Unprofessional, uncaring individuals, all was needed was a breathing treatment, and they refused treatment. Went to Carson city no issue no problem no attitude listened to my concern and checked him out, albuterol sent home. I was right wasnt covid and my family nor I should of been treated like we where idiots. I hate that word but that how we felt due to your staffs manners.

Wish I could give negative stars . Ride in an ambulance because I couldn’t stand up without passing out and they took my vitals and sat me in the waiting room from 10:18am till I left on my own at 4:00pm , while I was waiting they didn’t call anyone from the waiting room to be treated. If you ask how long it would be they would tell you they don’t know and basically close the window in your face. Many people who were waiting just left to go to other hospitals. I have never been to a worse hospital in my entire life . I’m not sure how they are still running but I’m sure since they checked everyone waiting in they are still charging an emergency room visit.

No stars in my opinion. Went to take my children in and we had to wait over 2 hrs and we were told many times it wouldnt b long and than we call and go in to find out how long its gonna b and we get told they r saving lives. I understand but I have sick children and a child in serious ear pain. We called again and they said it hadnt been over 2 hrs. We were dropped off around 6pm and last call was at 8 something pm. Thats 2 hrs wit children who r sick. 1 who has an ear ache bad and the other child has cystic fibrosis. Children should b important. They had no manners at all. Very disappointed and disrespectful. Very sad and sick the way my children were treated there. We were so patient til the last time.

Youre better off youtubeing medical care and surgeries than going to this dump. These doctors cant even give sutures properly.

Was absolutely horrible this hospital shouldn’t even be open. Can’t even give results. The doctor will only come in for 1 minute. Give the wrong results and only to find out much more was wrong. Either get new doctors or shut down completely you guys should not be open you’re not helping anyone just wasting peoples time by waiting. You all should be fired

They scheduled my cat scan at 2:30 never told me to come early. I even asked when I called if there were any requirements for my app and she said no. I got there a few min before 2:30 they checked me in 15 mins later. I get back to exrays and they tell me Im late because I wasnt there early. Never going back. I was there over an hour for not even a 5 min scan because they put people in front on me.

Told my grandfather he wasnt having a heart attack. Take a guess what he was in fact having. Is this even a learning hospital? How the f is this a business? Dying in gratiot county? May as well just die, your chances are better than coming here. Big shoutout to covenant hospital though, they operated less than an hour after arrival and they correctly diagnosed the man with an erratic heartbeat, chest and back pain, and shortness of breath. You know, the things that literal children know are indications of cardiac distress. For what its worth from someone not in a medical field, please, from everyone whos had a bad experience with you, leave the doctoring to the doctors.

I had surgery here yesterday (2-26-21) and Im currently still in here (2-27-21). Not only are the nursing staff kind and understanding, they go above and beyond to make sure that you are both as heard and as comfortable as humanly possible. No one makes me feel like I am bothering them, or wasting their time and they always have come in (called in by me or check in on their own) showing genuine concern for your needs and well being.The Doctors that did my surgery are so very amazing also. Of course normally, seeing them in their offices is so different than when you see them in the hospital before surgery. However, this is not my experience with my Doctors for this surgery. Dr. Jeffrey Smith and Dr. Ernest Cudjoe (assisted) were so very caring and genuinely concerned. This is the same experience I get with my office visits. Not only did Dr. Smith come to see me before surgery, he was there with his staff before they knocked me out, called my parents after surgery to keep them informed, and then came up to my room to see how I was after his long day of surgery was over! I can not speak more highly of this hospital or the staff (blood draw to nurse) and of course my Doctors. Great lakes surgical associates is the best group I have ever had the pleasure of using and I would do it all over again with them in a second.

Someone really needs to let the women that work at 7:00am at the hospital that are driving from Mt Pleasant to maybe leave sooner than they have because I have been ran off the road on 27 a few times by those women who work there.

Rinky dink facility with rude, obnoxious, & lying staff that will spin your words around and use them against you. Not only do the staff resemble an “old boys club” that band together and gang up on you they are physically rough with you to the point of near injury.

