I have to say the nurses and medical staff here are top notch and really care. And its sad that the facility itself and other staff is so difficult. They do not have diabetic friendly option for anything. I had to call my family to drop off supplies for me. And the food is good when you can get it. One day the chef didnt even show up. And when he was here meals were so late that group sessions were being called while folks were standing in line still waiting for lunch. And when the food is out... youd better get there quick or else youre just out of luck. The chef locks the window and goes back to sit in his office. I was told to knock on the kitchen door and the window by staff. And I did so for ten minutes. I could even see someone moving back in the office in the back of the kitchen but they ignored me. And this is while lunch was still sitting out at the window. It was just locked up so no one would get to it. Lunch is listed as being from 12 to 1. I had a meeting and arrived at 12:20. Too bad. No lunch for this diabetic. And since theres nothing in the vending machine except sugary cokes, and candies. Thank god my family brought me snacks.

This place was pretty great! Very clean, very spacious, tv’s and oscillating fans in each room, nice bathrooms and good comfortable living areas. The staff was very friendly and when I went into detox I was inebriated and asked for a private room lmao but crazy enough they really gave me one! They put me into a room where my roommate left the next day and I had my own room for multiple days! The only thing I would improve on is the food and is the absolute only reason I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars! Thank you sunrise!!

From the first day, I was amazed by the environment and staff. Every single person that worked there from Counselors to drivers and chef were kind and friendly yet professional. Extremely classy environment and yet you could walk around in pjs and socks if you wanted to. They sat with me twice to help me find a place to go next and I appreciated that so much. I felt a kindness and respect that I did not expect. Thank you Sunrise for saving me and my life. God Bless You!

This is the beginning, the facilities are there administering DETOX, in a safe environment. They do the “dirty” work. But they absolutely provide and options for aftercare. First get the detox, second attend another facility specifically to your needs. Sunrise isn’t about providing long term care (though they absolutely seek facilities for you to attend for aftercare), they do the heavy “detox” lifting. And my experience was wonderful.

The facility was nice, but i was mislead about several things. They promised to keep me comfortable from the very start but didnt give me any medications to help with the withdrawals for at least 24 hours and that was rough. I was also told i would be put on a maintenance plan upon leaving but found out they dont do that here while i was at stay. They kept my belongings locked up in the safe after j left and wouldnt give them back for 24 hours after i left so i had to come all the way back up there. Dont go here

The communication for family members is virtually nonexistent. Promises were made prior to admission and the reality was the opposite. Even though the admission was voluntary this was similar to having a family member in jail. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because Carly one of the counselors did reach out to me once and the team answering the phone were helpful.

They promised me a refund after finding out my wifes services wouldnt be covered by insurance and releasing her. I called the billing department every day for weeks to check on the status until the representative just started screening my calls. Refund never issued even after disputing on my CC. They are much more focused on profits than serving people with addiction.

Sunrise detox is about nothing more than dollar signs. I do not recommend sending a loved one there or going there yourself. The staff does not care at all they are only there to collect a paycheck and do the bare minimum absolutely bare minimum. All Sunrise patients are nothing more than dollar signs to them. The counselor and all staff will make promises and lie to you that is end of the day your back out on the streets with nothing. They do nothing to help you other than that they will help you clear your bank account but they will not help you stay clean!!

Kyler (Admissions) you are the best. Thank you for speaking with me regarding the negative reviews Sunrise has received the past few months. You addressed my concerns, in addition assisted me with my anxiety regarding work life balance and aftercare, which I have failed many times. I’m looking forward to my stay at Sunrise and hope it will be my last stint in a detox/recovery center and hope that I have a peaceful/successful post recovery. Again, thank you Kyler for your direction and next steps.

Absolutely terrible experience. The clinical aspect was a complete joke. I was not only constantly misled but I was flat out lied to by the medical staff. Karen was rude, inconsiderate, and unwilling to listen to my concerns about my treatment. She showed me no compassion or respect. I left Sunrise with nothing but regrets. I used my savings $10,500.00 and $7,500.00 (no insurance)to get the help I had needed for such a long time. I looked at this opportunity as a lifelong investment in myself. They gladly took the money but I did not receive anything close to what was portrayed to me via phone/internet. I was tricked by the salesman in Florida. I was just another number towards his quota. I am in worse shape than I was when I went in. I get disgusted when I think about how my sobriety and recovery was cheated by Sunrise. My responsibility is to forwarn anyone considering Sunrise. Please please please look elsewhere if you are looking for a safe comfortable detox.I would honestly rather go to a state run facility before I step foot back there

I have been a few times and it is truly a great place to detox! They make sure you are comfortable the entire time the staff is amazing the counselors will bend over backwards to help you. The rooms are clean the showers are clean the beds are comfortable. The chef always makes amazing food and if you can’t eat what he has cooked due to your detox he will cook you something on the side that you can handle eating. Maids clean your room daily. You aren’t required to go to group although they are fun and helpful. And there are only two or three a day that last an hour. They have AA meetings every night if I remember correctly. The staff makes sure you have everything you need to make you comfortable!

