Aurora Family Dentistry was excellent. For a person who is extremely hesitant to set foot in a dentist office they made me feel welcomed and safe. My dentist and I developed a comprehensive plan on how to approach my care and they were very helpful developing a schedule that worked for my budget.

I love this dentist. I’ve been going here since I moved to Alaska about six years ago. They’re always so friendly and professional. Office is always clean and updated. Their front desk has always gone above and beyond tracking downinfo for me for my network providers. Cleanings and fillings have always gone quickly and nicely. The dentists are kind and make you feel remembered and known. I had a checkup just the other day for a tooth I had been concerned about- I came prepared to pay cash because of not currently having dental insurance. Then they surprised me at the end of my visit with waving the fees. I don’t expect this every time of course, but what a gift in these crazy times with jobs being lessened due to the pandemic. I’ll never switch dentists, that’s for sure!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great at explaining what they were doing during my exam and cleaning so I would be able to understand. The dentist I saw made sure to give me all the options I had for getting a tooth fixed, and what the benefits and downfalls would be for each option but left the decision up to me in the end. Good atmosphere, will definitely keep them as my dentist office.

He did a crown for me a while ago, and it fits perfectly and feels like a natural tooth. He is also incredibly kind and thorough. The front office is amazing too, as are the hygienists. I really appreciate the service and expertise I receive at Aurora. Very friendly staff. Molly, my hygienist, really knew my history (first time with her) and she followed up on past concerns. I was really impressed. Then she put this desensitizing paste on my teeth because she had read how sensitive my teeth are. I must say, that REALLY made a difference while she was cleaning my teeth. Dr. Scott Lyke came in for my exam and I always appreciate how thorough he is. When something is wrong, he explains all options. Cant say enough good things about him and his practice!

Wait and see and keep an eye on it are also in their vocabulary. No pressure, no hurry - I feel like the staff truly believes the most important person in the room is the patient in front of them. I have tried several other dentists in town and love this practice. They are incredibly helpful, proactively checking with insurance, getting me in when an emergency (or two) - all pleasantly and efficiently. The dentists are very competent and are focused on long term dental health as well as addressing specific issues. In addition, having paid for crowns out of pocket, their prices was several hundred dollars less than another practice I used. I am very pleased to have found them.

The dentist is my least favorite chore and Aurora made it as painless as possible from start to finish. The office staff were friendly and knowledgable! They were excellent when helping answer my insurance questions and scheduling. The dental technician that took my scans and checked my teeth was more than patient and kind while answering my questions about the process and what was happening while I was in her care and the dentist that went over my scans with me made finding out that my wisdom teeth need to come out a lot less scary. I am thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of their team and the great things they had to say about the people they work for.

Every single person I interacted with was friendly and helpful. They are up to date on technology and send me email reminder so I can put it on my calendar and they will send texts reminding me of upcoming appointments. It makes it easy to remember to go.

My husband and I have been going to Aurora for over 6 years and we are very pleased. I have lived all over the country and have had many bad experiences with dentist but finding this office when we moved to AK was wonderful. Both Dr Lykes are great! Highlights: nice office, safe location, professional staff, always on time, dental hygienists and techs are very friendly, conservative dental approach (not trying to fill or crown everything), close to downtown and our work locations.

This place was definitely friendly and the people were easy to talk to. The people there were happy to help and helpful with any questions I had. I had fun laughing with the dentist and having a good time (without the laughing gas😆). All in all, it had a great atmosphere and was definitely inviting. I enjoyed it very much!

He makes it a priority that you are comfortable and strives to ease any fears or worries. The front desk folks are great.
