A COMPLETE JOKE of a dentist. Went there last year to get a tooth pulled, paid almost $400. Only to find out this year that they screwed up. While pulling that tooth they scraped the neighboring tooth and a part of the filling came off. After going to a different dentist for pain, they discovered the filling piece is in fact UNDER the line of the healed up spot. It shows up on the xray! Great.... stay away from Familia Dental, otherwise other dentists have to clean up their messes for them

I arrived to my sons and daughters appointments and front desk lady told me I needed a mask. I had forgotten mine and she told me to reschedule! I live an 1 hour and 20 minutes away!!! She said she couldn’t give me a mask. Do not recommend.

This place is pretty great. I took all 5 of my kids as new patients and the staff was very friendly and willing to help. I would recommend this place for sure! Very friendly, fast, and professional service.

I think this place rocks. Dr Alvarado was super sweet and the assistants were really nice. I think everyone was very friendly. I will say the building is really old and needs a lot of updates. I will be back and I will tell my friends about this hidden gem!

Wow this place exceeded my expectations!! I am on Medicaid and I thought I would be treated poorly and that was not the case! I needed a night guard and I figured they wouldn’t help me with one since my insurance didn’t cover it but they made it for me and made it so affordable 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I hated coming here. Ive been coming here since I was a child because the staff would watch tv while doing their work and I would often get stabbed or mistakes would be made. I have noticed that there has been a large change in staff and my experience has changed significantly. Jamie Chavez and the other staff have been exceptional. They explained everything and made sure I was comfortable. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends and family. If you went in the past and had a bad experience, everyone is new, friendly and you should try coming again because the experience is completely different.

I had a broken and rotted tooth my number 19 molar and they were so helpful and they explained everything as they went along and before we even got started. Dr. Alvarado was absolutely the sweetest little lady and very descriptive to her coworkers as to what tools she needed and how and why she was doing certain movements and techniques. They are actually fair price wise if you dont have insurance. Definitely recommend anyone who doesnt have insurance to come here and let them take care of you.

Extremely unorganized. Planned appointments weeks in advance for my 2 young children, dealt with the insurance and they told me everything is good to go. We get to the appointment and have to wait 5 minutes just to check in, then they say were set and we sit down filling out paperwork. All of a sudden theres a problem and now they need to see the insurance cards when they had just told us that they didnt need them because they got it all situated the week before. In the end wasted an hour of my time in the office with a 1 and 3 year old not happy about waiting around. Wouldnt recommend this place, it seems like theyre attempting to deal with more than they can handle or dont understand insurance properly enough to help their patients. Ill be finding a different dentist.

What a joke. 10 am appointment, walked in 20 minutes early to get new patient paperwork completed. Over an hour later I still hadnt been called back. Receptionist not wearing a mask, no protections in place against COVID spread. Every form has typos and they violate HIPAA standards by asking treatment questions by calling out across the lobby. Kept blaming everything on the call center and the computer system. Completely disorganized and disinterested. Tempted to sue for my lost time.

Would not recommend this place if your in pain. The first visit is pain management they give you meds and send you on your way no fixes and definitely no temporary fixes to get you through.

They did a root canal a couple years ago the crown fell off. They didnt either set the crown right or did the mold right. I went to my appointment the Dentist didnt even go talk to me. He sent his assistant! She told me that the root canal they did had to be extracted because it turned into a big cavity underneath my crown. They referred me to another dentist. Same thing happened to my 6 year old. Plus they have different dentists all the time. Another thing they will be working on more than one patient at a time. I think they should refund my money for the bad work they have done...I will never go back there or my family..

They scheduled me for an appointment and everything was good to go. Come to find out a couple days before my appointment they called me and told me the doctor is leaving to partner up out of state and I no longer have an appointment. Maybe not schedule patients if your planning to move. Maybe not have your patients cancel plans and work to make time for the appointment. Idk how high of an iq you have to have in order to realize this but I guess foresight and common courtesy isnt their forte.

Worst experience with a professional dentistry establishment ever!! I called and MADE AN APPOINTMENT to be seen on a Saturday at 330p. I arrived 15 minutes early due to being a new customer and the office was closed!! I was at a loss for words.... I had a toothache that was so bad i couldnt think straight and with an abscess I found out after having no other choice but to go to an emergency room to get some type of help on a SATURDAY at 330 p.mI even received a verification txt 2 hrs before my appt that day.... and when I called the office number I received a call center that wasnt even close to Amarillo and he had no answers just pressured me to reschedule...I would strongly suggest avoiding the headache and toothache of choosing this establishment. Go local or at least a chain thats well established and dependable. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. If I can report them to BBB I will.