I took a loved one here that needed to be detoxed off alcohol. We fully explained the situation and what type of consumption he had been doing. They said no problem that they could get him sorted out and would take care of him. As soon as I got home they called and said they called the ambulance and sent him to the ER. They still charged me $5000 for services they did not preform. I disputed with AMEX when I saw in the reviews that they had done this before to other people. I got the charges taken care of but Sunrise is now charging me $1000 for services we hired them for and they did not do. I am using this as visual proof to send to AMEX to dispute the $1000 charge. They said they will be able to reverse it. Sunrise if you would like me to change my review please reach out to me.AS OF NOW THIS PLACE IS A SCAM AND I WOULD NOT TAKE SOMEONE HERE.

This place is trash. I sent a family member here and they had to leave b/c of co-occurring health issues. The facilty kept their belongings such as their phone and laptop and wallet. Watch out for this place taking your money. Upon admission, we were advised 1 price and total price through insurance came in 5X higher. Make sure you are fully aware of the pricing so you are not surprised on the back end with extremely high bills! Im shocked business can be done this way, not to mention the programs offered during the visit were lackluster. Find a different place with upfront pricing and service expectations!

If you want to be treated like a child, this is the place for you. Nurses are blunt and dismissive. Not exactly how you need to be treated when you’re detoxing. And one of the male nurses made me extremely uncomfortable every time I had to be in the same room with him. I hate to leave a bad review, because some of the staff, especially the counselors, were wonderful, but were obviously overworked and rarely available. The place was bursting at the seams to the point that they had patients sleeping on the floor of the office. I honestly can’t believe some of the things I saw while I was there.

The level of care, compassion and professionalism at Sunrise Detox in Alpharetta is precisely what our community needed in terms of medical stabilization. As a professional, I have had the pleasure of working primarily with Alec Pagliarulo. Alecs passion for helping those who are struggling is something I appreciate more than words. If it were an option, I would give Sunrise a 10-star review.

Theresa is by far one of the best people in recovery I’ve worked with. I’ve been to multiple detoxes and in patients and this place is caring, supportive, and educational. The insight from staff and the luxury residence calls for a 5 star review. Again people like Theresa are reasons why I want to be sober.

The only complaint about this place is that the experience is so professional, pleasant and virtually painless that I no longer fear relapse. The staff are amazing and caring people that treat their patients with dignity, respect and compassion. The food is amazing as well. They even go out of their way to get patients on the road to long-term recovery past the detox stage. You cannot make a better choice than Sunrise if you are ready to detox.

They declined to treat us, instead telling us to go to the ER. We never got any treatment from them.Despite this, they said they have charged us $700 a week later.I think that speaks for itself. Id highly recommend not supporting this group. You might want to consider the North Fulton Hospital ER, which is very nearby. That hospital ER is one of the best I have been in- it was not crowded, with a nice staff and a nice facility. There are likely many other alternative detox facilities as well that dont have a documented case of charging $700 for no service.Sunrise- fix this strange billing. Im happy to just delete the review since we didnt actually get any service from you, and theres nothing to review besides a $700 erroneous bill.

My boyfriend Brandon needed really bad a place to go, anywhere else they would ask for the deductible right away, this place was the only one who cared more about his condition and did anything possible to get him in. I am very thankful and my boyfriend is really happy with the staff and conditions of the place, really nice interior and very nice staff willing to help the patient needs. I totally recommend it.

I really cant recommend this place, I went in to this detox for Benzos and Alcohol, they did a Librium taper, I was in serious benzo withdrawal upon discharge and am still in a ton of pain. ALSO, dont go here if youre a non-smoker the whole place smells like cigarette smoke and the only place to go outside is packed with chain smokers and is located off the main dinning room where you eat. The food is average, the rooms are above average, the place is disorganized to a large extent. I found the group therapy to be disorganized at times. AA meetings are not consistent.

This place is horrendous. My brother went there last week. We had gotten a shared room for him for 5 days, which costs $3500. When checking out, Teressa tried to get my brother to sign off on a $7000 bill, claiming he had a personal room. If that werent enough, they also damaged his phone. When checking in, the registration official ended up damaging his phone will placing it in storage. They refused to reimburse him for said damages. This place is hell. There are numerous other detox facilities that are better than this one.

This place is unorganized and you are most likely to have something stolen from you or “destroyed” by staff members without any notification. You’d think after spending thousands of dollars they would keep your medications they forgot to give you in the first place. Phones are constantly smuggled in along with drugs. My first time a woman brought Xanax in and my last a guy over dosed on the heroin he had brought in. If you want to get clean don’t come here- they will only make you feel worse about yourself and degrade you. I was never assigned a counselor and never given any suggestions and had to ask a counselor where I could get a vivitrol shot. Because the other two counselors had just quit leaving them short staffed. Very unorganized and again sadly another place that only cares about money rather than saving another life. DO NOT GO HERE! Everything you read or see online is false. My best advice is go to Novus detox center. Anywhere but here. If something is stolen or taken from you- they don’t care and won’t do anything about it.