Had to bring loved one in for suicidal thoughts and actions. We were forcibly told 1 person from our family would have to do suicide watch not staff (as it should be!) The staff was disorganized and could not explain what was happening! I tried to get Clarification and the nurse called the hospital director or supervisor instead of answering “Can we be in the waiting room or does one person have to physically be in the room with her” It was an older woman Who was absolutely horrible!!! She told me we were not allowed to leave the hospital at all that somebody had to be physically in the room with my daughter 24 seven for an indeterminate amount of time till they could get her into a facility! I explained I am the only person in my family who can drive my husband has a medical issue And that I have a son I had to get to and from school!! She then asked “what are you gonna do Take her home and leave her all by herself”??? I said she is a flight risk she’ll leave if I’m there or not! Then she went and demanded one by one each of my family members that they stay! Finally one of the nurses stuck up for me and said this can’t work she has a son to get home to!! Then she scolded me when you come back you will wear an actual maskeven though I had a bandanna doubled up tight to my face nose covered!!! We were finally allowed to get out for an hour to get my son and some food after being there all day. Even though legally one of the staff should have been watching her as she is suicidal!!!

Disgusting place, I was SWATted by their staff, while they were on duty in the psych ward, who had a bogus grudge. The hospital response to the heinous act was to ignore me. Also I personally know of a nurse who works there and smokes crack in their off time. Worst medical facility ever...

I dont understand this place at all. Outside lab closed. Closed entrances, closed lobbys on weekends. This makes NO SENSE! Supposedly because of covid yet your cramming everyone into the same areas forcing them into tighter areas. No wonder Michigan has some of the worst numbers in the nation while having the strictest regulations. Could it be from idiotic places like this???? Hmmmmmm

Horriable place I would advise to seek care at another facility rude mean staff and waiting 15 min while the registrations staff where finished with their personal conversation to check me in which took 2 min to do .. Joke this place is a big joke will not be every coming in here

I have had to take my daughter to emergency several times over the last few years. They are quick to get us back to a room and give us the best of care. I highly recommend this hospital!

I’ve read all these reviews and I’m frankly quite surprised to see so many negative reviews. I have had nothing but outstanding experiences with this hospital and the people in it. My daughter has had two children there, both of which were wonderful experiences. My grandfather was treated there many times and was always happy with the care he received. Both of my parents have had ER visits and were very well cared for. I’ve been to the ER, more times than I care to admit, and every time I was treated quickly with great care by amazing people. And most importantly, the saved my daughter’s and unborn grandson’s life in the ER. I highly recommend this hospital staffed with wonderful and caring local professionals.

Took my wife there in severe kidney pain and had to wait over a half hour for nothing . they told us the doctor was busy. There was only 1 other patient in the ER TERRIBLE PLACE

Now that they have deemed anti convulsant medicine as a pain pill. Well guess I will just have to live with it and keep injuring myself.

My husband and i had a veru bad experience here in the ER. The Doctor we were seen by did not asl permission to do things explain why he was doing them or communicate with me at all. My husbands situation was not life or death but he had injurred his knee and was in to much pain to concent or speak with the Drs. The Dr did not acknowledge me or explain things to me. He also started wrenching my husbands knee around before they did xrays as he screamed in pain. I am not a doctor but with what turned out to be wrong with him i know that was dangerous and bad care. I will not be returning to this hospital for any reason . midland is way better.

I need to have blood drawn on a monthly basis. Do Not go to the out patient lab! The average wait time is close to an hour and a half, sometimes up to 2 hours or more. They tend to only have one lab technician. They cannot get the vein on the first try. They get it on the 2nd or 3rd try. The out patient lab doesnt even deserve a one star. At most -1 star.

This hospital does not do ANYTHING to care for patients. They make you do and figure everything out on your own. They literally don’t care about anyone at all. Might as well be a self service hospital because everyone that works here is USELESS.