Dr. Padilla is caring and does a great job in orthodontics... I am satisfied with the end result after removing my braces... This place has made some improvements since she came into the office. Thanks

I do not recommend this place to go get your teeth done or braces they Always changing my time on my appointment the last minute and they only have one orthodontist working there and she’s only available every month,so when your braces are hurting you you have to wait until she’s available.

I was a little disappointed when I had to have a tooth pulled but they explained it very well and considering after that I had to have it pulled out because we were traveling thru and I couldnt come back for a root canal.They took me in right away without any hesitations, Was nervous and the Nurse kinda put me at ease, the only thing she said was the shots were going to hurt and she was not kidding it HURT LIKE HELL the Doctor had the tooth pulled out within 5 minutes.I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

In June I had 4 teeth removed, 2 wisdom teeth and 2 molars. No anesthesia or laughing gas despite signing a paper that I believe discussed my options involving it. Because according to Dr. Lee they dont do that here. Numbing shots were all I had, I had an anxiety attack before they started. They had to break my molars apart to take them out. I was prescribed strong painkillers after, but thats it. My mouth was in so much pain once the shots wore off. Is this legal?

Dr Lee is amazing. Great ability to comfort uncomfortable kids. Great vibe setting environment and highly recommended for the indecisive seekers who are seeking a family dentist.

It is always fast and easy at Familia Dental. I love these folks. They take great care of me!

Back in 2011 they had a respectable team of dentists, they fixed my cavities. Now back in 2020 they have no good team, the standing dentist there jammed his tool to check for cavities right into my tooth to where his hand began shaking. My tooth started to ache softly for 3 days after, I went to another doctor told me it was just discoloration. I can not recommend this place and their practise any further. Its terrible they would forgo something so irreversible like a filling just to make a quick buck.

So far pretty good, have to come in this morning for root canal. Guess top front teeth been wearing away, so likely be PAYING more visits in the future!

My son likes this dentist. He will not go anywhere else. When they pulled his tooth, they were fast and very kind. He is hearing impaired with other issues, but the whole staff treats him with respect and are very understanding. I definitely will refer family and friends.

My first visit the Dentist didn’t go over anything. The assistant told me the treatment plan and couldn’t answer questions. I had the root canal done and the Dentist burned my lip twice. It was awful! The positive was that he made sure my mouth was very numb. I didn’t feel the teeth pain only the pain from having my lip burned. I didn’t go back for my crown. I’m using a different dentist.

This place is a joke. Visited for workmans comp claim, so I had no choice on where to go. They had just opened up all businesses from COVID-19. Staff all were sitting in office, side by side. No masks were being worn, and no masks were being offered. Started paperwork, printer needed toner to be replaced, as you could not read printed copies. I had questions that I wanted to speak with the Dentists about, so I kept the paperwork. Office manager asked if I was done, with paperwork which I replied no, I needed to speak with the Doctor, he said what was the problem. I told him that I would like to speak to the doctor in private, due to HIPPA laws, he said just tell me, I will see all your stuff anyways. Very rude demeanor. I finally got X-rays done, by the way, I had 1 broken tooth, and they took about 40 X-rays of my mouth. The doctor came in, started probing the wrong side of my mouth, and said everything looked good. I told her that it was the other side, and there was pain. She said, I dont see anything wrong. They ended up referring me to oral surgeon. I will NEVER return to this place, or recommend them for anything. If you have the choice of going somewhere else, please do. There are many dental firms in town that know what they are doing, and treat people well, this should place is a circus, not professional at all, and should NOT be allowed to operate.

Brought my grandson here for braces, have not had any problems, staff is always professional and nice to us. Never have to wait long. And they always answer my questions. I would refer this office to my friends and family.

Customer service is rude. No in office orthodontist if you have Any emergency issues you will have to wait two months to be seen. Technicians are under trained. 3 technicians took my retainer mold before they realized my bar was still in my mouth and it was breaking the mold. Spend the little extra and go to st. Clair. These people are horrible.

