I took my daughter in and originally had an appointment as well, but after a long day I asked if they could just take care of her. The doctor noticed my glasses, and that the nose buds were missing, while my daughter got her frames, they took the time to fix my glasses, and asked for nothing in return. After the day I had had that meant a whole lot, and was very kind.

Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. The doctor was quick with his exam but not rushing through it. The man who helped me pick out new glasses frames explained what he thought people should look for in frames and helped me try on a wide variety of frames until I had the right one. Highly recommend.

The staff at Ames Vision Center is very knowledgeable about their clients and what frames fit them best. You can tell they really care about their clients! They are so welcoming each and every time I visit them. They are not at all pushy when I can not make a decision on a frame, and they don’t get annoyed when I ask a ton of questions. I would recommend them to everyone, what a great experience!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They realize people have budgets and help you stay in it. I feel they went above and beyond to help me and my family. The doctor is very friendly and personable. Clean atmosphere great place! highly recommend!

Received 5 star service today from both Jon, the person who answered the phone, and Dr Anderson. Not very often does the doctor hop on the phone when you call a place to get details of the problem/concern. Very impressed and will definitely revisit when I have a need for eye care.

I had the most complete eye exam, the dr explained what he was looking for as we went along. But I cant say enough good things about is the gentleman who helped me to choose my frames. I cant ever see to pick, but with his amazing help, i am happier than ever. Great experience!

Even though Ive moved to WDM, Ankeny, and DSM, Ive consistently come back here every year for like 5 years for my check ups cus the people are personable, helpful, and they genuinely care about you and your eye health.

Wasted an insured optometrist visit here last year. My distance vision is poor and I clearly needed glassed, yet the doctor claimed my vision was good enough to not need a prescription. My fiancé was in the exam room and watched me read 3/5 letters wrong on one of the tests, but the doctor exclaimed good job and moved on.Then, after saying I didnt need glasses, they tried selling me on contacts instead. I was adamant that I didnt want contacts, but the doctor put one in my eye WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I was then stuck with the contact in my eye for 15 minutes trying to get it out while the doctor and a sales rep tried to convince me to buy contacts.In the end, I was left with an inaccurate prescription and poor vision. Find a different optometrist if you care about your eyes.

Horrible and unreliable service. Very disorganized and unwilling to help their customers. I went in for an eye exam and provided a copy of my insurance card and after saying they accept it, a week or so later I receive a bill after being reassured many times they accept my insurance and it will be handled. My plan covers a free exam. Glad to be doing my eye care through more reliable places in Ames now.

I’ve lived in Ames for 6 years and throughtout that time Ive interacted with multiple eye/ glasses businesses. The customer service I have received as well as the products they offer at Ames Vision Center is simply fantastic. I absolutely recommend them to anyone whos looking for assistance with their vision.
