I like everyone else, received a bill ($27.00) from a collection agency, when I have never received a bill from High Plains, nor have I ever heard of this company. Some of their google review previous replies have stated they are often given incorrect contact information for patients. If they have my address to give to a collection agency, they surely should have had my address to send me a bill. When I called to inquire they told me they couldnt give me any information, my file was closed and sent to collections, and I needed to contact the collection agency. When I contacted the collection agency, they told me they had no information other than that I had been sent to their collection agency. After contacting my insurance company I was informed they were in fact contracted with a local hospital that I had visited over 6 months ago. High Plains had incorrectly coded my claim, and I should have never received a bill from them in the first place. Miraculously, they were able to access my file, and told my insurance company they had sent me a bill monthly (NOT TRUE). I have contacted the hospital that contracts with High Plains and let them know what a unprofessional company this is.

Once again, I am another person that got a notice from a collection agency (Account Recovery Services). I am familiar with High Plains Radiological Association, and have paid them directly in the past. I did not receive a bill for this amount of $23.43, if they can re-produce the actual statement I will be happy to pay. // ADDENDUM EDIT // After their response (below) I waited patiently - no statement was ever produced and my name was probably not the patient on the bill (if it exists) so not sure how they might claim to know my address on file.

I too received a collection notice for $42.00 without first receiving a bill. When I called I was told that likely my account was sent to collections while they were processing insurances part of the bill. It is hard to pay a bill you dont know you have. Bad billing practices.

I have never received a bill and have a hit on my credit report for $27. I have never been to any clinic in Amarillo, ever. This seems to be a scam for me since their website is not working and I cant seem to get ahold of anyone to even discuss this $27 account.

Ive had the same issue as Im seeing every single one of the others complain of...received a statement from a collection agency for a very small amount. Never previously received a bill or written statement from them until it went to collections. HPRA, yall please check on your billing dept. I am thinking they need some attention in order to take better care of business!

I have a hard hit on my credit from this place for a debt of $33 from 2018! I’ve never heard of this place. Never received a bill. I would have paid it had I received it. I also don’t even know what it could have been for! Does anyone know if I can dispute this two years later? I didn’t even realize it was on my credit till recently and again, I have absolutely no idea what it is and definitely never received a bill for it. Considering that I see so many others having similar issues, I would think something would be done about this place!! This is ridiculous!

I received a statement in the mail, paid it over the phone, and was STILL sent a collections letter. Absolutely ridiculous.

They may have good radiologists, but if their practice is like their billing process, they must be questionable. The billing system only deals with summaries and arbitrary on how and when they communicate with the patient. You may or may not get a correct bill. You will not receive an itemized statement of even which insurance company paid and when. Then they expect you to decipher their intent. They may or may not send you the correct amount you are to pay. Their option. Then they will sendall or part of an amount you owe to the collectors without first notifying you. Even the collectors could not figure out their process and the correct amount owed. When they contacted the practice they did not know why they did what they did nor could they compute the correct amount owed. The billing function is elementary and confusing even with the staff. If it is possible do not have your radiology read by this practice, not because of the physicians but because of the billing process.

The same thing has happened to me. I did not receive a bill until Acct Recovery mails me one. No other type of communication from them at all. I call the Acct Recovery number and they tell me my bal of $20.03 is too small to pay over the phone and that I have to mail it in. Totally ridiculous. I would have gladly paid this bill if I had known it was due. High Plains says they can’t talk to me about it.

I like everyone else received no bill. Never heard or even knew there was a separate charge as the hospital said I was paid up. Not only did they send me to collection but they didnt even have the decency to charge my insurance first. So now almost a year later I have to see if I can get them to still pay for it. I would drive out of my way in the future to avoid this company at all coat. They should be shut down

Received a notice from Account Recovery Services that my bill of less than $11.00!!! had been placed for collections, from a service that was over a year ago. A bill I never saw, never sent to my home. No phone call. Their billing department is in another state, and unable to help. Said they had sent two bills in a 15-month time span, then sent to collections, and now cannot access it. Two bills. Somewhere in a 15 MONTH SPAN, they claim, yet the collections people had no problem.

I never received a bill in the mail and I was sent a collections letter. When I called to verify the address was up to date and the service date of the bill they told me they could not discuss the account due to policy. I would have to contact the collections company. Horrible service and ridiculous policies. It’s terrible BSA partners with this company.

Like others who have posted here this place reeks of shady business practices. I never saw a bill from them and then I get one from ARS for 15 bucks. They refused to take a payment from my card to settle the debt. I have decided to hire a lawyer....as clearly someone needs to teach these people that you dont treat people this way. I would have happily paid my debt if I had been sent a bill. This absolutely reeks of a scam.

This place does not seem to be legitimate. I have never heard of this place but they sent my supposed “bill” to collections without sending me a “bill” and now they refuse to give me any information as to why I would owe their company money. I have never heard of their company. I have never even been to Amarillo. They said that I need to call the collection company to get info and pay the collection company. Of course, I had already called the collection company (again, Amarillo) and they only gave me the name of High Plains.

I was sent a collection letter from Account Recovery Services, Inc. that said I owed money to High Plains Radiological Assn. This is the first time I have gotten a bill or anything from this place. I never go to the doctor so I dont even know what it could be from. I think its a scam!

My MRI report was sent to them for reading. They sent my bill to the wrong insurance agency which was naturally declined. Then without taking the trouble of contacting me, they reported me to account recovery agency! This must be one of my most frustrating experience!

Worst customer service. My son has Medicaid and they failed to send my insurance or myself a bill. They also had my phone number to contact me to collect payment, but never utilized that resource as well. I received a call from a collections agency instead. And now they are saying there is nothing they can do.