If there were an option for 0 stars I would have posted as such. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OR EMERGENCY DENTAL NEEDS ATTEND THIS CLINIC. When I was desperate to find a dentist in my price range to remove an abscessed tooth, Dr Lee charged me for the consolation.I am not sure that he actually reviewed the xtrays or patient information because he was too quick to charge my credit card (keep you in mind, this is currently the only money I have to my name) for the remainder of my available funds; because he was going to pull the tooth...After charging me, Dr Lee told me he could only use local aesthetic. This scared me because at this point I had a swollen lump the size of a tennis ball-even though I had been on oral antibiotics for 12 days at this point. I was desperate, he had just taken all the money I had to give for care, and many dentists in Amarillo area are closed on Fridays, so I decided to let him try.... WORST MISTAKE EVER! Dr Lee did not get past putting me in screaming crying agony with the local anesthetic that only worsed my situation. He was quick to refer me out - to no avail, because most places were closed, and I had nothing to pay anyone else... Familia Dental refunded the money charged for the extraction that never happened, but would appreciate the money for the evaluation back as the dr did not take much care in reading that I had been on antibiotics for so long, and also neglected use critical thinking while reviewing the xrays, and should have never even tried to perform without surgical anesthesia!! Furthermore I was now completely broke, with nothing to live off of and did not get the funds back until the following Tuesday.By this time I had self admitted to BSA for more intensive care, as the tennis ball had progressed to the size of a soft ball and was over my lymphoid, pressing on my esophagus and was in an extremely painful and in a life threatening & dangerous place. I eneded up having a full 3 day stay at BSA. In surgery they had to remove 2 teeth and part of the bone, leaving drain tubes that I will have removed by the end of today. Thank you BSA!

I love this Dental clinic. Me and my family been coming here for years. Great service and they work with your schedule. The ladies upfront are very professional and the doctors are very understanding.

Dr. Lee has made my son dentist appointment very comfortable. Before he did not like going in for any dental work now he is relaxed and excited .

Was very disappointed with the whole experience, went in for teeth cleaning, and got a couple X-rays and they opened my mouth and said I needed to see a specialist, went to another dentist and got my teeth cleaned and no problems.

The doctors are great, highly recommend to get your braces done by Dr. Padilla. And the staff is amazing, they are always nice and very helpful.

They have upgraded in customer service since my last visit a couple of years ago so I’m back excited about this office. They answered all of our questions thoroughly and followed up with us promptly concerning dental work.

I have enjoyed taking my daughter to Familia Dental in Amarillo for two years. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful every time. My daughter was treated very well by the doctors. The doctor is not only an expert he treated our family as if we were friends. The braces came off and my daughters teeth are great!

The dental assistant Brittany Gomez was great and made my daughter feel completely safe and comfortable. She is very knowledgeable and made our experience at Familia Dental wonderful.

The staff has treated each of my children with kindness even if they struggle with being at the dentist. I also appreciate that they are willing to schedule all of my children in one appointment!

I had a positive experience bringing my kids to Familia Dental my kids were very well taken care of and we were in and out in a timely manner. And everyone was very nice and knowledgeable.

Great service and have very kind staff. Dr Bruce gets the job done correctly and Blanca & Liz his assistants try their very best to do it as fast as they can. Their office is always full but some how manage to get the clients in and out as fast as possible. Would definitely recommend specially if you go to Dr Bruce, Blanca & Liz.

When you make an appointment to see a dentist, it should honored. Daughter had an appointment at 11 am. After waiting an hour and a half, asked how much longer and was told another 30- 40 minutes. People were walking in and taken in 5 minutes after they got there. Wont be going there again.

The throughput was great. Other than the delays due to insurance paperwork and the time for back and forth communication with insurance company, there was no wait time. The service was delivered efficiently. The staff were very courteous and forthcoming with information. Horrible service!! I will never return to this crappy dentist office. First of all I made an appointment at 9:30. I waited for almost two hours until I finally seen a dentist at 11:15! They have no consideration for their patients. Why even give me the option to book an appointment when you just see me whenever? Secondly the staff is very unprofessional when you see someone standing in front of you waiting to pay their bill the least you could do is say One moment maam I will be right with you instead of acting like I wasnt even there! And continued to ask me how I will be paying when I had previously told her three times how I was going to pay. She would get up and go do something else without even looking at me once. No joke I probably stood right in front of her for a whole ten minutes before she spoke to me. Lastly when I finally seen someone he couldnt even help me!! He took my crown off of my tooth then said I cant put it back on or fix it since I didnt do the work in the first place....So he expected me to walk out of the office without a crown on my tooth. When I called and made the appointment (which was pretty mych pointless) I told them my situation and asked can you help me or should I call someone else, and the lady said they could help me. So if she would have known how to do her job I wouldnt have even walked into that crappy place. So I wasted an entire morning just to be told they couldnt help me. Will not returning to this place. So if you plan on wasting time and money be my guest walk but you are better off just going somewhere else where they will treat you with respect!!

