Dr. Roy is condescending and doesnt listen at all to what you tell her. I prefer doctors who want to partner with their patients on their health. I have had high calcium numbers for over 14 years and she had my Parathyroid Hormone levels tested twice and both came back elevated. So she sent me to do a Sestambi neck scan to try and see if a tumor was there. It came back negative. However, in my research I had found that Sestambi only catches parathyroid tumors in 40% of cases and that the calcium and PTH levels are more indicative of a problem. How dare I say such a thing! She refused to get a DEXA scan to check for osteoporosis caused by parathyroid disease (because I was 49 not 50 years old) or do anything more. I left Kaiser because of HER and have since found out I likely have a parathyroid tumor with surgery and DEXA scan being scheduled immediately! My current doctor could not believe her ignorance or willingness to listen to me and my labs. Shame on you Dr. Roy!
