The ladies at DWC were invited for a Mothers Day dinner and received gift bags full of gifts. The dinner was great and we had a fun time. Thank you to all who made it happen for my girls.❤

I lived here when I needed a place, I worked here when I needed a job. Thank you for everything you have done for me and more. Everyone tho times are bad right now, this is the place to help you get back on your feet.

They certainly do NOT help the homeless. Only low income, and only certain ones at that.

When I was at the Amarillo Salvation Army, I had a bed and we had dinner. The part about staying there at first was kinda hard to get use to. Try to be in bed by lights out, then you lay there hearing other people calphing, talking and their music playing off their phones. Now after about the second month I was able to handle it. Now around January I started valintering. I did that for the whole month of January till about the second week of February. The staff there are alright and the security guards so respect.

Major Carpenter is the worst thing to happen to this location. So many staff issues I cant list them all. Overdoses regularly on the mens side.Poor training and lack of well paid employees lead to neglect and abuse of the clients at this location. Police reports show ppl being locked out in freezing temperatures having to call police to let them in while staff does whatever they want.Clients went without water for weeks at this location due to poor management choices. I personally called the health department and city.I am a homeless advocate and it was made clear Major Carpenter did not want to be held responsible for any if the choices made by staff including but not limited to himself. I have contacted the Lt Kernels office and was told meanwhile, Major announced his departure from this location as of last week.PRAISE GOD!I personally do not recommend this shelter for these and many other reasons not listed. This is my opinion posted as a review not to be used against me in any legal way! :)

I would have to say, that the staff, monitors, and some of the supervisors, do not follow the Salvation Army mission statement at all. This is supposed to be a place to help families in there time of need, and to encourage us to better ourselves, but its not like that. We are treated like were locked up in jail. Stereotyped and profiled cause of other people. And if a problem is taken to Supervisor, they downgrade you. I would love to meet the Head Person and allow him or her to see what goes on, and offer my input or work here to truly be a beacon of the Salvation Army mission statement.

I stayed here for a few months and the rules are never consistent. I didnt get a pillow the first month I was there and they also refused to give me blankets when I ask for them. It is a dirty hole in the wall that needs renovations and Better Staffing

They were good for me but they do need to update. They need to always have someone on hand when its time to let everyone to go the next day. A lot of these people have nowhere to go when they say its time to leave. Its sad.

It may be a good place to get shelter as homeless but I find they do not provide much help towards getting back to a means of survival and job assistance.

Ro

There is a women there name Linda she is cruel and humiliates the people that come there to get the services they provide because she hates people. Maybe just the people that come there because she looks at them as trash. I refuse to eat when that evil women is working I rather starve! Staff know she like that too so I have to assume they condone her treatment of us. People like that make me ashamed of serving this country!

They take on one of greatest challenges of helping a lot of poor, oppressed, & needy who have fallen on bad times. They have rules which are necessary, but they still help those who help themselves.

Review №34

This place doesnt have the resources it claims to and most of the staff has horrible attitudes and is very rude. Theres people doing drugs inside the shelter and they serve expired food. The donations are rarely given to the people who stay there and when they are its usually very little. I wouldnt recommend staying there to anyone.