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. These people will take you for a ride and try to get you to pay out of pocket instead of dealing with your insurance. After being scheduled almost a month in advance, I had to call my insurance multiple times and have them call my dentist to inform them they DO in fact take my insurance. After 3 hours of waiting, they finally (and unhappily) agreed to my copayment of $5, after quoting me $300!! Finally got back to talk to the doctor for less than 5 minutes to be told I wouldnt be treated and given my money back because my gums were slightly swollen(because I have impacted wisdom teeth DUH) They prescribed me Tylenol and told me to return a month later. They then informed me at the front that they would be dropping my insurance WHO THEY ARE CONTRACTED WITH, so it wouldnt be available for my next appointment. LMFAO I scheduled an appointment for one day later at Bailey Bryan and had all four teeth out within an hour of me stepping foot in the clinic. Please take your business elsewhere!!!P.S. The people at the front were LOVELY but Dr. Lee seemed like he had better places to be.

Ive been bringing my kids here for many years, staff is very good with them and I appreciate how they get us in and out quickly.

I called several days prior to going in. I had already had my doctor give me antibiotics to clear any infection. I told the lady I needed an extraction and instead of her scheduling it for later in the week she scheduled decided to just schedule me the following day 30 minutes before the The “dentist” refused to help me only do x-rays and a cleaning although I have been an existing patient. The “dentist” refused to help me, even after me telling her that I would just go buy tweezers and rip it out myself because it hurts so bad!! They just wanted my insurance and that’s all!! I will not ever go back there!!!

There is nice people there its just the doctor is never there! They rescheduled my appointment so many times because the doctor wasnt there. Ive waited 2 months already and my appointment was supposed to be may 12 but they rescheduled and now I have to wait two more months. I wouldnt suggest going to this place.

Horrible experience. 1st my appointment was at 10 finally got called on right around 10:45. Dentist was not friendly at all, after poking at my tooth briefly decided to send me elsewhere while now I have pieces of tooth in my mouth was told to get something for the pain from dentist on the referral no matter when they are able to get me in. Didnt walk out till 1130 & left worse off than when I came.

Cannot get a kid seen because familia dental cant get their stuff together. Took 6 months to get things transferred to them and another month and a half to get the approval. Came in again after being rescheduled once and they said they still dont have the approval from insurance even though we had the email already and thats why she was able to be rescheduled to begin with. This run around is ridiculous and I do not recommend. Lazy office people who would rather reschedule patients than do their job.

I hate this place! The ladies at the front are NEVER working. I took my brother to an appointment. Got there early only to wait 45 min. To be told to reschedule. Then they set up the appointment for 3 weeks later and after my mom sat there for an hour they rescheduled him again! This place is awful!

I’ve known for years my wisdom teeth were coming in crooked. I have a filling in one of my lower teeth, but anyway long story short! They couldn’t figure out how much my insurance was gonna cover. I was in pain on the tooth that had a filling and asked if I wanted to be a private pay I said yes cause of the pain. $60 dollars later he tells me it’s my wisdom tooth and I’m like no it’s the one with the filling. He gives me a script are you ready for this ibuprofen and amoxicillin and gives me a referral to an ortho surgeon to have wisdom tooth extracted. Don’t go to them for $60 I got a script for ibuprofen and to be told my wisdom tooth was coming in crooked!

Personal experience. Don’t go there! That is all. Don’t even deserve a star!! There are plenty Medicaid offices in Amarillo. Choose differently

This place is an absolute rip off and are insurance thieves.....my husband went for services and they were unable to get a hold of my insurance company so they quoted him $2400. Two days later he went to have the services performed and was told it was going to be over $6600. He ask how that was even possible if two days prior he was quoted a wayless amount (granted that was without insurance). They could not give him an explanation for the price increase. All they kept saying was this is due to your insurance and kept putting the blame on them. Little did they know, I actually work for the insurance company. I explained to him that they increased the prices to bill the insurance and receive a better profit. He stated he no longer wanted to use the insurance he would just pay out of pocket for the entire thing. They told him that would be insurance fraud and they are not able to do that. I laughed when he told me that. I was thinking insurance fraud really!!!! They are the ones creating insurance fraud. Doubling prices and billing my insurances an outrageous amount for more money....they are a joke. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVERRRRR.....refer a customer or recommend anyone to them. Not only that, he stated the place was dirty. Bugs on the floor in the waiting area and trash as well. All he had was a horrible experience. I told him he should have seen the sign when he seen the bugs on the floor. That should have said it all.!!!

