Had to go home and shave my own head, ASKED for a very basic undercut with a high fade.. she literally cut the back of my hair up half way over the top of my head. It looked like I had a wig on. Dont waste your money. Spend the extra 10 dollars and go to REAL PROFESSIONALS

Its easy and they maintain a database for each client so the next time you visit, regardless of the location they have your info and can give you the same cut!

I just got my hair cut this evening at Great Clips at Plank Road Commons in Altoona. I signed in online, and they started my appointment as soon as I walked in. The service was quick, friendly, and professional. Missie did a fantastic job and took the time to make sure I was completely satisfied with my hair cut. She was friendly, made me laugh, and I left the appointment grateful for the experience.

The past 2 times Ive gotten my hair cut here, Ive been extremely unsatisfied with the results It is a very nice place but it depends in who you get i went yesterday and got a hair cut, my layers are longer on one side than the other, about 2 inches longer, and she only cut part of my bangs, so I have long chunks and short chunks. It looks so bad.

Very few people manage to give my husband a proper fade and we stopped by there today to get his hair cut and not only did he come out with an amazing hair cut but she was fast and wonderful and pleasant. We will definitelt be going back.

I wear a face shield and they refused to cut my hair without a mask. Because of health reasons I wear a face shield. I just got out of hospital and my husband was trying to make me feel better with a haircut. Thank you great clips for making me feel worse than I do!!! Im on oxygen and there was no one in line so I thought I would get in and out quick without oxygen.

This is a decent salon, barber shop that offers basic haircuts for men and styles for ladies. I suggest going early in the morning or sign in online before you go. It does get busy. Seems like they rotate through staff quickly so chances are you wont find the same stylist for very long.

I got a great haircut for a very reasonable price, and all the hairdressers seem very friendly. I also didnt have to wait more than a few minutes despite being a walk in. Highly recommended!

I was a walk in and was told I had to wait an hour. The lady was extremely rude and had an attitude for the entire “check in” process. Don’t accept walk ins if that isn’t the actual deal. Can’t believe how I was treated! Will NEVER come back here again. Do not recommend.

Went in to have my hair braided quickly. Stylist told me she hated doing thise kinds of braids (just 2 Dutch braids.) Asked if I brought pony tail holders. What? Who brings their own pony tail holders for their hairdo? She laughed at me for not bringing any then said shed have to look for some (she found some). Continuously cussed while braiding. She took a pony tail holder out to redo part of one braid and tried to put it in my hand. It fell out of her fingers before it touched my hand. She asked for it back. I told her she never put it in my hand. She laughed and started teasing me for losing it and complained shed have to find another one. She kept saying it was probably between my legs. When I stood up it was not there. Will not go back.

I absolutely recommend this place for a nice fade even on a child, and the staff are very pleasant to deal with an seem to know customers by name when they come, i was very pleased!

I went into Great Clips VERY NERVOUS!!I have very long, thick hair and bad results with other salons.I had 2 styles.... A line type bob and long layers. She saw how nervous I was and to my surprise she TALKED to me about my concerns. And continued to do so the whole way through the cut!!!I LOVE IT!!! WILL BE RETURNING!!AWESOME JOB!!!

Fine for trims and straight cuts, but thats all Id really trust them for. I like that they donate to Wigs for Kids. Ive donated a few times through them and the process has always been very simple and quick.

Went to the salon to try to get my goddaughter’s hair braided for her birthday you had eight workers in there and none of them knew how to braid is supposed to be a hair salon and I don’t know how to braid and they’re supposed to be cosmetologist really I’ll give it a zero for professionalism because a woman who waited on us was very rude

I was looking to get a nice mid-fade and got the total opposite. I made sure to explain my self clearly but it seem like she dident want to hear it. After the cut I went home to find my head was butchered and I literally mean it BUTCHERED. One side was almost bald to the top and on the other side it looked like a bowl cut. I will NEVER go there again!! I highly advise any guy that wants a nice fade not to go here.

This is the second time I’ve gone to great clips in Altoona they tell me about 39 minute wait because of online people so I come back at the time and it kicked me out of the system because people do not show and I come back as “suggested” by the place. Now would have to wait an hour. This place is horrible, do away with the online it should just be first come first serve on site so that way customers can be seen. Going to go find somewhere else to get my haircut.

I have been going there for about a year they are great and the people are very friendly and nice Iam very pick about my hair and they cut it the way I like it.i dont go anywhere else but great clips there the best around and there prices​ are very low I tell everyone to go there.

First off on a number of occasions my hair cut has been wrong, and/or greatly inconsistent between visits.Second off the online check in system is servely broken. I have watched as countless people left the place without ever getting a cut. Today I checked in online and waiting in store for over a half an hour. Four people were able to come in and get cuts before me, even though I was the next one up. When I asked what was going on, the worker looked at me like I was crazy. No one should have to keep getting pushed once they are in the store. I left and walked right into another salon and got a better and less expensive haircut without any wait.

We typically go to the Waukee location and have been very happy with or service here, but we just relocated to the Altoona area, so we visited this store for the first time. We’ve also been to several Super Cuts locations in the Omaha area. We were extremely satisfied with our experience at the Altoona store. Abbie cut my hair and Laura cut my boyfriend’s. They were both extremely knowledgeable and friendly, as were the other stylists. It’s obvious that they are passionate about making sure their clients leave the store happy with their hairstyle. They also recommended specific products that would work well with our hair types. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this location to people in the Altoona area.

Had to wait 20 minutes at SmartStyle in Walmart only to be told itd be another 45 minutes because some customer that came in AFTER us wanted her two girls to get their hair colored. We left and walked over to Great Clips. So glad we did, because Riane and Jessica gave my son and I two great haircuts. We were in and out in 15 minutes, and it was a lot cheaper than SmartStyle. Definitely going back to Great Clips.

I was just here yesterday and I will NEVER go back! The girl that did my hair stopped to talk to me about products and how I should buy them then she continued to cut my hair and still saying why I need to buy stuff. I told her what I wanted on my hair especially my bangs.......she did the opposite my bangs are NOT straight, i just wanted to get away from her and her trying to sell stuff she careed more about selling stuff than cutting my hair! All I wanted was layers and bangs straight now I look like I did it myself :(