I had an extremely negative experience in 2019 with a nurse named Kris, and had previously left a bad review. Basically, I could barely walk and asked if someone could wheel me to my car upon being discharged. Her response was, Um, a person of YOUR AGE should be able to walk and to angrily scribble something on my chart.She also argued with me about getting a doctors note that an actual doctor told me I would be leaving with.I returned to this ER within the last week, and wanted to change my review based on positive experiences. All of the nurses were very friendly and caring. They did several tests and wanted to make sure I was actually ok before sending me home. It was a night and day experience with my previous trip.

We had two babies here, and our experience was absolutely PHENOMENAL both times. The nursing staff is incredibly kind, helpful, caring, and genuine. We had good experiences with the different pediatricians on call, and received all the info and help we needed from the OB unit, both for baby and me. It felt like home. ♥️

The Psychiatric Care Unit at this hospital is absolutely awesome!! I have encountered a lot of places on this journey with a loved one and this facility was the BEST!! Nurses, Social Workers, Doctors every one I came in contact with seemed to actually care. My loved one received some of the best treat in years and it shows! Thank you all so much for taking such good care of her we really appreciate everything

I have never had such horrible experience as a mother in a hospital setting. I had to rush my daughter here to get stitches. I do believe the pictures will speak for themselves!!! And we were told that her dr was the best!! What a joke!! Someone needs to go back to med school. I would rather pay for an ambulance ride to Sparrow than to ever go back here again! My daughter is 11!!! Her thumb looks chewed up!!

I was taken here when I had a bad reaction to my dialysis treatment. All the nurses, nurse assistants, hospital staff and doctors were very attentive and caring toward me. You don’t usually see specialists on the weekends but I saw them here. I was happy during my entire stay there.

My brother was having psychological problems & the nurses refused to let me in his room to see him!! I think its complete BS they refused to let me back to see my own brother!! On a normal I choose gratiot but in this case I should have taken him somewhere else & next time I will!!! Treat your patients better!!!!

My father had cat-scan scheduled. They never called to confirm the appointment. I called and they said that he had to have labs done and to be there early. They could have let him know this also.

I went to the emergency room last night and they ignored everything I said and Im not happy how they just ignored me and discharged and I still having chest pains

This is my go to hospital. My family & I always go to this one for all emergencies. My grandfather is here a lot due to illness. Theres been many times hes stayed for weeks and/or months on end. Weve always had wonderful staff. However, this time, not so much. Hes been there going on 3 days. Day one they almost sent him home but instead had him stay when they realized he was quite sick (as we had been saying, thus the reason for our visit). Then day two, my grandmother went to be with him in the morning, when she got there he was in a chair in his room doing okay. When she came back (around 7-8 p.m) he was still in his chair! 12 hours he sat in his chair. When we talked to him he told us, he had not yet seen a doctor since arrival, the nurse came in a few times but did nothing for him. They are monitoring him, but only via computers. Generally this hospital is wonderful. I understand hes in his mid 80s, and there may not be much they can do, however they should make sure hes comfortable and they figure out whats wrong. Day 3 we still have no idea whats wrong with him and he has not yet seen a doctor. 😔🙄

We had our son their! Some nurses were pure angles but on in particular was rude to my wife as well rough with our son and showed no compassion! Ive seen more compassion from people for bugs then she had for our son! Another was simply rude and waited for the longest time for her to get any medication. I then walked out and observed her standing around at the nurses station laughing and having a good old time. When I told her shes been waiting and is in pain (c-section). She rudely told me shes been busy and will be in there soon! Didnt appear that way while I was watching them talk about unrelated stories to work as well we were the only ones there at that time and was 1 a.m.

My dad was in CCU for almost a month. There were times that I wondered if he would pull through this. While there the staff that took care of our family was fantastic! We had a special request for a private event, overnight they transformed an area of the hospital into exactly what we needed and more. They went above and beyond. Thank you for everything you have done for our family.

