy.

Thankfully, I personally am not a patient of Dr. Shelleys, but my sister-and-law was. Today, she is switching to a new Dr. due to a phone conversation she had with Dr. Shelley last night. After experiencing a miscarriage about 18 months ago, she is expecting again. She experienced some heavy spotting last night, so she called the after hours line because she was worried something might be wrong. Dr. Shelley (her personal Dr.) happened to be on call. Dr. Shelley treated my sister-in-law like an inconvenience and was very condescending. She actually said whatever is going to happen is going to happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. She didn’t offer to explain the possible causes and made her feel like she shouldn’t schedule an appointment to get checked by stating that she could come in if she really wanted to. I understand things happen and we can’t control them, but treating an expecting mother (whose already been through hell with one miscarriage) with so little compassion and hostility shocked me. As an Obstetrician I feel like Dr. Shelley should have more tact, patience, and respect when dealing with situations like these.

If you have Medicaid, dont use her. I went to her when I was pregnant with my first child. I was five months along at my first visit. When Dr.Shelley asked why I waited so long, I told her I had issues with Medicaid. After that, she turned into a mean girl, sarcasm, eye rolling and acting like she didnt want me there. Dr.Shelley didnt take my care seriously, When Dr.Shelley said I had fibroids, I told her I was unfamiliar and asked her to tell me what it means. I was told, Ive seen them so bad that people almost die and then some arent as bad. Her nursing staff made a mistake with my labs and she blamed me, using sarcasm, only to find out it was their fault. Dr.Shelley apologized profusely, because of the tone she used, and told me to get my labs done at the childrens hospital instead of the main hospital even though both hospitals use the same lab. When I asked Dr.Shelley about delivering my son, she told me we would talk about it when the due date got closer. I gave birth to my son one week before the due date with no guidance on delivery from her. We didnt talk about epidural or anything. Another thing was that none of my visits lasted more than 10 minutes but I would hear her in the room beside me being so friendly, talking about barbeque and laughing. As soon as she came to my room, no conversation. Dr.Shelley was in and out every single time. I also had a coworker who had similar things to say about Dr.Shelley. My coworker said that she had issues with swelling and Dr.Shelley told her dont wear flip flops. Needless to say, she didnt go back when she had her second child and neither did I. There is more to my story. I wrote this review because a lot of people get substandard treatment. My pregnancy was a healthy one but women die from having babies when their doctors act this way. All of this was done in a nice nasty way. There is absolutely no way I would recommend Dr.Shelley because she gives the best care to the patients that she likes and brushes off the ones she doesnt. This is unacceptable. In my opinion, Dr.Shelley is bias. There is no room for that in the medical profession. I hope this review will help someone make a better decision about their care. My son is almost 4 now. I regret two things, not going to another doctor in the beginning and not reporting her. I hope this isnt an issue for anyone else but if it is, find another doctor, dont wait for something to happen because women are dying from child birth partially because their physicians are ignoring signs of complications. The only reason I gave her one star was because zero wasnt an option.