Staff was rude, when payment was not automatically drafted after the 3rd and 4th time. Information never changed was told ALL the money needed to be paid the next time we went to the see the dentist. My child has been rescheduled twice and needs to seen because a tooth is starting to move downward but the staff does not care, no rescheduling for this. Only reschedule to their own convenience. I will be trying to find somewhere else to finish up the job. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

I had gone to a differnet dentist yesterday whome did nothing to help me. So I decided to try familia today. I was on time for my appointment and was called back almost immediately. I saw Dr. Lee and right away he figured out a problem that a previous dentist had missed. He did an extraction and the whole thing went very smoothly. The nurse (Cant remember her name) was so sweet and held my hand because I am a huge weenie and I was scared. Dr. Lee was kind and took his time to explain everything to me which I really appriciated. He also made sure I felt no pain. (THANK YOU!) I was in and out in a timley mannor and I am very satisfied with the care I received from the doctor and the staff. Based off of this experience I will be bringing my family back.

If you are paying out of pocket for anything, dont come here, This place sucked!! They should have a no star. I wish i could have my money back! And they have no idea what they are talking about when they give you pricing! I got a cleaning and i cant even tell!

The wait was not to bad, but the girls in front stayed on their phones and talked about guys the entire time I was in the waiting room. When I got back in the back, my tech was a doll and did great... to bad he wasnt the doctor. The doctor herself was almost impossible to understand due to a thick asian accent. She informed me that the dental work I had done by a competent dentist was subpar, and needed to redone. She was rude and spent all of 5 minutes cleaning my teeth (the cleaning AND buffing process). The cleaning itself almost drown me, thank God they gave me goggles to wear. When I left, I walked out with a shirt soaked and my gums bleeding from her rush and inability to understand the pain she caused doing a horrible cleaning. Now these people will not stop calling me, demanding I come back and get my teeth worked on there. Nope, no thanks... I would trust my 10 year old nephew to do a better job. The one good thing I did get out of it was the cartoons.

Worst dentist Ive ever been to. After a 2 hour wait (past my appointed time), I finally was given 18 X rays of my teeth when my previous dentist only needed 4. The assistant kept dropping the piece that went into my mouth onto the xray shield on me, and did put it in my mouth. I wonder how many people I just swapped bacteria with. I will not go back there again.

It was ok. I wont return though for my other two grchildrens braces. Had to bring my grand daughter back to get her teeth remolded. It surprises me that after several moldings for her retainers. None were able to be utilized to make her retainers. Now Im having to sit and wait not to mention I had to come from out of town to have this procedure redone! This was unun- nessesary!

HORRIBLE PLACE! HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!! DOCTOR CHO!!!!! Went in for a tooth ache asked the doctor if extracting the tooth would help the pain go away or if i had any other problems an he said hmmm well maybe if you’re a Doctor why would you say hmmm to everything before speaking not just that he said I needed to go back because it looked like i had alot of cavities an i told him if you’re a real Dentist you would know that those are stains ive had them since along time ago every Dentist has told me that they are stains you have been the only one to say they are cavities! Also Doctor did not want to prescribe any medicine knowing how bad i was in pain he said i can prescribe ibuprofen thats it until you get your tooth extraction Doctor was not helpful at all an still had the audacity to give me a 5 star card to review this place so yes i am DO NOT TRUST YOUR MOUTH WITH DOCTOR CHO!!! His assistant was pretty nice an try to help me in any way possible only good thing of my visit

Do not go here Dr. wrote me for medicine Im highly allergic too. I breakout in hives

Great service and staff is friendly my girls love to come get their teeth cleaned her always asking if its time for their cleanings.

I had the worst expierence ever with Dr.cho , i am devasted to hear that he is even a doctor or classified as one i went in wanting to save one of my teeth and he told me that it was better for me to get all my teeth extracted and get dentures mind you im only 25, his assistant was processing the x-rays on the computer and i heard him over say that he thought i was a crackhead after that i decided to walk out.. i tried to speak to the manager but the front desk informed me that she was no where to be found.

I didnt have to wait long in the waiting room after filling out my forms, and the doctor who worked with me explained everything that was going to be done during the visit. He was kind, asked me multiple times if I was okay, and it was overall a much more pleasant experience than most other dentist experiences I have had.

Place was great! Wonderful staff!

Absolutely awful experience. I went for a simple cleaning and my mouth has never been in this much pain (and I had braces for three years). When I left, every tooth was bleeding and throbbing. Avoid this place!!!