Went in for a minor surgery, with some at home care required that I couldnt bare to do as it was in my private areas and extremely painful. Went in to have a professional do it and I felt very abused they didnt do anything for the pain in the direct area, which is all I wanted gave me morphine maybe instead because I felt everything and was then left with questions unanswered and almost no re assurance from my doctor. Like how am I supposed to do this again because I was told I couldnt keep having him do it. So in all I am glad that I got some care to get rid of my condition, but disgusted with the way I was treated and spoken to. Dont ever wish to go there again.

Your communication to your patience and family is not good at all. The halls should not be the place for bickoring or reprimanding disaplenary shouldnt be heard by all. Your staff should ALL be curdious and have a smile and yet as a family member when I walk by some of your staff in the hall it sounds to be a chore to take care of an elderly patient needing assistance going to the bathroom. pretty sure your a better hospital then this please get it fixed. Might I suggest some lessons be taken or a field trip to the Midland facility for personal training. Your in healthcare !!! its not just a paycheck people take some pride and get it in order.

Starting to trust the hospital in Alma less and less. Learned to never get Protonix by IV. Especially when the nurse takes 20 minutes to figure out how to prepare it. Went into the hospital last night because I have tears in my esophagus and have been throwing up blood, and I had a ton of pressure in my chest and upper abdomen making it difficult to breath. First of all the doctor was a resident, which isn’t an issue itself, but she came in talked to me for 5 minutes, listened to my heart and told me I have a murmur, which I already knew, and left. No blood work done, no labs, nothing. Well they gave me a IV saline and some meds through IV, one of which was Protonix. About 10 minutes after the student nurse finished pushing the med, I became super dizzy and lightheaded. I couldn’t sit up straight and my vision was blurred and I couldn’t speak very well, pretty soon nothing made any sense. I asked the nurse to come in and when I explained how I was feeling she immediately got a snippy tone and put her hands on her hips and said, “I don’t know why you’re feeling like this, those aren’t side effects, you just need to lay down.” She explained she’d come back in 30 minutes to check on me. Well my symptoms got worse and I couldn’t feel half of my body and my muscles started twitching and my mouth was extremely dry, it felt like I had absolutely no control over my body. Well 30 minutes later the nurse came in gave me the discharge papers and said she wasn’t even going to read them because really it had nothing to do with pregnancy or babies. I was fed up and couldn’t think straight so I signed them and we left. Well, I don’t really remember much of anything else from last night. When my fiancé and I got home I sat on the couch and apparently was out instantly and he couldn’t get me to wake up or respond to anything. I couldn’t lift up my arms and kept shaking. Finally at about 6am this morning I woke up and had a pounding headache, and could still barely keep my eyes open or see straight or move around much. Went back to sleep and woke up around 2am still pounding headache and not being able to see straight. Finally, the effects seem to have worn off and I can actually see straight and don’t feel drugged. Yes I survived, but clearly some of the staff at MidMichigan hospital in Alma need more proper training in how to prepare and give IV medication, along with how to speak to patients and take their concerns seriously. Sure, maybe this nurse had never experienced anyone having a reaction like this before, but I am someone who has always been more sensitive to the side effects of medication, and she could have simply taken a couple of minutes to do some research because after only 5 minutes of researching myself, I found out that all of my symptoms are reported side effects of the drug Protonix given by IV, especially if pushed too fast. But instead this RN thought it was more important to stand out at the nurses station laughing and joking with the two student nurses that were there. Only rated 2 stars because the CNA working was amazing and helpful and treated me with more respect! I’m fed up... clearly nobody gave a damn a damn me or my unborn baby last night.

Stay far away from here. Ive had family members have serious injurys, both which were misdiagnosed. Brain cancer was ammonia and spinal nerve damage was told to walk it off . If you cherish your life, please stay far away from here

The WORST and most traumatic experience I have ever had. DO NOT HAVE YOUR BABY Here! They literally gave me a different babies test results and lots of awful mistakes happened afterwards. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT!

Some nurses were nice but others super nasty. Had one deliberately playing with her phone in my room to wake me up all night.