My loved one unfortunately had to do 2 stays here. One for full blown withdrawal (5 months ago) and one for a minor relapse (just recent). The first stay went pretty smoothly with check in and check out and there were no issues with staff or management. However, this is in stark contrast to our most recent encounter with them. It was absolutely ATROCIOUS! Everything about the place was completely unprofessional!First off we get checked in by a girl who has only been working there for 5 days and has ZERO idea of what she is doing! She called for assistance every 2 seconds which dragged the process out for about 1 1/2 hours! And then she didn’t even follow protocol when they drug tested my love one! Picked up his urine test with NO GLOVES! And she had the WORST bedside manner and showed pretty much zero empathy! We also called ahead and were told we had a private room for $200 extra a night but were told upon completing registration that it was $500 extra a night and there was no private room!! The last time we were there, they said we couldn’t have a fan that plugs into the wall but this time they said he could! (Turns out they really couldn’t and locked up the fan until checkout!!)After that, I had little faith in what they would be capable of doing for my loved one. But I hoped for the best. Then they started to force the suboxone on my loved one who wasn’t even uncomfortable from any withdrawal symptoms! (Hindsight, I wish my loved one had refused to take it because it turned into a complete mess when we tried to check out early!)My loved one also said that there was no “chef” this go round. They actually had to cater in cold Panda Express and On The Border, which apparently was nasty and the last thing someone who is detoxing wants to eat is anything with bold or spicy flavors! They were also out of milk for the whole week!So after my loved one started to decline the suboxone because it was making him feel worse and expressed his interest in wanting to leave, they labeled him “non compliant” and leaving “AMA”. We confirmed with our insurance that if he left AMA (against medical advice) it wouldn’t hinder him from getting help at another facility. So we decided that him leaving and starting a new program would be the best option at this point. So I have everything lined up at the next place and the counselors and management there were basically refusing to let my loved one leave! They kept telling me he was leaving AMA and insurance won’t cover his stay and he won’t be getting in to his IOP because they already called and told them he was leaving AMA. I about lost my mind! I told them we were leaving and hoped they didn’t mess anything up for him at the next place because we are just trying to get him the best help we can! The manager then told me he could leave but she was not giving him his personal belongings (wallet, keys) until 24 hours!!! At that point, my loved one was let out of the facility door by a janitor because the med staff and management wouldn’t let him out! We ended up having to call the police to get his wallet back! It was completely INSANE!!!!They tried to turn a voluntary stay into a MANDATORY stay!!! Unreal!! We will never ever recommend this place TO ANYONE! Not even our worst enemy! “Detox with dignity” ... yeah right!!

Extremely unprofessional. You have to worry about both clients and staff stealing from you and the food is cheap and they make the same items every week and you only have maybe 2 items to pick from. And to top it off they did not help me find a place to go to that fit my needs. Instead the lazy staff kept pushing the same 3 places on me no matter how many times I said no because they didnt fit my needs. The staff can be nasty and are VERY lazy, except the cooks and maids, they definitely need to be paid more.

Seemed more like a prison. Pretty pictures of comfortable accommodations online. Warm and inviting. On the inside however, accommodations were questionable at best. Sand paper feel to very old linens washed at least a million times with ZERO fabric softener.Nurses administer the bare minimum in meds no matter what you tell them your current situation is, but under the guise of we want you to be comfortable. I will say the Nurse Practitioner on sight is dynamite. Really interested in helping everyone. Smart, charming, she gets it. Enjoyed her so much.Group sessions were so much about inner child rah rah were all ok, and strong and lets get in touch with our feelings, it was a turn off. We never studied the big book of AA or NA. There was no gym or outside area to walk or run or exercise although if corn whole is your idea of paradise recovery in a 20x20 prison yard, then knock yourself out. Oh and a frisbee. Let me not forget the frisbee. WeeeeeeJust Ask, we will get you anything you need. Ummmm nope. Most staff members very accommodating and pleasant but mostly just waiting to punch that card clock and check out instead of seeing how they might make guests more comfortable. Exceptions to that were Tech Tom, Nurse Patrick and several others in both groups whose names escape me.Then there is the so called schedule. Nothing, I repeat nothing runs on time in this place. Everything is between 15-30 minutes behind. If you show up on time to group meetings, Counciling sessions, MED dispensing, all meals, You will always wait. Sometimes there is an announcement. Sometimes there is not. To me its the difference between for profit recovery and Not For Profit recovery like Fellowship Hall in Greensboro, NC. This group is A+ spectacular 5-star at what they do and the accommodations are great. Do yourself a favor and take the trip to Fellowship Hall in NC and dont waste your time or your loved ones critical recovery from addiction by fattening the pockets of the handlers of Sunrise Detention, I mean Detox.PS - If you do take the plunge against my advice, stay as far away as possible from MED tech Jamera W. She does not care about you or how you are doing and has an aweful chip on her shoulder with every patient. I mean every one. Every time. Tragic she retains a position here.My two cents from a 7-Day $8400 out of pocket, mediocre, recovery, extravaganza in hell.Thank you Bill W and Dr Bob for your insight, guidance and literature to rescue those discharged from Sunrise.RP - 9-20-2017
